Note - this is not a dig at Hinduism or Hindus in general.I've just read a few times on Pakpassion about Hindus are model citizens when they are in the minority and this is often compared to the behaviour and treatment of Muslims when they are in the minority. The consensus is often that Muslims deserve their treatment because of their beliefs and Hindus are less likely to cause grief to the majority population. My own theory is that whenever there is a sizeable minority, there will always be small-scale tension that cannot be attributed to religion but just to human nature.
I thought I'd take a look to see how Hindus behave when in large numbers outside India to see if the rightwingers on this forum have some credibility. Obviously, in countries with incredibly small Hindu populations they will generally be docile ( Muslims are the same). In fact, that's one of the arguments that right-wing Hindus through at Muslims - that when they get in sizeable, they start to throw their weight about.
I won't go into too much detail but here is a quick breakdown of the behaviour of this community when they are in sizeable numbers. I wonder why they don't look in the mirror instead of pointing at Muslims always.
Mauritius - - This is often described by right-wing Hindus like Modi as little India, or India abroad because of its sizeable Hindu population. Generally, it seems like a wonderful and harmonious country. However, there are instances when Hindus needed to tighten their grip and looked to their big brother for support ( sort of like a Hindu Ummah maybe???). So much so that Hindus felt aggrieved by the democratic process and looked to India for regime change. In fact, India in 1983 thought about invading to support Hindus converting to Islam lol
Bhutan - - Has a whopping 23 % Hindu population. However unfortunately there is crazy level of discrimination, resulting in ethnic cleansing and many hindus living in refugee camps and many fled to the USA. Sadly these Hindus left their Hindu identity behind and converted to Christianity when in America.

Trinidad – Hindus have always been protesting for more right in Trinidad. Infact they were until recently seen as second class citizens and had to fight for many rights like cremation and adult franchise. Rightwing hindus seem to think its their country their rules when it comes to Muslims abroad so I wonder how they feel about Hindus in Trinidad exercising their democratic right.
Fiji– Its a similar story in Fiji. They make a third of the population but are seen as outsiders, have businesses regularly smashed up and are persecuted. Here again they protested and demanded to be allowed to cremate and sprinkle ashes etc.
Singapore– The natives don’t want hindu migrants. Especially after 2013 riots when mainly hindus rioted and destroyed property.
Sri Lanka – We all know how Hindu Tamils behaved here.
I have omitted their behaviour in Muslim countries from this. In conclusion its safe to say that whenever Hindus are a sizeable minority abroad it is a case of protests, murders, chased out by the host community and religious tension.

....Libya was financing the conversion of Mauritian Hindus to Islam.” Ultimately, Berenger and his supporters came to represent a coup risk, leaving Jugnauth cornered and New Delhi anxious about possibly losing an important client state in the Indian Ocean.
By mid-1983, when the rift between Jugnauth and Berenger had manifested more clearly and fears of a coup were real, top Indian military planners were readying the country for military intervention.
https://thediplomat.com/2015/08/when-india-almost-intervened-in-mauritius/In the early 1980s, though, New Delhi sensed that its special relationship with Mauritius could be threatened by the emergence of a new government that could subvert the interests of the island’s Hindu population in favor of minorities. As Brewster and Rai note, there was concern that policies favored by Paul Berenger, a firebrand pro-Soviet leftist cabinet official in the government of Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth could “favor the Creole and Muslim minorities and potential provoke a refugee exodus by Hindus
