What's new

Bangladesh vs Pakistan | 2nd ODI | Dhaka | 19th April | Pakistan Innings

Very few times do i get to say this about pakistan. But "amazing running"

I'm liking Nasim. Wrong to judge a player off one game like always.

I can't tell you how much pleasure I get when I see young batsmen for Pakistan turning it around. It's a rare sight but it certainly warms my heart.

Who are you ? Imran khan ? Or you have the eye for a future? Selector maybe ? The guy has worked hard to earn his spot and people like you sit at home and criticise every single thing

I think I'm a decent judge of individuals, and unlike others I credited him for his composure and cricketing IQ before he seems to have that knack of punching above his weight like he's doing now, but players like him won't take the team anywhere. It's delusional to think that he will be a top class player with hard work and all that.

Saad expectedly punching above his weight since he's a thinking cricketer, but I would insist that he does not have the quality to be a prolific international cricketer.

Useful squaddie though.

Reminds me of the T20 when he played and hit 50 plus in Lahore Lions in Champions League T20 Cricket and was still castigated for not being good enough.

He will always be non-convincing no matter what he does.

Was in two minds. Very bad time to get out. Should be given a stern talk in the dressing room.

Haris throws it away yet again. Clearly in the school of Maqsood and Akmal.

How many talks does he need? Everyone's been talking about it for a while now and he does it again

Harris Sohail as usual, after all the hard work give away wickets after 40 runs. When he will learn to convert those starts :(

He failed, just like Hafeez and Sarfraz and Rizwan and Azhar? Can't score every game now can you?

Hafeez? Hafeez shouldn't even be in the team and if he is his batting abilities are only slightly better than afridi's sarfraz failed rizwan failed not sure azhar failed... but its not his failure its how much at sea he is when at crease ... he can't seem to be able to put bat to ball ...

Players like him are useful, but not a in very weak team like ours. He's a Yardy, Binny etc. type utility cricketer at best. Not good enough for a permanent spot in the playing XI in any format.

Need to defend 200 I reckon. Bangladesh bowlers are rampant

What were thoughts about steve smith ? Look how he transformed into a match winner! You need to judge players even when they are not good looking unlike you do with your umar akmal stuff and make judgments on their cricketing abilities! Saad is a solid player and can deliver under crunch situations ! He can work hard and become pretty handy for pakistan i am sure

I agree. Its getting frustrating now. What more frustrating is that he hardly gets out caught behind, lbw or bowled. Its always due to his own mistake. Seems to negotiate the good balls pretty well.

In other news, Shane Watson has lost focus on his IPL game coz Wahab the destroyer has entered the ground.

Good point about Steve Smith. However, I think Smith's a freak and is an exception

Bangladeshi's smart in not provoking Riaz today. Lets see how long that lasts.

It's delusional to compare him to a world class player like Smith.

Nasim would be a useful utility cricketer at best. Poor man's Malik. That has been obvious since we saw him play in the CLT20.

Why is it an exception? Similar type of players but I think saad is a better batsman than smith before smith started concentrated on his batting ! Has good variety of shots ! Not a power hitter but a good accumulator

Because of his mental fortitude, I'd like to think he'd have a better career than even Akmal or some other cricketers like Hafeez, if given the proper chance.

It's all about mental courage in cricket nowadays.

If you work hard, you can improve in batting anyways.

For instance, you like Rizwan, and I feel he is another version of Maqsood.

I like cricketers like Saad, who don't really look good, but always come to the party when chips are down.

Fawad would have been another but he was miserable most days when his areas were plugged.

Saad doesn't have such problems.

It's rough to judge someone who is probably nervous and doesn't look ready in 1st match. 2nd match and he has already played better than most Pakistani batsmen and still is only utility for you.

Maybe it will take him 10-20 matches to convince you, but I like people who are strong mentally more than aesthetically pleasing.
