With the series already in the bag with two wins in two matches, Bangladesh would be looking to effect a clean sweep and move up the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League table.

Playing against a West Indies side devoid of their regular players, Bangladesh appear a confident unit and have already won the three-match ODI series 2-0. They have 20 points in the Super League standings and look good to accumulate more. Their performance in the first two ODIs was clinical, with the bowlers restricting the visitors to below 150 in both matches.

While there is a change in the venue, with the third match being played in Chattogram, Bangladesh would want to continue their winning momentum. With the series already won, they might look to experiment with their playing XI, giving a chance to the other players in the squad like the uncapped Mahadi Hasan and Saifuddin.


On the other hand, there are plenty of problems for West Indies. Their batsmen, especially, have struggled to put runs on the board in both games. Barring Rovman Powell, none have looked comfortable in the middle. The others will need to take inspiration from him to play out their full quota of overs. Their bowlers haven't got much to bowl at in the two matches but have still managed to get a few wickets. If they can put up a decent total, their bowlers will get the time to experiment.

Remember the last time:

West Indies chose to bat in the second ODI but it did not bring about any change in their fortunes. Like the first match, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Debutant Kjorn Ottley impressed with a cautious 24 but he failed to get any support from the top and middle order. Rovman Powell's 41 then propelled the visitors but they could manage only 148 runs before getting bowled out. Mehidy Hasan was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, taking four wickets for just 25 runs. In response, the hosts lost three wickets but a fifty from Tamim Iqbal and a 43* from returning star Shakib Al Hasan ensured that they scaled the target in just 33.2 overs.

Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh captain): "There is a lot of hunger in the dressing room, and there are people breaking the door down like Saif and Taskin. Good, healthy competition in the dressing room and they're working really hard in the nets, so no complaints."

Jason Mohammed (West Indies captain): "The spinners would always be a challenge, and we didn't build partnerships and lost wickets in clusters, so that's just not good enough. There's some positives, but hopefully some other guys put their hands up as well."

Don't think WI main players can be much better than this lot.Most of the WI players don't give more than 60% when playing for the country, but they may give 150% when it comes to overseas leagues like IPL, PSL, BPL, BBL....... Bunch of greedy individuals.

I also think about their level of commitment about their National side. These WI seniors ,each of them is a match winner. Gayle,Holder,Bravo, Russel,Sunil Narine, Braithwait, Pollard... They form a devastating limited overs team. They often wins matches single handedly for ther franchise. But when they get together they can't win anything.

Exactly!!! They only push themselves when there are lots of money involve. They save their energy for these foreign leagues. I think WICB should not give any central contract to any of their player. Since these players only use national tag for getting selected to these franchise leagues and prefer these leagues over national duty. Win win situation for board and players.

I see worrying signs for BD, Shakib, Tamim, Mushfiq and Mahmudullah are still carrying the team with the rest rarely pitiching in even at home. This series was the perfect opportunity for their youngsters to shine.

I agree with you. Apart from Saifuddin, all other youngsters haven't done anything significant. Nazmul Hossain Shanto has been a very big flop.
