Would u be happy if Sunday was washed out.
I think I would. Im backing SA to win against India and SL so if Sunday is washed out, we know exactly what we need to do against SL in last group game to get through

I want to see a good game of cricket. I'd rather lose than the game be washed out. Defeats the purpose of the occasion and the game of cricket.

What a defeatist mentality. Sums up modern day Pak Cricket.

One poster's opinion sums up all of Pakistan cricket? Look at the other post, its clear that the OP is in the minority as I am sure over 90% of fans would rather have a hard fought lose than a wash out.

NOOO !!! I would rather we fight it out in a Match than have this defeatist mentality !!!

Answer A: Hell no! I want to see the damn game! What is wrong with you, it's India v Pakistan! Don't care if we get bundled for 25 runs it is still must see TV from the first to final ball

Answer B: Yes, I got an exam day after so will be able to revise on June 4th with no distractions

Nope I want to see if we can win the game. Rain is one of the few things that make me hate cricket.

will be delighted if this match gets washed out...

lets take emotions out of it.

lets be realistic. this is one of the weakest ever Pakistani team playing against a very strong Indian side. we Pakistanis dont even know half of our team. there is no way this pakistani team can beat this indian side. No way. Indian pace attack is better than Pakistan, more balanced and more swing laden. we have idiots like wahab who is nothing but a disaster plus mentally weak.

indian batting lineup is 3x better than Pakistan's plus they have many all rounders. pandya, jadeja, ashwin.

I really hope that we have rain ..otherwise Pak will be kicked hard by India and i dont want to see that.

No I'm looking forward to the game. It's a one off game so anything can happen.

i am willing to bet anything that India will beat Pak big.........we will be embarassed so much especially in the context of the heated political situation. it will be such a slap on our face.

Might as well not show up to the tournament if this is the attitude you're gonna have.

you obviously dont know much about nuisances of cricket. their is nothing such as one off game. a powerful side is a powerful side and will find ways to beat a weaker side. period

well, with this team it is not a bad idea not to show up. look, if you want me to be an emotional patriotic, i can be. but i am just being realstic. with this kind of batting line up, it is hard to imagine any thing good against top teams. and with bowlers like wahab and junaid......nothing to be said more

ssorry. need to be honest

how about we start with showing up on Pakpassion on 5th June no matter the result because the people that you're quoting mate will be here even if we lose or win.....

Winning and losing is part of competitive sports, and at the end of the day this is all entertainment.

Look, you are just trying to prepare for defeat, by lowering your expectations for the team. I agree, India is the better team on paper; But does that mean Pakistan has no chance against them? No, it doesn't.

I know you want Pakistan to win deep down. And believe me, they can win.

As we all know, upsets happen in sport. There very well could be another one come June 4th.

Firstly I know enough about cricket as I have been following the game for 12 years.

Secondly, when I have said Indian team is weak? Yes they are strong but if they have a bad day and Pakistan have a good day Pakistan is capeble of beating India. What is the use in giving up before the game has started? You are claiming I know nothing about cricket, your not coming across as very intelligent when you went a one off game vs our main rivals called off just because of them being better.

Indian batting other than Kohli is vulnerable, so a couple of early wickets will put them under pressure.

i absloutely want Pakistan to win but that is not the point. the point is to respond to thread's main question and to that extent, yes given a choice, i want the match to be washed because pakistan stands no chance. this pakistani team is so weak on every front that it will not win no matter what the situaion will be. i am not preparing for anything but after watching cricket for good 35 years, it is easy to guage the sitution and make a determination.

I wouldn't mind it being washed out as it would help us out in the tournament however it would be disappointing to not have a match. I'm not really confident in winning against India with our poor 80s batting mentality which can only win against poor teams and with a bit of luck from the lower order.

We have about a 30% chance of beating India, nothing more. If this were game theory I'd take the washout any day over that chance win vs India.

It's not a defeatest attitude, it's just the best situation for us going forward. Most statistically sound result. Who suffers more if there's a washout? India.

But if it isn't washed out, again I wouldn't mind cos cricket.

Good thread OP

ok. I am watching this game for 35 years and i can tell you that the question of one bad day happens when both teams are around 60/40 not when two teams are around 80/20.

this current pakistani team is one of the worst i have seen since Javed burki took that pathetic lot to england in 1962. not only this team is inexperienced but it seriously lacks in talent. junaid khan, wahab riaz, faheem ashraf these are pathetic bowlers. batting is too brittle for swinging conditions.

Yes it's a weak Pakistan team but it's better to have a game then have it washed out.
I suggest you don't watch the game at all if it's not washed out with this type of mentality.

no it is not in certain cases. if you want to be politically correct, fine, pls say whatever you want to say but given pakistan and india's history, given their miliatry clashes, given their toxic rivalary, it is not just an entertainment. pls dont fool yourself. Pak india matches effect and impact billions on both side of the border, are politically motivted and are source of national embarassement.

which type of mentality? our cricket is dead and we are no 9. we are in a gutter. is this my mistake for calling gutter a gutter. we have no talent coming out in 12 years, no new fast bowlers, no all rounders, no aggressive batsmen. and when we find someone good, he turns out to be jawari. aamir and shrjeel. is this all my mistake?

Regardless of your chances you should wish the game getting underway. India/Pakistan showdown is always something you should relish. If you are underdog you have nothing to lose. You could surprise them.

no man. both the country fan waiting for this much awaited game .hope its close finish whoever won

There is something called "belief"

It means that you go out and attempt something. Thinking that you can do it successfully.

Did Ireland believe when they beat Pakistan in the 2007 World Cup?

