It all died down, and no Indian product was boycotted.

This does not make me love or respect Arab's. Sorry to be a killjoy but neither the Indian Muslim's nor the Arab's are the friends of us Pakistanis. I don't care what happens to any of these two communities. Arab rulers and people are just as bad as Hindutva when it comes to racism and human right abuses so I don't see why they are complaining about what is happening in India. This will blow over shorty just like the incident some time back when a few Indian's were sacked for insulting Rasoolullah(SAW) online.

India provides plenty of slave labour for Arab's. Every now and again they make a noise just to give the impression that they have voices and are viable. Let me also say that the stadiums built in Qatar for next year's FIFA World Cup was by modern day slaves mostly Indian's, many died in the process of doing so.

In the past the Middle East had upper hand over India bcoz India was not a big econoy and heavily reliant on oil & gas imports from Gulf

Now the equation is more of equals. Middle East nations know oil & gas wont last ;long ans sicne 2014 prices have stagnated. The rise of electric vehicles is going to make things worse. So these nations need to diversify and explore investment opportunities outside Gulf

On the other hand India is not the poor bankrupt nation of 60s and 70s. When u have a 3 trillion dollar economy and 500 billion in forex , you can gain leverage. Saudis and UAE have already joined the bandwagon

Point is these boycott threats count for little. . Money talks . Kuwait is busy eyeing big ticket investments for its sovereign wealth fund. Even Erdogan for all his big talk is busy pitching defense sales to India behind the scenes. This is the biggest lesson from China - nobody cares for any issue if you have economic heft ( like even Pakistanis are blind towards Xinjiang )

Only thing is some unknown two bit Arab prince will get his 15 mins of fame through this antics
