What's new

Bangladesh v England | 1st Test | Chittagong | Oct 20-24, 2016 | Day 3

Looks like boys are going to lose a tight battle for a horrible session. This match was lost probably on day 1, even before the toss - being host, it was a horrible decision to make it a 9 men team on that surface - Mushi & Hathura must explain why 2 pacers instead of Mosandek for one of them.

It's a great learning experience for this young team with few key moments. The harsh truth in Test cricket is you have to keep focus on every minute till the 40th wicket - boys got a bit excited with England at 106/5 & then 61/5 - basically you have won a Mickey Mouse game on that point, but not Test. Not reviewing Moeen was a mistake, but I won't go much on to that; neither on toss - rather the 3 blunders that cost us is team selection, dropping Jhony at 120/5 in 1st innings & finally losing the last pair at 221 on either side of the night.

Still miracles do happen & there is always something for a first time. I'll definitely watch tonight to cheer for the boys - you did make us happy, now there is a chance to make us proud. Whatever, the game must not go to day 5 - go after the Poms & target 294 in 80 overs or bust.

A fast start to the innings could be key. It would put the pressure on England and your players would know they have a genuine chance of winning. After all, this England attack is nothing special and the spinners are quite expensive which you must take advantage of.

Well played Bangladesh. Real respect is earned by performing well in test matches and Bangladesh definitely earned some well deserved respect points in this match.
