If true , biggest joke in Pakistan cricket history. This has to be some joke right?
Azam Khan, getting this award?
What was his stats regarding keeping. This has to be some joke right?
Azam Khan, getting this award?
keeper award has nothing to do with runs you score. His keeping was brilliant throughout the tournament
Plus he scored some very handy runs in difficult situations
Laurie Evens stood behind the stumps too. He dropped crucial catches. It’s not like it doesn’t matter if you have shoddy performances whilst standing behind the stumps. Azam was brilliant, he’s a much improved keeperkeeper award has nothing to do with runs you score.
The keeper award in the PSL is a joke. basically its, whoever stood behind, played hte most and caught the most.
He cant dive.Laurie Evens stood behind the stumps too. He dropped crucial catches. It’s not like it doesn’t matter if you have shoddy performances whilst standing behind the stumps. Azam was brilliant, he’s a much improved keeper
He can’t dive? Are you sure about that?He cant dive.
Even during the finals, he fumbled and allowed Multan steal runs in the end. The only way he keeps is wait for the straight deliveries, as soon as the ball is moving abit further, he is unable to move.
Rizwan was the obvious best keeper of the tournament. Like even if you do not consider stats, his cover area as a keeper is bigger and only Harris and Haseebullah come near
Are you going to sit here and tell me that Azam Khan can dive as good as Rizwan can as a keeper? He can’t dive? Are you sure about that?
Azam Khan lacks reflexes, on top of that he lacks proper cricketing strokes.Azam Khan is a good wicket-keeper but he is just a wicket-keeper and when he comes to internationals, he will fail with the bat again if he is not serious. Smashing few sixes might do hoooh hhhhaaaaah in leagues but he still has to prove himself at the big stage.
Exactly.Yes, it is pretty strange that he got that award, Azam khan. If he is not even able to make it into the team of the tournament, then guess he was not that deserving to get the award in the first place.
I'm not a fan of his by any means but I have no issue with him getting the award. They basically just hand it to the guy who had the most dismissals as keeper and he just happened to lead the charts.Yet he's not in the team of the tournament.
Ridiculous thinking behind the decision to give him this award.
Lucky for him then although Rizwan deserved it.I'm not a fan of his by any means but I have no issue with him getting the award. They basically just hand it to the guy who had the most dismissals as keeper and he just happened to lead the charts.
Actually he wasn't that bad in this PSL but yeah he didn't deserve to get this award.A shame really for PSL to have such a player receiving this award.
What did he do? Like 1 big knock in 12 games?Actually he wasn't that bad in this PSL but yeah he didn't deserve to get this award.
There difference was just one catch. Rizwan played less games and thus had less catches.Who took more catches in this edition of PSL? I think it probably has something to do with that. Plus run outs/stumpings.
There difference was just one catch. Rizwan played less games and thus had less catches.
Azam played more games due to an eliminator
He is an impact player, so we can't really expect him to score big in every inning. He kept his strike rate above 150, which was good for him. What did he do? Like 1 big knock in 12 games?
Chocked in back 2 back big games.
Over 200 runs at a sr of 170. Not bad with 10+ catches as keeper. He is an impact player, so we can't really expect him to score big in every inning. He kept his strike rate above 150, which was good for him.
And this is what we do not want from him. His comfort level should include internationals as well now. He has playing leagues all over but still he is not mentally strong enough and comfortable enough to make it big in internationals as well, maybe he is not good at all then.He seems more comfortable in franchise cricket than in international cricket.
As a felider he will leak even more runs, he cant run, he cant dive so i think no point of using him as a fielder better to use him as a keeper and rizwan would be more effective as a feilder. If he bats ok against England he will start in the Windies.
Perhaps we can hide him in the field and make Rizwan keep wicket.
That's true but we need to work out the best way to balance the potential downsides of his keeping too.As a felider he will leak even more runs, he cant run, he cant dive so i think no point of using him as a fielder better to use him as a keeper and rizwan would be more effective as a feilder.
Trust me he will get even more trolled when he wil start running behind the ball.... just Imagine him doing so!That's true but we need to work out the best way to balance the potential downsides of his keeping too.
For what it's worth I'd rest him against India. He will get trolled mercilessly by 1 billion people about his weight if he fails. Indian fans are ruthless they even threaten to rape children and this young man will be an easy target if things go wrong.
His mental health should be protected and the coaches should be 100 percent sure he has it in him to play such a high pressure game.
But isn't the keeper a more crucial wicket taking position, stumping, sharp catches, run outs.... you need an agile keeper and Rizwan is our best bet followed by Sarfaraz (big game experience). As a felider he will leak even more runs, he cant run, he cant dive so i think no point of using him as a fielder better to use him as a keeper and rizwan would be more effective as a feilder.