Did Ireland believe when they beat England in the 2011 World Cup?

Did Ireland believe when they beat West Indies in the 2015 World Cup?

Yes. They did believe. They were underdogs, but they believed. And they won.

And Pakistan can beat India. They really can. You just gotta believe.

ok, summary of this post, lets move to ireland.

anyway, ireland has nothing to lose in any match plus big teams play a bit causaly against them.

this is India pakistan clash. very tense for both teams. both teams have a lot at stake. plus Pak is a weakk side mentally as it cannot chase any score under pressure. am i wrong?

so your comparison with ireland is wrong, qualatatively, quantatively, figuratively and statistically

Sarfraz himself said that Pakistan are the lowest-ranked team in the tournament and they will play with freedom.

The last India v.s. Pakistan match in which Pakistan chased, they won.

what else will sarfraz say, kohli said the same yesterday that theire is no extra pressure and this is just a game. it is all blah blah. reality is that every india pak match is huge. just read what waqar said today. he said players cant even sleep the night before.

speaking of that chase in asia cup, we shd have won that match comfortably but look what we ended up doing. we barely won the match. almot lost it when we shd have won it a big margin. that is what i mean.

I'd rather lose but still have the chance to win, sure if it's washed out we probably will benefit, but I want to do it the right way.

Its just a game.

Who cares if we lose.

Its not war.

Just play it out and if we win, great.

If we lose, well so what. We had a bad team anyways.

Off course Pakistan can win in a one off game. But i don't think we can win 2 games out of 3.and the way the fixtures fall favours us as we play last so would know what to do.
I do want to see the development of babar hasan amir imad shadab etc on the international stage and feel we have good backup for them in sarf babar hafeez.
However we need to start well. In bowling amir can get amongst them if anything is in the wicket, but in our batting our openers make me nervous as hell

I have been waiting for this match since the day schedule came out I want to see amir knocking rohit's middle stump

Hell no. We barely play India these days. Regardless of the result, looking forward to cracker, hope Shoaib Malik comes to the party :malik

different weather sites have different weather forecast for sunday, some says it will rain , some say it will rain in the afternoon. its pathetic man. what do u guys think?

The team must recite the Kalma and have the mindset that they are going to war on the field regardless of the superiority of the opposition i.e. India.

Pakistan has defeated Australia in Australia and England in England in an ODI each and these teams are far more tough to beat in their home grounds.

Cricket is unpredictable. If it is a bad day for India and Pakistan play well, they can beat India. We are talking about just one match here, not the entire series.

Yeah I don't see us beating India in a 5 match odi or T20 series but our chances are higher in a 1 off match where a good day or a bad day for a team can change the outcome.

Yeah we get it. You want Pakistan to pack their bags and go home right now. Stop saying the same thing in every post.

On topic, no way. Pakistan needs to face up to India if it wants to have the mettle to progress anyway.

Cant remember who it was called misbah a gheedar that was inappropriate but whoever would rather have rain is exactly that

I would rather let India score 500, then let it get washed out.. So we get each 1 point.
:yk

Then I wish both india and Pakistan qualify for the final. Would be really interesting.

Rain means whole sunday gets wasted. So many people are looking forward to the match. The organisers and TV broadcasters are relying on this match to make their major earning from the tournament.

Lots of people, because of their own reasons have hyped this match. If you think about it dispassionately, without letting yourself be guided by the opinions of others, then it is just one match, like any others, where a team performing better on the day will win.

Personally I have stopped considering India vs Pakistan matches as anything different from the other matches of the tournament, no matter what the media and fans would like to describe them as.

It will benefit Pakistan if the match goes on. Amir will be roaring into these seam friendly pitches and bamboozal the out of form Rohit and a hack dhawan. It is the opportunity for shadab and Hasan Ali to showcase what bright young talent they are and a stage set for Babar azam to rise to the occasion and showcase what world class batter he is.

Lols how can you be afraid of these indian softies? Win or lose, just fight hard.

A washout is our loss.

If I were Indian, however, I would be praying heavily right now for thunderstorms on June 4th.

Not the fans but I can think of one Pakistani senior batsman with a history of choking who is fervently praying for this.

What a defeatist mentality. Sums up modern day Pak Cricket.

Uhmm not really. Who is 1 poster to represent pak cricket?

I fully back the likes of malik, sarfaraz, amir, imad, hasan and the new guy to come out firing.

May the best team win.
One more mauka!!!

YES! If we wouldn't have Shehzad and Azhar opening I wouldn't mind but knowing they will play I really hoe it rains. I do think we will get a full game though

It's funny how my thoughts about this change on a full stomach!!
Bring it on. Babar Amir Hasan and Malik to bring it home inshaAllah

Rohit and Dhawan and Kohli and Rahane and DK and Dhoni and PANDYA and Jadeja all in one batting line up

yeah should be easy going for us

Indian team is in turmoil due to Kholi-Kumble fight... Their dressing room is stressed. ROhit Dhawan out of form, Kholi mentally out due to heat from fans of Kumble, Yuvi sick, DHoni normally tuk tuks till the last 2-3 overs.

WHo is there to give challenge? Karthik and Pandya? They played well last game, 2 games in a row they wont perform

Pakistan have a great chance to win. Dont need rain.

This might be the last ODI between Ind-Pak for a long time to come ... given the political climate and there might not be a Ind-Pak match in the 2019 WC going by the previous BCCI Chief's request.

In hindsight, yes. But this is good too, Pakistan should know their team is in the landfill and this proves it. I don't see us winning against Sri Lanka either.
