@topspin there needs to be awareness raised and an enquiry into this selection of Faham ul Haq into the Pakistan u19 squad.

Didn't know Misbah had a son who played cricket but if he's in the squad simply because he is Misbah's son then its deplorable and should be condemned.
Maybe I am wrong, maybe he has credible FC performances. What are they? I guess you wouldn’t know because you didn’t know his son was in the system but I’m sure there are other Misbah supporters who will know

@Mohraheem @mominsaigol

I’ve heard Misbah’s son was picked for the u19 squad

Can someone please share what are his performances and where has he made them to earn this call up?

@RedwoodOriginal @Major @shariqnoor @Kianig89 @RidiculousMan @Extra_Cover
The little I have seen of his son. He's far worse than his dad and that says something. I don't know about his performances but I got a feeling his selected due to connections. Hope I am wrong if he actually is selected based on performance.

Pirchi v2 in making… Misbah paying out in PcB TO SELECT HIS KID! That’s the whole reason why Misbah is not leaving Pakistan cricket. His mission is ruin Rizwan’s career and bring his kid into the international side! But I’m ready… things are going to get ugly with any poster who supports this

Situation with Misbah's son is disgraceful but aside from that I'm looking forward to the further development of Ali Raza.
He is actually a good talented pace bowling all rounder, is tall strongly built and steams in when bowling and even though he hardly bowls more than 80mph but is very aggressive in bowling and some of his wickets were due to extra pace , plus he is a stylish and technically correct batter and opens the innings and already scored couple of tons in grade II cricket , not a bad talent or nepotistic selection at all.

Just because he is Misbah Son that doesn’t mean he is a parchi , I can easily say that he is more talented than Ahmed Hussain the pace bowling allrounder we played in U19 worldcup , search on YouTube first before crying parchi parchi

A guy who is a technically correct opener and has scored tons and also has a built for fast bowling and is tall and can bowl a heavy delivery is the most rare breed in cricket, that alone should remove the parchi tag.

Faham has scored a century in the national u19 cup. Not sure if he is parchi or not but if you can score a century then you are some player for sure.

Let's see what he has got.

plus he has beautiful and smooth action and can ball pacy effort delivery as well plus he is tall and well built as well. Just search on him YouTube.

He opened the bowling with Ubaid Shah in some games while opening the batting in the same match.

And in one grade II game he opened the batting for his team and scored 78 and then opened the bowling and got 3 wickets. Not sure a parchi can do that.

This is one year ago , still looks 75-77mph here but now he has gone seriously quicker and has become well built , videos are available on YouTube but not clear enough like this one so I didn’t post it.

I will not rate these wickets even 1/10. unknown league.. But yeah, he has some good scores in national u19 cup and some wickets as well.

Cannot judge him without seeing him live.

Looks seriously quick here with bounce and has become well built as well , action has changed completely, looks like a proper U19 bowler.

We don’t need him playing for Pakistan. We can give some other kid a chance. We don’t want corrupt players in Pakistan

So someone called him a parchi without having seen him. And the other thing to mention is that he will be genuinely the age he claims, which won't be true for more than 1/2 of them.

He will just get this series and an Asia cup after that he will become 20 so not eligible for U19 World Cup.

Let him enjoy this run

na, he has good u19 stats and is an allrounder.

The whining is by the usual haters.

The most hilarious whining was by Faisal Iqbal, out of all the people. He is picking fights with everyone, and people are saying that Faham has u19 stats that back his selection and is infact a batting allrounder that bowls pace.

The Group A matches of the 50-over event will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) while the Group B matches will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium (SCS).

The top two sides from each group will play the semi-finals scheduled on 6 December, while the final will take place at the DICS on 8 December. Among the 15-member squad, four players – Mohammad Riazullah, Saad Baig, Shahzaib Khan and Tayyab Arif have featured for Pakistan in the last edition of U19 Asia Cup held at the UAE in December 2023.

Pakistan, before beginning their journey in the tournament, has been in Dubai for three weeks as they featured in the U19 tri-series featuring Afghanistan and UAE. Although they finished runners-up to Afghanistan in the final, the tournament provided valuable experience and warm-up to the team.

During the course of the tournament, Pakistan players tried to make full use of the conditions as opening batters Shahzaib Khan (330 runs, five matches, 1x100,3x50s) and Usman Khan (314 runs, five matches, 1x100, 3x50s) finished among the top three batters in the event. Similarly, in the bowling chart, right-arm fast bowlers Abdul Subhan and Ali Raza bagged nine wickets each as they too ended among the top three bowlers.

Saad Baig talking to PCB Digital on the eve of the tournament, said:

“We have been in Dubai for a few weeks now and had a good outing in the tri-series tournament. Even though we couldn’t win the final, it provided players a great opportunity to acclimatise to the conditions and now we are ready for the Asia Cup.

“The coaching staff has been there to guide us, and the players are fully committed to putting in their best efforts. We all understand the significance of this tournament, and everyone is motivated to give their best when an opportunity arises.

“All the teams in the tournament are strong and we know it will be a tough competition. But with that challenge comes the opportunity for our players to showcase their best. Our focus will be on executing our plans and staying consistent throughout the tournament.”

