Seriously, how many teams can survive an entire ODI on this wicket? Even our real team would find it tough going.

No idea how the first ODI was a cakewalk in comparison.

Saffer test team with Smith, Kallis,AB,Amla,Du Plessis maybe but that's it.

If Bangles play on this deck for five years worth they'll be a top team, though they'll get slayed in the sub-continent.

Yeah, I was talking about an ODI though. South Africa are relatively hopeless in the format. Especially du Plessis and Kallis.

Many test sides can pull this off. Pujara sticking out there 7 (23) is a glimpse. It's characters like Uthappa and his IPL buddies for whom this task is beyond any realistic possibility.

I'm off. Hope it gets like the day before and I watch them plod through 20/9.

Allow me to rephrase for the dimmer ones amongst you:

We don't have a 'dismal' record in the UK, our 2011 loss was in fact the first loss to England either here or there since the mid-90s. The series played in England in 2002 and 2007 were drawn and won respectively, and the ones in India in 2002, 2006 and 2008 were won, drawn and won in that order, all against the Queen's finest.

We do need to prepare for the upcoming 2014 series better though, yes. At the foothills of the Himalayas? No.

Nuts and bolts argument overall.

Serious comprehension problems it seems.

If the BCCI had desired to improve upon the team's dismal record in the U.K, it would've organized special training camps at Chherapunji where it keeps raining almost throughout the year, & the temperature also remains similar to England. Or else anywhere on the foothills of the Himalayas.

But I guess they are ok with being humiliated again & again on overseas tours just like last time.

Practice in Cherrapunji? What an absolutely absurd suggestion.

What next, playing in dust bowl so practice in Thar? Ludicrous.

That's the problem, folks don't think their arguments through before typing it out. Other than that style_guru is a decent poster.

Which place in India has the climate which resembles that of U.K most closely? Which place is called Scotland of the east & for what reason?

Shillong, but I doubt there are m(any) cricket facilities out there.

The best way to practice for cricket in England is by playing in England for the county stuff. Gambhir had a stint a while back, but all of our recently retired players also featured in county teams circa the late-90s/early-2000s. That helped them cope in other countries as well, even vastly different Australia where we were whitewashed in 1999.

Of course, for this to happen we need to trash the IPL and that's easier said than done.

Bangladesh going for the kill but not quite able to, they wont have pacers for the last overs,
India might very well recover to 200

why is kedhar jadav not playing he should have given a chance along with rasool

High scores of india's lower order:

Saha : 5
Binny:3
A. Patel: 8
M Sharma: 8
U yadav: 17

Any time in history has such a weird batting tail???

why india playing with 3 bowlers and binny

so raina backed himself to bowl 8 overs

Call me crazy but I reckon Warner could have done well here.

Ponting fan? :13:

It's blasphemous to say so, but I actually got tired of my Tendu avatar :23:

And nothing crazy about the choice, hard-hitters would do better on this pitch.

Like this new avatar much more :ponting

This series is as bad as that Kiwi tour of 2002 - teams aren't supposed to get bowled out for 99 and 97, or in this case 105 and 58. These are hardly low scoring thrillers (which would be 140 chasing 160), just faulty curation.

Lol remember that series, pitch was the same colour as the outfield
Sehwag got 2 centuries in 7 odi and no one got a single one

Too many runs for Bangladesh I reckon, India should win it quite easily from here.

Sir Binny's presence has made up for Sir Jadeja's absence. Good innings so far.

what the heck is with these Bengali pitches :13:
Even a full string Indian batting line up will struggle to put 200 on the board however the Indians have won this match...118 is more than enough for :shakib and co.

Man again low score. Is it again a binny sixfer pitch? bcz if it is then expect bangladesh to throw their wickets again.

Take away for Bangladesh from this series is they bowled mighty Indian batting lineup to a meager total twice.

But i doubt they will ever want to remember this series after it is over

Mighty? It's a second string lineup.

The pitch has seam movement, variable bounce and a lot of spin. So there is no proper technique to bat. Hence, there is no question of Bangla being a top team by playing on this surface.

he might carry his bat 100 in unlikely if he scores a 100 here he could be the next :afridi

So that's it for the series. India have won 2-0, but I don't think either side will be too pleased. Bangladesh for obvious reasons, but they've discovered an exciting fast-bowling talent in Taskin Ahmed. India would have wanted their second string to get a proper opportunity to show their ODI mettle. They got one shortened target, and two low-scoring games (one incomplete) on a highly atypical ODI pitch. There's no way you can judge a player's true potential by watching him bat or bowl on that. Scheduling the series at this time of the year, when everyone knew the monsoons were sweeping through the country, doesn't seem a very bright idea.

Plz stop hyping Taskin, on a pitch where Binny took 6/4,
I would discount his effort like some of the flat pitch centuries by Sehwag, Raina etc.

IF Batsman are FTB, pitches like these create Swing paradise Bullies out of bowlers.
Let him perform on actual playable pitches, not minefield against second string side.
