Interesting stat. Root even Williamson have to improve in this area. Kohli also used to falter immediate after 100. Now he is taking his game to next level. Converting them big.

I am just glad to see 2 Pak batsman in that list!

Azhar had a bit of a block with regards to Test hundreds till he got his first; he had 10 fifties before getting his maiden Test ton. Since then, his conversion rate has been very good.

Asad is just inconsistent in every aspect, though.

Abdullah719 howz YK or Sanga not on this list or is it only for current players.

What's his conversion rate since then?

Elgar has got 10 hundreds already.. That's surprising.

Kohli and Smith have really phenomenal conversion rate and its very good for Williamson also.

Warner and Pujara haven't scored everywhere but their conversion rate is phenomenal too.

Kohli was one hit away from scoring 2 centuries in the same test at Johansburg against SA. He got out to Duminy of all the people for 96.

Whats to be so happy about?

Fawad Alam, a far superior domestic bat, has not played a single match all this period, when these two have already piled up 58 and 62 games with mixed returns.

Not the best of investments for sure

Tier1:- Smith,Kohli,Williamson
Tier2:- Root, Pujara, Warner, Azhar, Elgar

Well if you look at it the other way

Kohli has 35 - 50+ scores in 106 innings - 33%

Smith has 43 - 50+ scores in 108 innings - 39.5%

Williamson 43 - 50+ scores in 113 innings - 38%

Root has 47 - 50+ scores in 116 innings - 40.5%

So Root is the most consistent of these four.

Just consistency does't win matches, big daddy hundreds do.

Just consistency does't win matches, big daddy hundreds do.

He has won England games, they are just not as many as Smith or Kohli has.

But he sure does help England reach position of strength more consistently than either of them do.

So he's not far behind as people are making it seem.
