Random but I only recently (couple years) discovered that people with beards and stubble spend an insane amount of time maintaining it. I used to think that its primarily laziness because of which some people end up letting it grow if its not for religious purposes. And the few times Ive been lazy or just been free and out of my own laziness didn't shave, I used to wonder why the heck is my stubble/beard so scruffy and unkempt after a 5-6 days whereas others have it so even and perfect.

Little did I know that people spend a huge amount of time to get a good look and I certainly don't think its worth the time.

A friend of mine keeps facial hair in order to not look feminine and/or 12 years old but apart from that I do not see any good reason to keep a beard.

Yeah they're nor worth keeping if you're not willing to maintain them.

Should've clarified - given that beards aren't a thing at the top of Pakistani society, it seems like that they are more of a working class/uneducated thing.

I have grown beard and kept mustache, I used to wax and curl my mustache.

One girl (teenager) admitted to her friend that she had a huge crush on me, I was clean shaven and had boyish look. Her feelings kinda sort of vanished after she saw me with facial hair. I look completely different with facial hair, I even had hair dyed with clean shaven look. You can imagine the transition.

On the other hand, girls my age often comment that I look better with beard.

It led me to reach the conclusion that stick to clean shaven look if you want to woo very young girls. Girls in late 20s prefer rugged manly looks.

Also if your facial features are good then eyes really pop out with clean shaven look.

Personally I prefer full beard, I hate trimming or shaving. Also twirling mustache gives immense pleasure.
