Imran Tahir may be celebrating the wickets he takes against Pakistan but deep down he is still very Pakistani and it may hurt him if he is the main culprit for a Pakistani defeat.

Mickey Arthur may be celebrating an unlikely Pakistani win but deep down he is very much a South African and would like to see a South African win.

Difficult times for the two men

Naah!

Donald was the bowling consultant for NZ in 2011 WC and he was celebrating when NZ beat South Africa in the QF. These guys are proper professionals.

livelihood > national sporting pride

Arthur's job may depend on the next 2 games.. I dont think he cares a whole lot about SA cricket

Not sure about Arthur but Tahir has integrated greatly with South Africa. You can see his passion and say that he takes pride in his performances for South Africa.

Not at all Its Pakistans fault for getting rid of him at U-19 level as far as Micky is concerned he always makes Pakistan loose so he shouldn't be too sad if they win might still keep his job

Well his fake and over the top celebrations were certainly awkward.

His pedigree as an ODI bowler is beyond doubt, but he is probably the most annoying cricketer going around. Over the top personality, terrible hair, and although his celebrations were cool in the beginning, they seem forced now. As if he needs to keep his reputation up.

crowd was booing when he was appealing when it was not out and not at him

This.

Tahir deserves some serious abuse for his embarrassing antics today. Begging the umpire for an appeal but then refusing to refer it is cheating in my book.

How I wish he was given a few expletives.
Glad the fans gave him some stick.

That celebration after taking Hafeez's catch was cringeworthy. If he was pulling off these antics in a Pakistani shirt, I would be genuinely embarrassed.

No chance of that happening mate, he turned his back on his country 20 years ago. He should be ashamed of himself.

Yes , he played international cricket and earned a few RAND in South Africa but sold his soul and country for it.

Agreed that Tahir's celebrations were OTT and he is a bit annoying, but I have a soft spot for him because he's been through a lot and has earned his success.

Of course no chance now, but I meant if he hadn't moved to SA in the first place and played for Pakistan. Well I don't blame him for leaving, and good for him that he found success with SA, but there is no justification for being a clown.

The Pakistani inside him was probably over the moon at Professor's demise. You're all being too judgemental. :bm

I totally disagree.

Moin Khan was playing his last or 2nd last domestic season for PIA. Match was televised. Imran Tahir was on top of his game with all his varieties and had great control looked brilliant.

This was not 20 years ago. Confirm it.

In those years Kaneria was average in Odis aswell as domestic List A. But I must say in 2011 Kaneria was brilliant in his best List A season post work with Shane Warne but sadly got banned at his peak.

So, probably Inzamam was the Captain it seems and a very strong One and Imran Tahir deserved to be picked for Pakistan Odi team. It was 2004 2005 or 2006. But He was neglected and was termed not good enough. (Lack of Merit & Justice)

He than topped County and SA domestic charts and represented SA with great success and still is.

You mistreat him, don't give him most deserved Odi Cap, He leaves country for his professional life and to earn a Halaal living for his family and loved ones and you despise him and say He should be ashamed of himself ?

He is loyal to South Africa which is his Country of Choice and this is what " Hubbul Wattan Minal Eemaan " states.

Lols people getting annoyed at Tahir's celebrations :P

Imran Tahir was representing Pakistan A at the age of 24-25. Other teams were England A and SL A. There was a vacant spot for leggie in Pakistan National Odi squad.

These are two of his 3 tournaments he played in Pakistan. Plesse don't avoid facts kindly. He deserved to pe picked for Pakistan National team. After U-19 WC he played domestic Cricket in Pakistan for 8 yes 8 years.

Exactly, some people here are bitter of his success and has more passion and character then nearly everyone in the Pakistan side and is easily better then any Leggie in Pakistan and people here don't like that.

lol did you all miss that unnecessary roll after taking Azher Alis catch. What was he thinking ?

I actually missed it. Might have been a little OTT if he was rolling over after a catch :P

Having said that, the player is full of life and one shouldnt be so cynical about his antics. The guy does play with a lot of passion, more than perhaps that of entire Pakistan team (ok, lets say the batters at least)

Tahir was acting like a clown today was the pantomime villain for Pakistani fans at the ground

I am well aware of the fact that he has been mistreated, and I am glad for him that he took the bold step of moving to SA and it has paid off. In addition, I have absolutely no issues with his loyalty to SA, but that does not given the license to act like a clown. Comfortably the most annoying cricket in the world, and I can't wait for his retirement.

I like Imran Tahir's aggression and excitement. I simply don't understand what some people want. He's the number bowler in the world and is passionate about doing well for his country, which explains the running around and jumping. And mind you, everyone in the cricketing fraternity loves it, just a few edgy blokes want to look different.

I think he knowingly exaggerates his celebrations.

Not that I care TBH, but yeah were he playing for Pakistan, I'd be genuinely embarrassed.

He is a top ODI bowler, a match-winner. A missed opportunity (like countless others) by Pak selectors.

And Talentspotter no denying what you say is true but I have ZERO respect for a man who disrespects his origins, I can't stand people like that.

Why so hate for Imran? Thought he had Pakistani origin. Also keeps beard. Where is the issue. Over the top celebrations alone cannot be a factor for such dislike.

He's a good player but no one can ever respect a man who spits in the face of his origins, do you ever see KP behave like an imbecile when it comes to his birth country? NO.

He's a South African national and plays for their team. Nothing awkward about his performance against Pakistan.
