After their historic series win in Australia, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) congratulated Virat Kohli and team for their achievement which also consolidated their position as the number 1 Test side in the world.

The BCCI also announced the following cash awards after the historic Test series win against Australia –

(i) All Test team members - The bonuses will be equivalent to the actual match-fee payable: which is INR 15 Lakhs per match for Playing XI and INR 7.5 Lakhs per match for the reserve players.

(ii) Coaches – INR 25 Lakhs each.

(iii) Team India Support Staff (non-coaching) – The bonuses will be equivalent to the pro-rata salary/professional fee

Captain Virat Kohli said that this win was the biggest achievement of his career and praised his team for sticking together and getting the job done.

“Firstly I want to say, I’ve never been more proud of a team than this one. The culture we’ve been able to build over the last 12 months. Our transition started here when I became the captain for the first time,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation at the SCG.

“Only one word to say, I’m proud. To lead these players is an honour and a privilege. They make the captain look good. Definitely deserve to enjoy this moment,” he added.

Wonderful.

BCCI may be deceitful and cheats to the ICC and world cricket but you've got to admire their commitment towards Indian cricket.

When you have confident, secure and happy players they will deliver their best for the country and thats what BCCI has ensured.

Well done.

Money provides resources to be successful and makes youngsters want to take up the sport and parents to be supportive of their kids to take up the sport. Well deserved.

Kudos to BCCI!!

Hard earned rupias!! :kohli

Bhuvi made 60 Lakhs INR or 1.2 crore PKR just by being in the Test squad. Hard work in the nets maybe for him :vk2

Players in the playing XI made 1.2 crores INR or 2.4 crores PKR in this test series, good enough compensation for all the hard work.

Match fees from T20s and ODIs should make it nice purse around 2 crore INR or 4 crore PKR for all the cricketers spending 2 months in Australia, yes not as much as IPL fees but still good enough as they have many more series to play and Central contracts ranging from 7 crores INR to 1 crore INR.

Any idea how much does the total payout in USD workout to?

Love it hate it. I am glad, BCCI, Indian captain, Indian players take the Test match cricket very seriously. It is not only good for India. It is also very good for Test cricket.

Well deserved.

In comparison, PCB should be asking for a refund from its players.

BCCI is extremely conservative.. they always prefer Test and ODIs. India was probably the last team to play 100 T20Is among all the top teams.. It is PCB which is more into LOIs

This is true. Misbah is one of the biggest reasons for the IPL billions.

uae is not feasible for hosting a test series .if pcb have luxury of hosting regular matches in pakistan there would not have been any problem of playing regular test matches .

Yeah, as if thousands of fans turn up for Test matches in India. Nobody depends on gate revenues in this digital age. That's a poor excuse for your boards incompetence.

It is a case of everyone doing his job with competence and getting rewarded for it. Players are playing well (their job), BCCI is selling the game well to public (they are the best in doing so), and public is happy to oblige seeing that results are coming.

5 days for single test on one of the most expensive neutral venue is far more than playing at your home which cost peanuts compare to upper one

If you have a sound market, it doesn't matter where you are hosting your matches. India recently hosted Asia cup in UAE and look at the numbers.

Say, what if, God forbid, 2 of main pacers from the squad get injured. BK (and I don't rate him much) would have to come and lead attack.

IMO BCCI should be thankful to the Indian XI; they're making them some serious money!

PCB should increase pay to cricketers as well. They are the main reason why a bogus organism like PCB exists in the first place!

Was Parthiv Patel part of the squad? Remember him getting some good money at one of the WC too without playing a game. Lucky fella.
