Next gen is taking over for other teams England, SA, INdia, Australia. IN terms of experience everyone is equal now. They still can't compete. India's top six that beat England has an average of 29 tests experience. Bangladesh top six that lost to zimbabwe in a test has an average of 49 test experience.

Hasaranga ruled out of Bangladesh T20I series due to injury

The leg spinner sustained a hamstring injury on his right leg while batting during the final ODI against Bangladesh in the recently concluded series

Sri Lanka will be without their ace spinner Wanindu Hasaranga in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, scheduled to begin from Thursday, 10 July.

Hasaranga, who played a pivotal role in the ODI series to help Sri Lanka turnaround the game in the first ODI against Bangladesh inflicting a record collapse, picked up an injury during the final ODI.

The hosts, who clinched the ODI series 2-1, will not be opting for a replacement for Hasaranga while he will return to Colombo to commence his rehabilitation process at the High Performance Center.

Charith Asalanka will lead the Sri Lankan side, who have made a number of changes to their T20I squad, after losing to New Zealand early this year.

Bangladesh Bounce Back in Style to Level T20I Series in Dambulla

After being thoroughly outplayed in the opening match at Pallekele, the visitors responded with three key changes and delivered a near-perfect performance to level the series.

Opting to bat first, Bangladesh posted a competitive 177 before dismantling Sri Lanka for just 94 — their lowest T20I total against Bangladesh and their heaviest defeat to the Tigers in the format. It also marked Sri Lanka’s lowest-ever T20I score at home.

Chasing what seemed a modest target on a decent surface, Sri Lanka never found their footing. Their innings crumbled in just 15.2 overs as wickets fell in quick succession, with the top order collapsing under pressure.

The downfall began with in-form Kusal Mendis, whose casual approach to a single saw him run out by a sharp direct hit from Shamim Hossain — a pivotal moment that triggered the collapse. Sri Lanka slumped to 30 for 4 inside the Powerplay.

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain tightened the noose, picking up three crucial wickets and halting any hopes of a Sri Lankan comeback. Only two batters reached double digits as the middle order fell apart, while Bangladesh’s fielders were electric in the field, throwing themselves around with energy and intent.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh also had a shaky start, losing both openers within the first two overs. But captain Litton Das rose to the occasion, crafting his 12th T20I half-century — a fluent 76 off 50 balls, laced with one four and five sixes. He survived two chances on 30 and 56, both off Jeffrey Vandersay’s bowling, and made Sri Lanka pay for the missed opportunities.

Litton found solid support in Shamim Hossain, and the pair added 77 runs off just 39 balls for the fifth wicket. Shamim played the aggressor’s role, smashing 48 off 27 deliveries, including five boundaries and two massive sixes, injecting much-needed momentum into the innings.

Sri Lanka’s only bright spot was left-arm seamer Binura Fernando, who returned career-best T20I figures of 3 for 31.

Litton Das was named Player of the Match for his match-defining knock in front of a packed crowd in Dambulla. The series now heads to Colombo for the decider on Wednesday.
