Can you believe West Indies haven't won an ODI series since 2014?

Today they have a good chance, although Andre Russell is injured. Can Bangladesh recover from that choke in the 2nd match. Just over 3 hours to go for the start of the match!

I am just gonna watch the highlights for the new kid Shimron. That boy is something special.

Gayle will have to play an important role here , he is experienced player . He needs to take time and settle down first , 50 overs is a long time.

Bangladesh bowling is weak to defend this total in a small ground on a batting track. Rubel is the key here.He bowls rubbish. If he bowls well Bangladesh has a chance.

West Indies require 139 runs in 16 overs to win the match and thus the series. They have eight wickets in hand.

WI need one of these to take some calculative chances and bring back the required rate down a bit. They should not let that go beyond 8

Match is in crucial situtation , next 5 overs will be very very important for both teams

2 or 3 15+ run overs to bring the required rate down would make the game interesting. Can’t see it happening though. Hope I’m wrong.

Two things I’ve learned in cricket.

1) Never place enough faith in BD to believe they can NOT throw away a match after being in a dominant position.

2) Never place enough faith in the WI for them NOT to make a surreal comeback that requires an astonishing RR.

Looking at scorecard, Shai Hope and Hetmyer have batted slowly.

And Lewis. Would have been even worse if Gayle wasn't firing on the other end.

Lewis seems to have batted even terribly. How can an opener afford to score 13 off 33 in a 300+ chase without any fall of wicket?

Congratulations to BD posters for first ODI series win outside Asia after 2009.

They hardly play much outside Asia I think.

Good victory for BD.

But they have a bundle of improvements to be made...

Nothing to cheer about for BD fans.... Should have won all three matches against a poor ODI team. Better luck next time. Now BD should concentrate on asia cup win and throwing out all nonperformers from the team and giving chances to the new bunch.

Current WI team is not bad, they have some solid talents coming up. It was a good well contested series. Second loss ODI will help Bd to hamdle pressure situation better next time hopefully.

West Indies is transitioning at the moment, not declining. This was a good series win by BD team.

Bangladesh’s Rubel Hossain has received an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the deciding ODI against the West Indies on Saturday, which the visitors won by 18 runs in St Kitts to take the series by 2-1.

Rubel was found to have breached Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International Match”.

In addition to the reprimand, one demerit point has been added to the fast bowler’s disciplinary record. Rubel now has two demerit points after he had received one demerit point for showing dissent during the second T20I against Afghanistan in Dehradun in last month. As such, he now has two demerit points against his name.

The incident happened in the 28th over of the Windies’ run-chase when Rubel used an inappropriate word, which was picked up by the stump mic, after Shimron Hetmyer edged him for a boundary.

After the end of the match, Rubel admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Chris Broad of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires S. Ravi, and Joel Wilson, third umpire Richard Illingworth Nigel Duguid Marais Erasmus and fourth umpire Nick Cook.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.

Good fightback from Bangladesh after that mauling in the Tests.

The saddest part for me was that the stadium was almost empty to see the decider.

Good win. Thanks to all PP posters who posted their good thoughts.

Several issues that need to be worked on for BD to be a better ODI side (some of them inter-related).
