The first picture has been cut/cropped and zoomed in, but you could see the other guy just behind/next to those women on the right if it was the whole picture.

I saw the same picture in full on twitter
 
Well on the latest pictures and the on going shootings and chaos at watertown... These guys do look white. It just goes to show you can make who you want even with a picture.

One suspect currently under arrest according to boston globe, another still on the run
 
There is chaos at MIT right now. Multiple suspects using guns and explosives. A police officer is dead. Not sure if related to the Marathon bombings.

What the hell is going on?

This is like a mini TV series going on, no one has any idea what's going on, condolences to the innocent victims caught in all this
 
Names mentioned on police scanner... Mike and sunil, they mentioned full names. Not mentioning it myself even though the names are out there now. Police scanner has said a lot of **** too
 
This is such a sad incident. I just can't condemn it enough. Who cares if they are Dark skin or white skin or Muslims or Bangalis or Pakistanis or white supramists or whatever !! Justice is equal for all. I just want them to face justice !!!
 
Boston Police Department scanner has identified the names : Suspect 1: Mike Mulugeta Suspect 2: Sunil Tripathi

This is crazy....Sunil Tripathi is the Brown University student who went missing last month. I'm so confused.
 
"When the Brown student disappeared back in March, there was an explosive device found on the university campus that was ultimately detonated"
 
It's all happening here in Boston. I was drifting off to sleep around 2am when I was woken by a lot of helicopters, police and news helicopters, flying overhead. Got up and turned the TV on, looks like a massive police operation in Watertown, which incidentally is 10min from where I used to live in Waltham.

A cop was shot and killed on the MIT campus earlier tonight, something about a carjacking. Shortly after this huge operation in Watertown where apparently explosive devices were used against police and FBI agents and unexploded devices were found.

Now looks like they have a suspect in custody, they made him strip naked and took him into custody naked. May have a 2nd suspect in custody too but nobody can confirm.
 
I live a mile away from MIT campus and it is chaos over here. I cant sleep due to ambulance sounds and choppers.

It's live. They are talking about the suspects being either "a white male with dark complexion and/or a middle eastern male with curly hair". They are waiting on info on which of those two was taken into custody this morning.

On the scanner the police are all worried about a) the perimeter being insecure; and b) possible explosive devices in houses. Waiting for K-9 teams to arrive.

Nobody has confirmed anything at this point. The only facts are a) that there is a suspect in custody; b) there are hundreds of police and FBI in the area; c) explosive devices were used against law enforcement; and d) there are unexploded devices that the police are trying to figure out how to move (right now as I listen).

The guy I saw them putting into the back of a cruiser naked less than an hour ago didn't look badly injured, or injured at all for that matter. Must've been a different suspect?

One guy arrested (naked)
Another one being held
And they are looking for one more (the shorter one from the pic)

Hard to argue that they aren't the same person.
 
Just heard the police press conference in Watertown a few seconds ago. This is confirmed news, I have transcribed it as I heard it.

- MIT officer responded to a call for help, was shot in his car on responding
- half an hour later armed carjacking took place by 2 suspects matching the descriptions of Suspects #1 and #2. SUV was hijacked with the owner in the car for 30 mins. Owner released at a gas station on Memorial Drive in Cambridge afterwards.
- during police pursuit explosive devices were discharged from the vehicle to the police
- shootout ensued involving automatic weapons. Suspect #1 was critically injured and died from injuries. Police officer also critically injured in the gunfire and is at Mt Auburn hospital. Suspect #2 (white cap) is at large in Watertown area wearing a grey hoodie and with curly hair and white skin, believed Caucasian
- police telling everyone who lives in Watertown to remain indoors and not open their doors to anyone other than a uniformed police officer. Police will conduct door to door search throughout tonight and the rest of the morning
- police "do not have the names" of either suspect
- remaining suspect is considered armed and dangerous
- police are in the process of gathering the explosive devices and "making them safe"
- another press conference to be held in an hour

Some saying one of the suspects is dead and died on the way to the hospital. White hat suspect still at large...

In the 2nd picture you can see the child Martin that unfortunately passed on Monday due to the bombings :(
 
This won't end well. It would well be suicide by cop.
 
Just heard on the police scanner that the first suspect "might have had" an explosive device on his person and detonated it when taken into custody. Police officers asking their colleagues to "exercise extreme caution".
 
Police scanner just reporting that 3 injured officers at command post at the Arsenal Mall.

This guy won't allow himself to be taken alive. For all we know he has already killed himself. I don't know if the instinct for self-preservation will overcome the fact that he will be facing justice and and angry nation all by himself since his mate is dead. Though he may not know that yet.

From the very little i've just read about him, and seeing his family youtube video for him to comeback "for sunny"... If it is actually him - about 90% sure...

Then suicide definately looks likely
 
Press conference with doctors at Beth Israel Hospital where Suspect #1 was taken and pronounced dead at 1.30am. Multiple gunshot wounds and injuries consistent with blast/shrapnel damage.

Either one of his own bombs blew up in his hands or he was trying to commit suicide instead of being taken alive.

Doubtless we will find out more about motive in the coming days, assuming this guy is taken alive (I hope he is, to answer for his crimes). But geez they went on a huge crime spree from last night - robbed a 7-11 which put their images on camera allowing the FBI to match with their photos, then killed a cop, then carjacked someone, then engaged in a firefight with explosives with tons of cops, precipitating this massive manhunt. I don't think I've seen so many cops in one place ever. Almost like they wanted to be caught, Natural Born Killers style.

Yea I heard that on the police scanner...the commandant was telling his officers to exercise extreme caution due to that possibility. Probably why they made that other dude strip naked.
 
Looks like the whole city will be on lockdown this morning, not just Watertown...guess I'm not picking my car up this morning.
 
They are talking about converging on Trapelo Rd and Marlborough Rd in Waltham...that's like less than 3 min from where I used to live!!!
 
Anyway, I'm off for a nap...been up for nearly 24 hours already. Hopefully an arrest will have been made by the time I get up. I hope it's NOT suicide by cop.

You know the local news has limited international exposure when they're calling the terrorists "Checkens" from "Checknya." Praying for everyone's safety as my city is in lockdown. United against terrorism, which has no faith or ethnicity or nationality.
 
why are people bothered about the nationality of the bombers? to make broad generalizations? should look at what the ideology is not nationality.

How sad. The parents of this Sunil have to cope with his disappearance and now people suspecting him to be a terrorist. Terrible. That's why you dont cast aspersions till you hear something official.
