Seen Amla choking even in bilaterals in deciders and when the series is live.

Let's not get too silly about this.
To be fair, Root Kohli Smith Williamson have not played a world cup innings like that.
Closest is probably Williamson Vs SA in this edition, but that pitch was dead compared to edgbaston
Babar’s innings against New Zealand is more significant than anything Amla has produced under pressure, so the answer is a resounding yes.

KW was the only one needed to bat like that. Root almost got the team closer once with the help of Butler. A 230 run chase? Rohit sharma, Dhawan, Kohli , Smith, Warner, Finch so many guys would have gunned down. INfact Rohit sharma did in this very world cup. But from Babar's perspective this is definitely an elite innings as he is still evolving.

No . This pitch was tough to bat on. Very tough.
I'm not talking about pitches where you can plonk your front door down and just play through the line without worry.
This was testing pitch, testing bowlers, and 35-2 in a knockout situation.
Even if one of haris / Babar had gotten out before 70 runs needed, I think it would have been a tall order for a new bat to come and score run a ball.
Let's not ignore all this in the context
Mamoon, are we getting excited.. hehehe
Babar's innings against India in the CT final was also crucial and it prevented Pakistan from witnessing the traditional collapse against India in pressure games. I think he made 45 off 47 deliveries in that game.
Not really tough as you sound like. He was not really comfortable against Santner who had just one type of ball. Then he had to face Kane williamson and other bowlers. But i understand the pressure he had to face. You could say Haris Sohail relieved the pressure with one six. Then they took Santner off. It was followed by series of bizzarre bowling changes. Nobody knows why Monroe bowled. Actual hero in that partnership was Haris sohail who took on Santner, took on Boult.
Smith is 2015 semi final was brilliant.
I don’t think so. He rode on the momentum that the openers created and India was already on the back-foot. When the time case to accelerate, he perished. I think he did the bare minimum in that innings.
I'm talking about batting "off-road"
So on a difficult pitch in a difficult situation.
Smith's came in fairly standard conditions. Very good innings no doubt tho
Biased asf,yeh babar is a goat and chasing mamoth total of odd 240 he shook the world and pak cricket it self ,he is the best there os out there...
Kohli williamson who? They never played important knocks in wc imo when in all last 3 matches india won if it wasnt for kohlis runner ball 60-70 odd innings in 3 consicutive matches, they had lost to afg,wi...but hey babar the conqueror rules with this one inning with having scored 20 odd runs more than poor kohli with one more innings
I really think so. Because we all witnessed what happened when Babar fell in this world cup match against India. Similar platform as that in CT, Pakistan were 120-1 in 23 overs and barely crawled to 200 in the end.
If Babar had not played that innings in CT final, there is a high probability that Pakistan would have collapsed yet again. He played his role perfectly in a pressure game.
Why u getting hurt bro.
Such innings are few n far between. The moment there is something In the pitch for the bowlers, you don't see such hundreds chasing.
Last century was his first match winning century. It was certainly worth watching.
He played that pace attack really well.
In another must win game, can he stand against a world class spin attack, and successfully chase again.
Or, was it just a fluke.

Lol, don't know why people always tag us as flukers. It's all mamoon bhai fault. Babar century was not fluke. He is very consistent in scoring runs. Yes match winning knocks are not that much but he is learning.
Yes after getting dropped on 38 it really wasnt fluke