Bangladesh U-19s Secure 45-Run Win Over Afghanistan U-19s in Opening Clash

Bangladesh Under-19s emerged victorious in a tense opening encounter of the Asian Cricket Council Under-19s Asia Cup, defeating Afghanistan Under-19s by 45 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on November 29, 2024.

Batting first, Bangladesh posted a challenging total of 228/9 in their 50 overs. Skipper Azizul Hakim played a match-winning knock of 103 runs off 133 balls, anchoring the innings with well-paced strokeplay. Kalam Siddiki also contributed with a solid 66 from 110 balls. Afghanistan's bowlers, led by Abdul Aziz (2/29) and Ghazanfar (1/25), kept the scoring under control but couldn’t contain the Bangladesh middle order.

In reply, Afghanistan’s chase faltered early with key wickets falling at regular intervals. Faisal Khan Ahmadzai's aggressive 58 off 58 balls and Naseer Khan Maroofkhil’s 34 were the highlights, but a tight bowling performance from Bangladesh saw them lose wickets consistently. Iqbal Hossain Emon (3/40) and Al Fahad (3/36) were the standout bowlers for Bangladesh, ensuring Afghanistan was bowled out for 183 in 47.5 overs.

Sri Lanka Triumph by 55 Runs in a Tight Encounter with Nepal - Mens U19 Asia Cup 2024

Sri Lanka emerged victorious in a tightly contested match against Nepal in the Asian Cricket Council Men's Under-19s Asia Cup, securing a 55-run win at Sharjah

Lakvin Abeysinghe added a valuable 50 off 53 balls, while Kavija Gamage's unbeaten 37 helped push the total to a challenging figure. Nepal's bowlers, particularly Santosh Yadav (4/45) and Yuvraj Khatri (2/44), fought hard but couldn't restrict Sri Lanka to a lower total.

Chasing 234, Nepal struggled to build partnerships. Mayan Yadav's gritty 62 was the highlight of their innings, but the Sri Lankan bowlers kept taking regular wickets. Praveen Maneesha was the star with the ball, picking up 3 wickets for 30 runs, while Newton Ranjithkumar (2/17) and Kugadas Mathulan (2/21) also played key roles. Nepal was eventually bowled out for 178 in 46.2 overs, falling short by 55 runs.

Bangladesh Ease Past Nepal in a 5-Wicket Victory - Mens U19 Asia Cup 2024

Bangladesh secured a comfortable 5-wicket win over Nepal in a low-scoring encounter, chasing down a target of 142 in just 28.4 overs at the ongoing tournament. Electing to field first, Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack restricted Nepal to a modest 141 runs in 45.4 overs.

Nepal’s innings struggled to find momentum, with opener Aakash Tripathi top-scoring with a gritty 43 off 77 balls. Uttam Magar (29) and Abhisekh Tiwari (29) tried to stabilize the innings but couldn’t overcome Bangladesh’s tight bowling. Rizan Hossan (2/8) and Md Rafi Uzzaman Rafi (1/15) bowled economical spells, while Iqbal Hossain Emon and Al Fahad picked up two wickets each to ensure Nepal’s middle and lower order offered little resistance.

In reply, Bangladesh started cautiously but found a match-winner in opener Zawad Abrar, who scored a fluent 59 off 65 balls, striking 5 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Azizul Hakim anchored the chase with a composed 52 not out, despite a 4-wicket haul from Nepal’s Yuvraj Khatri. Bangladesh faced minor hiccups in the middle order but eventually cruised to the target.

Sri Lanka Outclass Afghanistan with a Dominant 131-Run Victory - Mens U19 Asia Cup 2024

Sri Lanka showcased a commanding performance, defeating Afghanistan by 131 runs in a one-sided encounter. After electing to bat first, Sri Lanka posted a solid total of 243/7 in their 50 overs, thanks to a brilliant century from Sharujan Shanmuganathan, who scored 102 off 132 balls. Pulindu Perera chipped in with a steady 53, while Afghanistan’s AM Ghazanfar impressed with figures of 3/35.

Afghanistan’s chase never gained momentum, as Sri Lanka’s bowlers wreaked havoc. Viran Chamuditha set the tone early with 2/14 from his 8 overs, while Praveen Maneesha cleaned up the tail, finishing with 3/16. Captain Vihas Thewmika contributed with 2/10, ensuring Afghanistan were bowled out for a paltry 112 in just 28.2 overs.

Sri Lanka’s all-round dominance secured them a resounding win, with Shanmuganathan’s century and the bowling unit’s collective effort standing out. This victory cements Sri Lanka’s strong position in the tournament as they continue their campaign.

Most of Afghan players don’t look they are u19.I have no medical evidence to back my claim but this is my impression.I have nothing against Afghans. They look much older.

If Bangla boys continue playing like this, they would end up with a nothing target.

Is Indian bowling good or it is all about bowling first in uae is crucial?

It’s a decent total for Under 19 level cricket.

Let’s hope for another Vaibhav Suryavanshi special

Indians are favourites here. Below par score. 250 was bare minimum

Already 2 down for 20 something.

Like I said before 200 is generally not a very bad score at this age level.

I had high hopes for Vaibhav but he failed again.

Bangla boys on top. 2/26

Bangla boys are not making it easy at all for the indian batters.

3 down now 45
