The fourth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League will start this Tuesday in accordance with the new schedule. This was announced by the BPL governing council in a press conference in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

The decision was taken due to the inclement weather caused by the depression at Bay of Bengal. Weather forecasts are suggesting that it will continue to rain on Sunday and Monday. Keeping that in mind, the GC decided to change the fixture.

Saturday and Sunday’s matches will be shifted to the gap days of the previous fixture. Both of Friday’s games on the opening day were called off without a ball being bowled. It was learned that Khulna Titans and Rangpur Riders have agreed for a re-match while holders Comilla Victorians and Rajshahi Kings are still undecided over whether they will share the points or contest a re-match.

Pretty ridiculous that teams can either rematch or share points, this should've been decided before the tournament even started. Makes the whole thing seem really thrown together when two teams want to rematch and the other two may not.

Extremely unprofessional. But a good decision for the fans considering this is only a T/20 league and not International Cricket. The fans get what they want.

Either the whole tournament should start again with the schedule starting again or the points should be shared, no rematch BS.

Either the matches of the 4 days are all tied or all restarted, not selective matches

5 of the 6 matches have been rescedhuled.

The opening match wasn't rescedhuled because one of the teams weren't in favor of it. However, professionally they have the right to do so and the match will be considered a tie which can happen anyways not an issue. But this lack sportsmanship spirit. But the decisions are made by the franchisee themselves and not by the coaching and management.

I think its bad luck that a cyclone had to hit during the BPL. Usually it doesn't rain at all in November.

The BPL was always an unprofessional league, so no surprises here.

By doing this they just show that its managment is a gali mohalla type one.

Problem isnt the result, problem is would the players be paid for the rained off games or not

Untimely depression (weather) that no one calculated is the reason.

Can anyone predict an earth quake or off season depressions?

Good that all matches would be replayed.

And about the the management issue. If I can remember correctly, some matches were moved away from Mumbai during a certain IPL due to water crisis. Now there is nothing to do when such issues happen. The weather isn't under BCB's control.

Losing 4 matches is not a good thing overall and BCB made the right call to rescedhule them
