Can a Cricket bat lose out?

About 5 monthhs ago my bat was having a good ping. Now it doesn't seem like as if it has a good ping. Can a bat lose out on its ping? If so what are the reasons and what are the solutions?

never heard of a bat losing its ping, but try sanding it down, oiling it, knock it in again and see if it works

yeah,the bat has a certain life, after it is used for a while the bat dies down.
