Pakistan's options are limited and will largely depend on how Australia dictate them....

Rock and a hard place for Babar and Co.

How will Day 4 play out?

A long day ahead an embarrassing defeat on cards unlikely these deck of cards can stick together

The pitch is not turning square and to be fair it will not become Nagpur pitch or Chennai pitch of 99 or Calcutta 96 Semi final pitch.

The longer Aussies bat, better it is for Pakistan. Realistically they wilk declare after an hour, leaving Pak 170 overs to bat.

Test cricket is about mental strength. Are these players mentally tough rigid and have never say surrender attitude. Can they take blows on the body. Playing 170 overs is difficult but not impossible. It is all about application. Lyon is not muralitharan and Swampson is not Kumble.

Huge responsibility on Azhar, Babar and Fawad here. Playing out 170 overs at home is tough but doable.

Lead is 500 runs now. Very tough chase for pakistan. Aus going at 5 runs per over

A moment of silence for what we have witnessed over the last 24 hours...

All the new posts, all the criticism, everyone attacking Ramiz Raja.

And last and most notable, everything in Pakistan Cricket collapsing.

This is the most pathetic and spineless display i've seen from any team in a long long time. I just hope they lose 2-0.

Now is the time for negative bowling. Frustrate them and get wickets. Babar is a poor captain with clouded judgement. Expected better from him..

Australia shall be looking to bat till lead is 600 I guess, then go hard at Pakistani batting for 5 sessions/150 overs.

Pakistan need 506 runs in 172 overs. Australia have 172 overs to bowl our Pakistan . Will be tough task to survive these many overs.

PAK 148
AUS 556/9 d & 97/2 d (22.3) CRR: 4.31
Day 4: Innings Break - Australia lead by 505 runs

Surviving 172 over is gonna be tough unless some heroics from Fawad, Azhar and Babar. Don't have any hopes from the rest.

I cannot believe how much I overestimated Pakistan..... Everything about this series has been poor, such as:

- The pitches
- Terrible display by the Pakistani team,

&

- Last but not least, Waqar's commentary is down right horrible, the guy sounds like he just learnt how to speak English and struggles to put proper sentences together... Surely PCB could've had someone like Wasim or some other Pakistani in the commentary box..

The way Hassan and Shaheen celebrated showed that they only care about their individual stats.

They should be angry with themselves for letting Australia score 556 on a pitch where the Australian fast bowlers restricted Pakistan to 148.

Our players have a pathetic mentality and this comes from the leadership.

Shaheen celebration was more in anger. He looked angry at himself. Hassan Ali on the other hand is a complete fool.

Agreed, if there is anything which has changed in Pak cricket for last couple years, that is rating personal milestones higher than the end results.

It was baffling to see how the whole team looked content by drawing the 1st test, when there was a possibility of result.

Imam is not made for tests. The centuries were a false dawn in a test played on a road. Imran Farhat could have scored a double hundred there as well.

Mamoon bhai we really do deserve this humiliation

There is no need to single Imam out. No one in this batting lineup can handle pressure.

You can make a case for Fawad and Rizwan but they don’t have the technique to survive against Starc and Cummins.

They will bring the pacers back once they are at the crease.

Pathetic review from Imam.

Embarassing.

Imams still playing spin with technique from 70's with bat behind the pad hoping umpire wont give him out for being well forward

Australia should bat whole day and let Pakistan to chase 850+ on 5th day. 3 sessions are more than enough to bowl out these jokers.

Future saeed anwar always goes missing under pressure

Alot of people were fooled by his soft runs on road wickets domestically this season and in the 1st test. Otherwise him and Azhar are walking wickets.

I would bat positively and lose rather than block block for 170 overs. There is only 1 team in this series which is playing ugly and defensive cricket in this series. To add to that, Ramiz Raza is giving interviews on PSL. Does PCB even cares about test team? Why invite Aus if you don't care about test cricket. Feel sad for spectators in the stadium.

same negative mind set, tuk tuk. Let bowlers settle and just wait for a delivery to get out to.

It's like this since eternity and never have I seen this approach work in my 30 years of watching this sorry bunch, but they will still repeat the same mistake, the ultimate definition of insanity. And they still expect somehow this time outcome will be different. Nobody is asking to Gung ho but atleast try to bat normally at around 3 rpo and put away rubbish balls to put some pressure back on opposition.

Poor decision to declare. Australia should have batted another 50 overs and waited for the pitch to wear out even more all the while burying the Pakistan bowling attack. 120 overs would have been enough to bowl PAK out.

The problem with this approach is either it works or it doesnt.

But if it doesn't it leaves you 2 down with only 20 on the board after a gazillion overs.

we are bound to lose it anyway bar a miracle so atleast make it interesting and do down fighting and all guns blazing.

These are the matches that define a team. If we can save this test, we'll be genuine contenders to lift the WTC

Dr sahab 30 years and counting and yet to see this approach work for Pakistan.

The pitch is really dead.

How did Pakistan get bowled out for 148 here in the first place ? :13:

So what is Pakistan's gameplan here?

Blockathon for two days?

Imam scores two tons last match , needed him to stick around a little under pressure this test and he is gone.

To early to get reverse swing. Ball is just 20 overs old. We may see hint if RS post 30 overs.

20 overs are enough for reversing as per Azhar Mehmood.. Even 15 overs are enough... Thing is.. Ball is still hard.. As Pakistani batsman didn't play their shots completely

2nd Test • Australia tour of Pakistan, 2022

PAK 148 & 18/1 (21)

AUS 556/9 d & 97/2 d (22.3)

Day 4: Lunch Break - Pakistan need 488 runs

RR less than 1, so plan is clear. Blockathon for draw. Makes sense since no team has chased 500 ever in test cricket.
But they need to block for 5 sessions. Whereas Aus needs 9 balls in proper spot to take remaining wickets.
Big task ahead for Pak batsmen.

Pure cringe. They are 500 Infront and he is behaving like he won the match.

Yesterday Hasan, today Shaheen. Babar taking singles on first ball of every over and letting no. 9-10 to face Cummins-Starc.
All players playing for self only.

Wow What a pathetic display from Pakistan no shame in losing with fighting but this is beyond imagination is that their game plan, Saqlain et Al should be stripped from their coaching license also no disrespect to Moyo as a player but he has not zero but negative leadership skills his presser yesterday was demotivating like praising the opposition only
Should give a 3rd gig County cricketer the coaching role
