In yet another shocking incident which involves the brutal murder of a 14-year-old, the victim was a Hindu youth Mahesh Kolli who was studying in class 9th in a government school in Naribol village, Kalaburgi district, Karnataka.

Mahesh was killed and his body was stuffed in a gunny bag and thrown into the Bhima River a few kilometers away from Naribol. As per reports, he was murdered for developing a close friendship with a 14-year-old Muslim girl living in a neighboring colony in the same village.

According to Mahesh’s uncle Vishwanath, the victim had left home on the 22 February to go to a nearby temple and said that he would be back within 15 minutes. But as the victim did not return home, his family became anxious and apprehensive and enquired about his whereabouts from his friends.

After 5 days, on 27th February, the villagers of Naribol recovered a dead body floating in the Bhima River. The police reached the spot and pulled the dead body out of the gunny bag it was stuffed in; the body was in a gross condition due to decomposition. The police later identified the body as of Mahesh’s with the help of the victim’s family members. As per the police personnel, which can be called an embodiment of an abominable deed was found out; Mahesh’s genitals and nose were chopped off before he was murdered!

Later, the family stumbled upon the fact that Mahesh had developed a close friendship with a Muslim girl in the village. The deceased’s friends revealed that he had gifted a mobile phone to the girl too. Soon, Mahesh’s father and uncle reached the girl’s house. She returned the mobile phone and went inside. After this incident, Mahesh’s father and uncle had registered missing persons’ complaint in the Jewargi police station.

During police investigation, it came to light that the girl’s mother, along with one of her relatives, had earlier warned Mahesh not to visit their area of inhabitance and to leave the girl alone.

As per police investigation, the girl’s uncle, identified as Mehboob swiftly took Mahesh away from the village on 22nd February saying that he wanted to talk to him.

In a shock of looking at Mahesh’s genitals and nose chopped off, just like the police and the other villagers, the deceased boy’s father Mallikarjun Kolli said that his son was forced to drink alcohol and smoke ganja, and the killers murdered him when he was highly intoxicated. Mallikarjun added, “Instead of killing my son, they should have spoken to me if he was not on the right path.”

As of now, the police have arrested the girl’s uncle Mehboob and two of his partners in connection to the murder. Kalaburagi SP Simi Mariam George has said that they are looking into all angles of the matter.

A case has been filed against the girl’s mother and her accomplice Mehboob under IPC sections 363 (kidnapping), 302 (murder), 201 (disappearance of evidence) and sections of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act under which, according to the family, they have received some compensation from the state government.

This ghastly incident has caused a massive stir in the state of Karnataka. Several citizens, actors and activists took to the internet to express their anger against the same. Condemning the killing, actor and activist Pranitha Subhash tweeted, “Private parts mutilated, body dumped in a river. Impossible to imagine what Mahesh Koli went through. I hope the strictest action will be taken against the perpetrators!”

Activist Shefali Vaidya took to twitter and said, “Do you know what lies in that sack? The mutilated body of a 14-year-old Hindu boy Mahesh Kolli, who was abducted, tortured and murdered by cutting off his nose and private parts allegedly for gifting a Muslim girl a cell phone.”

If i wanted to even up i can post or could have posted numerous articles in my time here. If you want i can give you a list of hindus killed by muslims in last few years. But i have no interest in agenda pushing.

This is a rare crime. A 14 year old tortured and killed because he talked to a girl.

All you can find is agenda rather than condemning this.

Also, why not list Muslims killed by Hindus. You are deliberately conflating 2 different issues to hide the rise of fascism in India.

You did the same in other thread, instead of condemning you asked something else?

Read the 4th word in the 1st sentence.

I have a low opinion of our CM Yeddy. But one thing he's good at, is handling communal issues here in a fairly balanced way. When Muslims went berserk over an FB post, he came down hard. Shortly after, there were a number of groups including the local Bajrang Dal who wanted to seize the opportunity and orchestrate mass riots against Muslims. Yeddy quelled this before they could even organize.

So if this story and all the facts turn out the way they have been presented so far, you can be assured the accused will receive their due punishment.

