I would appreciate if anyone can recommend a few Islamic books written in English for inviting a Caucasian non-muslim (lady) towards Islam. Long ago I had read a few books by Tariq Ramadan but I think they might not be the best choice for a newbie to understand the religion.

I'm looking for a well written book on the basics especially mentioning the woman role in Islam including the importance of purdah and privacy. I can see quite a few on Amazon with good ratings but I'll appreciate your recommendations.

Although there are a lot of YouTube videos but I feel reading a book has more deep effect on understanding a subject.

Best one if they don’t speak Arabic is always going to be the Quran ideally with proper tafsir.

I’ve seen people recommend the translation by MAS Abdul Haleem which is apparently Oxford published and is easy to understand while retaining the depth and magnitude of the words.

I don’t know if we can share files on here, but just google it and you can find it on Amazon, Audible and a pdf by Research Gate as well.

In terms of role of women, show her the chapter Surah An-Nisa which is based around women especially (an-nisa literally means the women).

When it comes to giving dawah (inviting others to Islam) Quran will always be the number 1. Because it’s literally God’s word. After that, Hadith.

It’s just about the right tafsir / translation without losing the meaning of they are not Arabic speakers.

Also, brush up on your knowledge on whichever chapter you introduce to her as well for when she has questions, and look up tafsir of it by well known sheikh.

Us reading it plainly is one thing, but there are depths to the Quran those who spend their lives researching and learning it at another level we won’t have, so point her to tafsirs and explanations by properly educated and well versed Muftis like Mufti Menk for eg.

Thank you brother for the valuable info!
I'm also thinking of purchasing "The Study Quran" by Seyyed Hossein Nasr. I have read some reviews on it by non-muslims. Hopefully, the Almighty would guide her to the right path.

So since she has not studied Quran she is not on the right path?

Shes definitely not a religious person and has inner conflicts. Recently dropped out of university and works as a Barista and a model. She's recently started exploring Buddhism so as a friend I thought of giving a helping hand.

For most westerners who are distraught with their lives, Buddhism is an automatic choice.

I'm sorry this post of mine is off topic but couldn't stop myself from posting. I hope Mods don't edit or delete it.

Buddy i hope I'm wrong but you come across as a show-off regarding your girlfriend (I'm sure you're talking about her in this thread too) as few days back you were posting- she is an Australian model and does shoots and so on. Always put your profile pictures(almost all) with you standing in back in same pose and the lady with entire back side exposed. I'm sure you must have better pictures in your gallery if you want your profile picture as a couple.

I'm no judge on what women should wear but this comes across as nudity. As if you want everybody to notice that.

On topic, if she wants to explore Buddhism, I would suggest let her. Pushing towards something which doesn't appeal someone won't work. If she finds peace in Islam or any religion or belief , it should be her choice.

Bro, yes I'm indeed talking about her in this thread. As I had mentioned before, she models. Yes, at times I do get too obsessed with her but I'm not showing -off etc.

And I have removed her pic and would not upload any of her again.

Btw, she too uses my Pakpassion account and sometimes she also comments. So, I have submitted a request to the Moderators to kindly delete my account. I might create a new one in the future.

Whichever translation you want brother as long as it’s accurate, it’s fine. I can’t speak on it as I don’t know that one. But just be sure it’s accurate regarding the original text.

In Sha Allah. Keep in mind, no need to pressure her or yourself either. What I mean is don’t feel dejected or desperate if she doesn’t accept.

What did Allah tell Prophet Muhammad PBUH? “I guide whom I will”.

No one has the final say in guidance except Allah. If He has decreed for her to be from amongst the Muslims, then it will be, if not, then no.

I hope that takes any feeling of pressure off you, because ultimately it’s Allah SWT’s decision.

You can present the info and relay the message to the best of your ability, but beyond that it’s out of your hands and then it’s between her and Allah.

And I will quote what Khabib said too. Most of the times non Muslims haven’t read Quran or Hadith, what they read instead is you. Your character, your behavior, your energy. That in itself is their first introduction a lot of the time to Islam.

Once you become conscious of that and align that with Islamic teachings (again, this is a process in itself- it’s not instant usually), then they will naturally become curious about Islam.

Bro, thank you again for those kind words and guidance.

