This is my list ranked in order of merit of best innings by a left-handed batsmen against express or lethal pace bowling in international cricket.I have included the best O.D.I.innings.

1.Roy Frederick 169 at Perth in 1975-76

2.Alvin Kalicharan 78 v Australia at the Oval in 1975 world cup

3.Cllive Lloyd 102 v Australia at Lords in 1975 world cup final.

4.Alan Border 98 n.o. and 100 at Trinidad in 1984

5.Wasim Raja 117 and 71 at Barbados in 1977

6.Graeme Pollock's 135 at Trent Bridge in 1965.

7.David Gower 154 n.o at Kingston in 1981

8.Gary Sobers 163 at Leeds in 1966

9.Brian Lara 153 at Sharjah in 1993 v Pakistan

10.Graeme wood 132 n.o at Georgetown in 1977-78

11.Alan Border 126 and 78 at Adelaide in 1981-82

12 Brian Lara 120 in quarter final of 1996 world cup.

Ranked Frederick's 169 at the top when like a bomber destroying an airbase ripped the flesh of Thomson and Lillee at their fastest on a pitch of lightning pace.Domination in depths of the sublime.

Kalicharan's assault in 1975 Prudential world cup revealed mastery in regions of divinity.

Cllive Lloyd's 102 in the world cup final was the equivalent of writing an epic taking domination to it's supreme height.

To bat for your life both Wasim Raja and Alan Border revealed the courage and skill of a brave soldier single-handedly braving the fort.

Graeme Pollock revealed genius at it's ultimate crescendo scoring 135 out of 160 in the worts of conditions.

Gary Sobers batting was simply an epitome of batting perfection.

Few batsmen caressed great pace in the manner of David Gower at Kingston in 1981.

Brian lara ripped the heart out of Wasim and Waqar at Sharjah taking bowling domination to regions rarely traversed. He also tore Alan Donald apart in the 1996 quarter final of the world cup. with breathtaking audacity.

Graeme Wood revealed his talent when taking his team to famous win at Georgetown against all odds.

Wasim Akram didn't play the final. Waqar Younis was the stand-in captain.

his 126 earlier that year in South Africa vs the W's was a better knock on a bouncy pitch Lara 153 came on a road where earlier in the day Basit Ali scored 127(78) vs Ambrose,Bishop and Walsh and was arguably a better knock Lara knock came vs an attack lacking Wasim and Waqar playing his first game in 6 months after injury.

Fredricks indeed.

This list is quite acceptable, may be I'll add Saeed (Anwar) as well for his Durban innings (1998). apart from Pollock, who still was quite fast in 1998, other 3 were Donald, Kluesner & Fanie de Villiers.

SInce it's against express pace, I think Sanga's 230 at Lahore should be considered as well. It was in 2002 and that time Shoaib, Sami were among the fastest bowlers all-time, WY wasn't too slow either.

Didn’t see the Fredericks bombing raid on the Perth airbase but it must have been something. To score 169 at more than a run a ball, in 1975, against Lillee & Thomson on a flier, with no helmet.