Oh my dearest fresh pot, did you condemn what happened to Asif? Because as far as I know you were more concerned with the "authenticity" of the source.

You did the same in other thread, instead of condemning you asked something else?

I asked for a proper source instead of a unverified twitter handle link. I didn't question anyone's motive.

This is the correct stand which everyone should follow in the age of fake news and doctored clips. Always verify the sources. Here he is posting after the sources are verified.

Yes i was, because i dont trust random twitter handles.

The guy who beat the child got arrested and there was concrete evidence in the video for one to condemn the incident.

Arrest doesn't mean guilt. The video is a piece of evidence. After investigation we will know more details. Prima facie enough to condemn the assault, but also guarded in jumping to conclusions.

don't know what is the purpose of this thread. If it is for sympathy, it is the wrong place. And if it is to make a statement, then in poor taste.

Random handles posting videos isnt concrete evidence.

I hope your patients are not subject to your poor comprehension skills.

Lets try again.

I said "There was concrete evidence in the video for one to condemn the incident".

I think such threads should exist.

Will lead to balanced views so we can debate real issues instead of point scoring based on faulty/selective data.

Or else, there will be only one set of threads in PP where Hindus are torturing Muslims leading to predictable responses.

Pakistanis: Look at this atrocity. Muslims can't live here.
Hindus: But there are many such crimes against Hindus which people don't talk about due to agenda.

And a pointless debate ensues with the real problem forgotten.

That list is already on PP.

As I said your conflating 2 different issues. Muslims are generally being murdered for being Muslims,Muslims are not generally murdering Hindus for being Hindu. If they are then you are comparing apples with apples and not apples with pears.

It is the sign of a vibrant democracy and equal opportunity society where minorities can kill majority. This is the beauty of india, in a morbid way.

For peace loving people humanitarians like me, reading about such incidents are quite heartbreaking. I think I will ignore threads about India because it seems like a chaotic place where murders take place everyday. I wish the poor victims family find peace and that justice is delivered.

However, sometimes i am too emotional so I will take some solace in the posts of my rational brothers in other threads, who said that as long as the police is investigating then all is fine. In this case, the culprit has been arrested so all is well.

No need to feel guilty about feeling extra pain for people you identify with. Everyone does that and this is how it should be. Otherwise everybody's business is nobody's business.

Really? if a Muslim criminal kills a Hindu over some dispute and Hindu kills a Muslim, for being a Muslim, then for you its sign of vibrant democracy. I think you are redefining the word democracy

Yes, it means that the minority can kill a person belonging to majority without worry of reprisal, and it shows that the minority has a spine. Don't get me wrong, violence is wrong, but that there is equal opportunity representation means the society is doing something right.

The guy in the OP was killed by the family of a girl, not criminals.

Normally I believe you, but this is something I am not capable of, and I am a decent person, so i think it is just virtue signalling we all do on the internet.

Its not virue signalling, I have a number of reasons but if i give explanation why then I will be condemned on one side by Muslims and then on the other side by Non Muslims. So its a lose lose but until then I can express some sympathies with fellow humanist like you and shake my head at bigots like Joshilla and Itachi.

Tribalism aside, what an awful tragedy. I've said this a few times, I'm not for the death penalty, but I'm glad it's available in this scenario.

Looks like people have lost even empathy towards each other. Does religion makes one do so?

I hope not. My religion beliefs make me care for humanity. If you want others to see what you see in your religion then show them why, not show them why they should not come near you.
In our Masjid we were doing Gyarvi Sharif and 2 teenage white English girls smell the rice and walk into the mosque and ask to taste the rice, the old man in charge of distribution so no, my uncle was offended by this and said that he will give his share to these girls. The girls had the rice and went away happy. Those girls will always have a positive view of that day. Nobody lost, everyone won.

In India the traffic goes both ways when it comes to religious violence. A true sign of secularism.

Looks like all the youth from the subcontinent need to ship themselves to the good old USA. You might get shot in a gas station for no reason but u won't get murdered or expelled for innocent love.
