Hi it's been a while PP! Recently the Pak Cricket YT channel uploaded a video of Babar building his perfect batter by answering his choices for each characteristic of a batsman and I wanted to come in here and see what people think and what they would change. The following were his selections:

Stance: ABD
Cover Drive: M. Yousof
Pull Shot: Ponting
Defence: Inzy
Straight Drive: Kane Williamson
Power Hitting: Miller
Temparament: Steven Smith
Innovation: Jos Buttler
Running b/w the wickets: Rizwan

I respect these choices a lot for the most part. I particularly love his choices of Kane, Miller and Buttler. Rizwan is a bit bizarre for running between the wickets but that's been his running mate for years so I get it. I didn't know Inzy was that known for his defence either. Would you disagree with most of them? Who would make your list? Personally, I'd keep Ponting and Kane where they are.

My list would look like the following:

Stance: Babar (actually really love his stance)
Cover Drive: Sanga
Pull Shot: Ponting OR Rohit
Defence: Dravid
Straight Drive: Kane Williamson
Power Hitting: Gayle
Temparament: Kohli (underrated temperament... the way he'd chase scores)
Innovation: ABD
Running b/w the wickets: Glen Phillips

Honourable mention for ABD to be suitable for every single one of these. But you are only allowed to pick a player once. Personally my list is invincible. Looking forward to yours!

ABD comes to my mind when we talk about a perfect batter...innovative, smart, stance is good. 360 degree game... temperament is there as well..

It’s Abraham Benjamin de Villiers.

There has never been a better batsman than him in my view. ABD is a once in a lifetime talent, we were truly blessed to watch him during his playing days. There’s no shot in cricket that he can't play. He could play any stroke better than anyone else, and with such effortless ease.
His stance was like a cheetah waiting for its prey, striking at the perfect time and in the perfect place. :aag

My perfect batsman was Viv Richards. No point in looking for anyone else.

Second across formats would be Sachin and third would be Lara (only because Lara was tentative before he got set)