Whenever I meet her, I always have thoughts to guide her but somehow I always fail to do that because I get tempted by her sensuality and glamour. But now I have made a decision and will try my best.

My friend...your post didn't offended me. It's my fault. Those pic which I had posted were taken when I met her at her photoshoots, that's why she is mostly in her revealing dresss. I'm just too obsessed that's why I have pics of her in my mobile, my laptop, on my Facebook DP etc etc.

Anyways, im sorry to you and all who got offended.

The best book Is UNDOUBTEDLY " THE QURAN". Find a translated version with tafsir available everywhere now in many languages that suit you and that person. Then you can check all the hadith books specifically, "SAHIH BUKHARI and SAHIH MUSLIM".

Then 1 one book I can remember is “Muhammad, Messenger of Allah: Ash-Shifa of Qadi ‘Iyad”. You can check that as well.

Likewise, I too can claim the 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) are more important than any other book ever written including the Islamic scriptures.
That is why it is called faith. We cannot establish if something is right or wrong until proper proof is shown for it.

To the usual suspects, same as in every thread based around Islam:

Yes. Islam is the only true religion.

Don’t like it? Cool.

Yes, you can claim it. It's no big deal. We would expect you to claim it.

I would love to see you go and tell people in the America to their faces that their religion is false and your beliefs are the only valid ones.

Don't see it ending very well for you

You think Buddhism is one of her wrong choices?

A Hindu and a Jew would say the same thing about their religion. By the way, by what logic did you come to your conclusion?

There’s a difference between inviting someone, and ramming it down their throat.
Persuasion vs coercion. Inviting someone by giving a book is the polite form of persuasion. I think the lady in discussion will be happy in Islam or Christianity. But Islam will be preferable, as it comes with greater community support.

I don't think much is gonna happen. The people there are very tolerant and ready to listen to criticism and opinions. Religious freedom is also there for people to speak up.

I have witnessed it in USA. A christian preacher went to a Turkish student and gave a copy of the Bible. The guy opened the book, spit on it, and returned it. No violence. No blasphemy.

Well, this is not how a person should respond to another person.

That's the way normal people behave. They don't try beheading others in the name of blasphemy.

The best book will always be the Quran itself as it’s the unadulterated word of God. The Quran makes you think and ponder about the purpose of life, God & ethical conduct. Nothing will ever come close to inviting anyone to Islam.

I hope God guides your friend to Islam as all guidance is from him alone. He gives guidance to whoever he wills.

If you are looking for a book other than the Quran, then I would recommend sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s “The Sacred Path to Islam; Understanding Islam Made Easy”

not sure if this is true or not, but that’s not really the way to take care of things like that as a Muslim.

I don’t know if said Turkish student was a Muslim or not ofc. Atheism seems to exist there too in the last few years.

But we don’t disrespect the Bible.

Before it was corrupted by man, it too was the pure word of God, and even today, there are elements within it that are still untouched and pure.

Any Muslim who understands his faith would never disrespect the Bible, Torah or any other holy book that originally was sent by God like that.

Don't know why you have to bring in "we" for the act of a single person. Just dismiss it as a lie and move on.

There’s a lot of misconceptions regarding Islam, and I’m saying that’s not how a Muslim should treat a Bible- assuming he was.

As for if if you witnessing it is a lie or not, I don’t know.

Well Anti-Islamic people will always turn up on every thread about Muslims and Islam and will try and act real smart and be passive aggressive about it.

Not a book but strongly recommend the EF Dawah Youtube channel for both Non-Muslims and Muslims.

Allah swt guides who wants to be guided.

There are more than four Gospels.

But now coming to the point , Christians themselves do not consider the gospels to be important.

Interesting , but another more interesting thing is that Americans themselves do not consider Christian Jurisprudence should be followed.

That Guy committed major sin , if not Kufr.

Bible is adulterated , but still has parts of revelation from Allah , and disrespecting that is absolutely pathetic.

Yes, the Bible has been corrupted by human beings in the last century. It is not present in the real shape anymore. Lots of things are made up in the Bible now. But that spitting thing is something I, being a Muslim will always condemn. This is not what you should do to any book in the world.

Many Americans and people in the West are only naam ke Christians or atheists. But rural America and the bible belt is pretty heavily Christian

Really? Kindly name them? Who said Christians don't consider the Gospels to be important? Kindly share some links.
