Rangpur Riders’ Mohammad Shahzad and Liam Dawson and Rajshahi Kings’ Sabbir Rahman have been found guilty of breaching the BCB Code of Conduct during their BPL 2016 match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur on Monday (28 November 2016).

Shahzad was found to have violated Article 2.1.1 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game”.

The player was fined 30 percent of his match fees and suspended for an ensuing match of the tournament, according to BCB’s media release.

In addition to the sanction imposed for his breach of Article 2.2.1, four (04) demerit points have been added to Shahzad’s disciplinary record.

Dawson, Rangpur Riders’ stand-in captain for the match, was fined 30 percent of his match fees for showing dissent at an umpiring decision. He was found guilty of a Level 1 offense under Article 2.1.5.

In addition to the sanction imposed, two (02) demerit points have been added to Dawson’s disciplinary record.

Sabbir Rahman of Rajshahi Kings was fined 15 percent of his match fees for the conduct which was contrary to the spirit of the game. He was found guilty of a Level 1 (Article 2.1.1) offense.

In addition to the sanction imposed one (01) demerit point has been added to Sabbir’s disciplinary record.

The three players admitted their respective offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Match Referee Neeeyamur Rashid Rahul and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charges were levelled by on-field umpires Gazi Sohel and Rashed Riaz Waqar, third umpire Tanvir Ahmed and fourth umpire Mahfuzur Rahman Litu.

Barisal Bulls’ allrounder Rayad Emrit has been warned for showing dissent at an umpire's decision during his team’s BPL 2016 match against Chittagong Vikings at ZACS, Chittagong on 22 November 2016. He was found guilty of a Level 1 (2.1.5) offense.

In addition to the warning, one (01) demerit point has been added to Emrit’s disciplinary record.

BPL:Bangladesh players fined for entertaining females in their hotel rooms

DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has levied a record fine on two national team players for what it called “serious” breaches of discipline after they reportedly entertained female guests in their hotel rooms.

Pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain and batsman Sabbir Rahman were both fined around $15,000 for “serious off-field disciplinary breaches” during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 tournament, said the BCB in a statement late on Tuesday.

It gave no details of the charges against the players, but the Prothom Alo daily reported online that they had taken female guests to their hotel rooms during the tour.

“The players have been reminded of their responsibility as national cricketers and have been warned that any repetition of similar acts of indiscretion in the future will result in a harsher penalty,” said the BCB.

The BPL is modelled on the glitzy Indian Cricket League and has been blighted by match-fixing scandals, prompting authorities to suspend the meet for two years.

Seven franchises are playing in the current edition, which includes such major names as Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi, West Indies’ Chris Gayle and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara.

The fines are the highest ever imposed on a Bangladeshi player on disciplinary grounds.

Al-Amin’s amounts to 50 per cent of his BPL contract money for playing for the Barisal Bulls while Sabbir’s is equal to 30 per cent of his pay from the Rajshahi Kings.

The BCB also fined Sabbir and Afghan cricketer Mohammad Shahzad 15 per cent of their match fees over an onfield bust-up

Shahzad, who was also banned for two matches, nudged Sabbir with the bat when the Bangladeshi player celebrated his dismissal during a match on Monday.

Lolz the news cracked me up..

Something I expected of Sabbir though.:moyo

He is a pretty talented bat but looks like he's trying hard to create a Bangladeshi Kohli like image with his aggressive and brash on field behaviour recently against England and now in the BPL. That's not too bad but he shouldn't let his head drift away from the game like what he has done here.

He has always been like this. If anything he has calmed down in recent times. Even before he was in the national team he got in a fight with Shoaib Malik in the Dhaka Premier League. I think he made some comments about Sania Mirza which enraged Malik. He has always been a brash kid. He was even mocking Mushfiqur in a match recently who is a senior in the national team.

In that incident with Shehzad it was definitely Shehzad who was to blame. He nudged Shabbir with the bat and Shabbir made the most of it however physical contact is a strict no-no.

'Entertaining females' lol. I wonder if foreign players would get fined for this.
