And when u look at PCB contracts, u have Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik in top Category

I heard someone say that MSD has been excluded from the top tier as he no longer plays tests.

We have a thread regarding Mohammad Shami incident in TPS, don't post anything regarding that in this thread as no official word from BCCI

I think only Kohli and Bumrah deserves the A+ category, as they have already cemented their spots in every format.

BCCI has also encouraged the domestic players by raising their Match fee by almost 200 percent in each category

Dhawan and Bumrah deserve to be in A+. Rohit should have been in A. He has become a hit or miss player.
Pandya should have been in A considering his work load.

I can tag everyone who were making fun of BCCI’s finances the other day :). But there’s actually a big issue here. 5 players in A+ category getting 7 crores each. That’s more than the profit Najam Sethi expects to get from this year’s PSL! The difference is too big and the other boards should try to reduce this gap.

Not a day too soon for Indian cricketers to get contracts worthy of representing the wealthiest cricket board. At Rs 7 crores and 5 crores (USD 1.1 million and USD 850K approx), players in A+ and A grade such as Murali and Pujara or others without an IPL contract can feel a little better compensated for their efforts.

Shikhar Dhawan Gets 1400 Per Cent Hike, Virat Kohli 350 Per Cent, and we happy with 30% hike

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced a new contract system and compensation structure for Indian cricket that will see the cricketers earn a lot more than what they used to in previous years. The biggest winners from the newly-announced list were India skipper Virat Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan. Kohli received a pay hike of 350 per cent while Dhawan got a mindboggling 1400 per cent hike. Dhawan was upgraded from last year's Grade C to a newly-introduced Grade A+. Former India captain MS Dhoni was relegated to the second tier, Grade A. Despite the grade-wise demotion, Dhoni will get a significant hike of 150 per cent.
Kohli along with Rohit Sharma, Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were awarded the new A+ contract announced by the BCCI.

I believe these are just retainers. Add to this match fees, kit sponsorship cut etc.. etc. That is a tidy sum. Not to mention the endorsement money which dwarfs this.

Good on the BCCI. I hope the raises for domestic players are good as well.

BCCI also raised pay for domestic players by 200%.

They haven't paid the Ranji players for past three months now.

If im not wrong its due to ineptness of CoA. They have froze BCCI's account. CoA have been acting like dictator with no one curtailing their power. This is why i think Supreme court should never be allowed to interfere into anything. This is nonsense and complete mockery of the system.

Yeah this repeated Judicial outreach by the apex court has started to look really ridiculous. If only they devoted this much time and energy to actually reforming the judiciary and making sure that the senior judges aren't holding out press conferences to convey their grievances.

Anyhow we can just hope these CoA fools leave BCCI soon enough for them to operate independently albeit within laws. They have cause enough damage already.

Good to see Test match and ODI effort being rewarded handsomely.

Else there will be a danger of youngsters only wanting to belt every ball or become slow fast bowlers thanks to IPL.

IPL/T20 is all tamasha.. and so it should remain

Supreme Court has time for cricket, Rohingyas, Padmavat, Firecrackers, everything, while cases like appeal of Salman Khan's acquittal etc are still pending.

Yea... Almost all upcoming talented cricketers try to play First class cricket with the aim playing for India.

Best talented cricketers with good work ethics will reach the pinnacle of game 'Test' and represent India.

Others as per pecking order of talent settle for suitable formats ODI, T20I, IPL, first class and domestic leagues to play and earn living.

Same in everyfield of life :19:

PS: some will lose out due to system.

New Delhi, [India]: Former cricketer and Uttar Pradesh Minister Chetan Chauhan on Saturday said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should not withhold Mohammed Shami‘s license as “the issue has nothing to do with cricket”. ”I think BCCI should not withhold Mohammed Shami ‘s contract as the issue has nothing to do with cricket and also he has not been found guilty yet”, he said while talking to reporters on Friday.

Chauhan added that this issue is a personal matter. The Committee of Administrators (CoA), running the BCCI, held back pacer Mohammed Shami’s contract after his wife, Hasin Jahan accused him of domestic violence. Hasin Jahan had alleged that Shami abused her physically and mentally and was also involved in several extra-marital affairs.

The committee, which announced new player contracts on behalf of the BCCI, said that it will verify facts before taking a call on Shami’s new contract. Shami on Friday was charged under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives.

The other charges recorded against Shami are under Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

Unfortunately, there are charges of match-fixing too. So, BCCI has done the right thing.

Credit to Dhoni who got himself demoted for the sake of the team.

No excuses left to continue in top bracket. So he helped create a new sub A bracket so that he should not be seen as B level when basically he is beneath that level too. Talk about nicking a living.

So you want him thrown out of the team completely?

He's still doing a good job from where I am sitting. Unless there is a ready replacement I don't see any change at least until after the world cup. He will be your keeper at the WC next year.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday cleared India fast bowler Mohammed Shami's central contract after its Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) exonerated him of corruption charges levelled by his wife Hasin Jahan. "The Hon'ble Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) had requested Mr Neeraj Kumar, former Police Commissioner of Delhi and Head of BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit, to investigate the allegations against Mohd. Shami in so far as they pertain to the provisions of the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code," BCCI stated in a media release.

Shami has been given a Grade 'B' annual contract, which will make him richer by Rs 3 crore. He will also be free to play in the Indian Premier League, starting April 7, for his franchise the Delhi Daredevils.

Following the green light given by BCCI, a relieved Shami spoke exclusively to NDTV and said that he always had full faith in the Indian cricket board.

"I always had full faith in the BCCI. I was waiting for this verdict and I'm happy they investigated the matter properly and the truth has now come out. I started training from last week and I am trying to prepare mentally after these hardships," Shami told NDTV.

"I have done my best to come out clean from this matter. I hope to now return to my old routine, get my life back and just look after the future of my daughter.

"As far as cricket goes, it's a big relief for me. Hasin (Shami's wife) has already said that she does not want to reconcile so only way to sort out this matter now is legally," the Indian cricketer added.

The BCCI had decided to withhold Shami's contract after Jahan made a series of allegations, including adultery and domestic violence, and lodged a police complaint against him. Shami has denied all the allegations.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) specifically asked its ACU chief Neeraj Kumar to investigate the charges that the bowler accepted money from one Mohammed Bhai through a Pakistani woman named Alishba.

"Mr Neeraj Kumar has submitted his confidential report to the CoA. Based on the conclusions in the said report, the CoA is of the view that no further actions/proceedings under the BCCI anti-corruption code are warranted in the matter.

"For this reason, the BCCI shall proceed with offering a Grade B' annual retainership contract to Mohd. Shami," the release further stated.

BCCI acting president CK Khanna told PTI :"This is a very good news for Shami and for Indian cricket. The charges of corruption against him looked too far-fetched. He has been a committed player for India. The BCCI is happy that he has come clean after a thorough investigation by its Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU). It is only fair that he can now earn his livelihood as a professional cricketer and should be back in the field for the upcoming IPL."

IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla had already clarified that Shami would be allowed to play the moment he gets a clean-chit from the ACU.

Delhi Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua was also happy with the development as Shami is an integral part of their bowling unit.

"I have just received the confirmation from the BCCI that Shami has been absolved of all charges related to corruption allegations. It's a welcome news for the franchise and we are happy to have him back. We expect him to join the camp from the very first day," CEO Dua said.
