Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Saturday said the recently conducted general elections had been a step towards promoting democracy in the country.In a statement, the premier said, “Significant turnout from all segments of society, including both genders, has been acknowledged internationally.”
“Post elections, it is imperative that all stakeholders realise that victory and defeat are inherent aspects of democratic processes,” he added.
Kakar said that parties and individuals who harboured any concerns regarding electoral irregularities were encouraged to pursue legal recourse through the available channels. “Pakistan’s legislative, judicial, and executive branches are resilient and stand ready to deliver impartial justice to all.”
The PM said, “While peaceful protest and assembly are fundamental rights, any form of agitation, violence or incitement for vigilantism will not be condoned and law would take its course without any hesitation.”
“Anarchy and disorder will not be tolerated at this crucial time. This only serves to advance the agenda for hostile forces, both domestic and foreign, to exploit and create grave law and order challenges.”
PM Kakar said, “Caretaker government implores patience, as political parties engage in consultations to form governments at both the federal and provincial levels, in accordance with democratic traditions and norms.”
“We hope that this process concludes as early as possible with mutual understanding and respect,” he added.

State to deal with 'violent trolls' targeting 'noble' bureaucrats, says caretaker PM
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Monday stated that the state would defend civil servants in discharging their constitutional duties and take action against “violent trolls” involved in blackmail and coercion.In a statement, the premier said that the people of Pakistan had spoken with a clear voice on Feb 8 and had given a split mandate.
“Some elements, with a proven track record of violent behaviour and vigilantism, are now using different tricks, including weaponisation of social media in blackmailing, vigilantism and pressuring civil servants to switch their loyalties from the state of Pakistan to a violent gang,” he said.
Such action, he said, was a clear violation of the Article 5 and other articles of the constitution and the laws of the land.
“The state of Pakistan shall defend the civil servants in discharging their constitutional duties, act against these violent trolls and ensure exemplary punishment to them.”
PM Kakar said that there should be no doubt about the government’s commitment to the noble civil servants serving the state and the people of Pakistan.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has ceased official tasks and returned all pending summaries awaiting his approval, citing the imminent swearing-in of the new federal government.
Kakar said all pending decisions and summaries will now be deferred to the incoming government. “We are simply awaiting the new government’s inauguration,” he stated. “Furthermore, we will provide the new administration with a comprehensive briefing on our activities and projects.”
Controversy arose over the National Assembly's inaugural session on Sunday when President Dr Arif Alvi declined to green-light its commencement apparently due to non-allocation of reserved seats to the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).
The SIC, a lesser-known political entity, emerged as the major party in the National Assembly and the provincial legislature of Punjab after independent candidates affiliated with PTI joined it last week.
The standoff escalated as the PML-N argued that, following the February 29 deadline expiration, the NA speaker could independently convene the session. However, a former Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) official dismissed this assertion.
The caretaker parliamentary affairs ministry had sent President Alvi a summary urging the NA session's commencement on Monday.
Despite the plea, President Alvi invoked his constitutional authority to delay the session by 15 days, expressing concerns about the completion of the reserved seats allocation process.

