umar amin should be immediately selected in the team...he can play modern day game...
 
umar amin is such an elegant batsman

if he performs extra ordinary he ll be selected
this is the one thing liked about inzy
yes he has failed to remove ttfs but at the same time he has selected very good youngsters

imam scores at a strike rate of 70
harris did the same in the few scores he had.
umar amin in his last two domestic odi tournaments was not in the top ten.

Having said all the above, the last two domestic tournaments were held in winter in tough batting conditions where lots of matches were abandoned. Its now close to summer, so definitely, better batting conditions now.
On the other hand in the under 23 tournament, Imam ul haq was still scoring at SR of 70 odd, and harris was in poor form.

two of these three are not international standard for odi.

i have also observed this thing
every new player who has been hyped or has been selected , they all have the same problem
they all will give u 100 of 120 deliveries
no one is capable of a 70 ball 100
basically pakistani batsman dont know the art of strike rotation

Well Rohit Sharma and Dilshan were failures for around 50 odd ODI matches. Their fortune changed once they started to open

Try Amin as opener. You have no real options right now

Umar Amin has loads of talent, class and elegance, He has shots and timings.

But hasn't made justice to his ability, His stance, balance are all so good.

Some people here were arguing with me about there being many others better than him.

first build a team to come up to 6th rank then think about top 3... now in the team we have shehzad and kamran to open... we need players to score runs not duds like kamran who can score 30 off 28 balls.... I will take that 100 off 120 balls even today in the modern day game...

Last two list A games he played. He played as opener: 9(9), 13 (38).
He is undeservedly in the limelight despite being obviously mediocre. Will get another shot an international cricket because he "looks elegant" and will fail.

Rohit Sharma List A Avg: 40.23
Dilshan List A: Avg: 39.54
Umari Amin List A Avg: 34.05

You have to earn your place on something other than looking elegant.

Sure we agree that Akmal and Shehzad should not be there. Next step is to pick batsmen who are actually trying to score at a strike rate of 90 or above over a prolonged period.
 
No need for hasty decisions, you can't select Umar Amin on basis of one cameo, we'll need to judge performance across the whole tournament.

I wrote 4-5 names and still think they are better than Amin who had his chances. How will you justify an avg of 12 and 19? Things is his defense is weak and he doesn't price his wicket. If he works on these things he will come good.

btw I wish Amin the best of luck, I have friends who have played with him in Pindi and his Dad used to come with him for practice. He is one of the biggest batting talent in Pindi/Islamabad area which is re-known to produce bowlers.
 
Now wait for Akmal to fail the entire tournament barring 3-4 games where he will score heavily only for his supporters to claim ''he's scoring at top of the charts''.

He is the captain, he could promote himself to open. He know Pakistan are looking for aggressive openers. but he is not smart enough or courageous enough for that.

This is average of 19 in 12 why I said he hasn't done justice to his talent, Even in domestic cricket.
 
For those watching....does Ghulam Mudassar look 17 years old?
because that's what his cricinfo bio says.

bro umar amin was selected for pak but he was not given proper chance. Further he was selected against test series against aus and eng in eng.

He got a few chances again in odis but he never really made an impact.

I hope he performs here and gets selected for champions trophy

yes he hasnt done justice with his talent that i agree with.
Needs to work on his defense and put a price on his wicket. sometimes too lazy.

I was always told by one of a guy whose brother used to play with amir babar azam etc. He said that umar amin was the real deal but dont know why he never delivers.

Lets hope he delivers
 
Hammad Azam in at 6. I know some here rate him, big chance for him at his local ground.

correction: never given a consistent run ... he and hammad are the biggest victims of hiding seniors behind dropping the youngsters during MISBAH era of odi captaincy....dave gave him the chance to open but not backed by MISBAH, dropped in the following series..

get proper batsmen and back them... they flourish in the long run... that is what we say investing in the right horse...eg: hashim amla...

Moin khan says he is 20.Does not matter right now he is atleast 2 seasons away from being remotley international standard also a high probablity may never amount to anything.
 
Most of Amin chances in 2013 were at 6


So many Pakistani batsmen destroyed like this.