Caretaker PM Kakar appears before IHC in Baloch students recovery case
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has appeared before the Islamabad High Court in a case related to the non-recovery of Baloch students.
The hearing of the case related to the non-recovery of Baloch students has started in the Islamabad High Court, with Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani conducting the hearing. The caretaker premier has appeared before the court today after skipping his appearance despite being summoned by the court in the last two hearings.
On the previous hearing, the Islamabad High Court had ordered the caretaker prime minister, ministers, and secretaries to appear, while a three-member committee comprising intelligence institutions had also been formed for the recovery of the missing Baloch students.
Apart from the caretaker prime minister, the interior secretary, caretaker federal Interior Minister Gohar Ijaz have also appeared in the high court.
The hearing
At the outset of the hearing, Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan told the court that four students were yet to be traced and could not be found yet, at this the students' lawyer, Advocate Imaan Mazari, said that according to her information, the number was nine.
Justice Kayani remarked that the court was looking at the case only to the extent of Baloch students. It has been claimed that some students have become a part of the TTP, some have returned home and others could not be traced. As the case progressed, some people returned. "The institutions are not above the law," he added.
The court then asked if any new people, in addition to the old list, had gone missing.
Kakar suggested not to profile the students on the basis of language, adding that there were flaws in the system; if there was no evidence, no one could be punished. "Paramilitary forces and counter-terrorism agencies are blamed, but I am explaining only about the missing persons. When asked about the missing persons, they give 5,000 names. They don't want this issue to be solved themselves.
'One law, everyone has rights'
The court said that there was undoubtedly a war and the army and institutions were valiantly fighting, but the law is one and everyone has certain rights.
The caretaker PM said that the state should be saved from daily accusations, adding that they did not take up arms because the state had guaranteed their rights, and the Constitution guaranteed everyone’s security; the Constitution also bound them to be unconditionally loyalty to the state.
The court noted that no court was protecting any non-state actor. Abiding by the law is the duty of every citizen, and credit went to the government as only eight people were left out of 59.
Justice Kayani then cited the example of journalist Matiullah Jan being picked up, saying there was no need to go to Balochistan as there were exampled from Islamabad also. At this, the prime minister remarked that action should be taken against anyone who took such a step.
Advocate Imaan Mazari rejected the impression that this case was part of any propaganda against the state. “We are also a part of the same state and never support terrorism. This is very painful for the families of the missing persons. It is unfortunate that when it comes to missing persons, the debate turns to terrorists,” she argued.
The AGP objected to the petitioner responding to the prime minister. At this, Justice Kayani asked to listen to her point first. The lawyer said they did not support extremism, but the reports of the commission stated that institutions were involved in enforced disappearances.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has vacated the Prime Minister House and moved on to the Ministers’ Enclave in the federal capital.
Kakar has been allotted bungalow number 15 in the enclave.
The elections for the new prime minister are scheduled to be held on Sunday (today). After taking oath of the office the new premier will move on to the PM House.
The coalition candidate for the office of prime minister, PML-N's Shehbaz Sharif, and the PTI nominee for the post, Omar Ayub, submitted their nomination papers on Saturday.
Leaders of coalition parties including Khawaja Asif, Khurshid Shah, Attaullah Tarar and Tariq Bashir Cheema were present to submit Shehbaz's papers.
For PTI, party leaders Asad Qaiser, Aamir Dogar, Ali Muhammad, and Barrister Gohar Khan were in attendance to submit Ayub's nomination papers

Kakar brushes off wheat scandal as 'media circus'
QUETTA: In a bid to ‘set the record straight’, former caretaker premier Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Tuesday brushed off the wheat scandal as nothing more than a “media-driven spectacle”.Accompanied by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Kakar denounced what he deemed a baseless witch hunt targeting his administration.
In an exclusive chat with this scribe, Kakar also made it clear that he refuses to accept the wheat scandal as a pressing issue, adding that it was only a product of media sensationalism and political mudslinging.
"There has been no healthy discussion in this regard," the former caretaker premier said.
He also called into question the validity of the accusations as there was “no concrete evidence” supporting the claims. "On one hand, allegations were levelled against us, and on the other hand, a legal thing was deliberately made illegal.”
Furthermore, Kakar pointed to the lack of genuine scrutiny regarding the profit margins and price ranges associated with the alleged misconduct, stressing there was a need to approach the issue with rationality and discernment.
"Was it possible to earn Rs85 billion just within six months?" he said, urging the public to critically assess the validity of such claims.
"Unnecessarily, I am being criticized," he lamented, decrying what he perceived as “a concerted effort to tarnish his reputation” and undermine his legacy.
He also dismissed reports suggesting his dismissal of the significance of Form-47, categorically denouncing such claims as "rubbish."
