Can anyone stop a India v England T20 World Cup final?

Looking at the level of cricket these 2 teams are playing at the moment, can anyone stop these 2 T20 powerhouses from featuring in the T20 World Cup final later this year?

England managed to win 2 matches in India and have shown that they have some wonderful talent at their disposal in this format. Most teams will struggle to compete with them even in Asia.

India experimented during the series against England and still won 3-2. They have so many options in nearly all positions, it's going to be difficult for their selectors to pick a final squad.

Can anyone stop a India v England T20 World Cup final?
 
Anyone who plays India in the semi finals has a good chance
 
South Africa will stop India from winning the T20 World Cup this year.
 
People targeting Kohli and i think it is harsh in T20 WCs anyway. Bumrah is the real choker in the team. Goes missing in imp matches. CT 2017, Asia Cup final 2017, T20 SF 2016, WC 2019 SF.
 
If england face Austrailia or nz in the semis they could lose. Pakistan also came close to beating eng 2-1 in england. Just saying.:fz

I would love to see Ind vs Pak in the finals. Pretty sure PM himself will be there to hand over the trophy in the stadium named after him. It will be a great spectacle.

Seriously tho, they are on a different level. Incredible batting lineups and very dangerous bowling attacks!
 
There’s definitely some gulf in class at this years WC compared to previous editions where none of the top 8 teams could be ruled out.

Sri Lanka are not the same team without the stars of the previous generation SA have never won a WC but are not as strong as previous sides they have put out chances of winning are slim for these two teams.

Pakistan are mercurial and still have enough to challenge for a final spot New Zealand are not in favourable conditions but have the talent to go deep.

West Indies do well in T20 WCs and have enough talent to compete this year aswell Australia are a decent T20 team and have enough to win despite conditions being not as suitable.

Overall it’s likely one of England or India being in the final with the semis potentially stopping them both going to the final in a one off game anything can happen.
 
Its T20. And a single brutal knock can change the complexion of a teams fortunes . These 2 teams are probably favourites but then theres Australia - wjo are always a threat in ICC tournaments , Windies - who can outhit even England on their day. If the ball moves around a bit, NZ suddenly become a team that can knock anyone out and then theres Pakistan who are the kings of 150-180 type pitches (anything lower or higher and their batting and bowling respectively will fail). SA, SL, BD etc. are the only teams who have no chance of winning this tourney.
 
Literally any team can stop any other team. This is T20. One stunning over with bat or ball can competely change the game. Only recently Pollard smashed 6 sixes in an over. It all depends on the surface they play on.
 
India have the most basis covered. England rely on Buttler too much and don't have enough quality to beat Ind in a pressure match. Others might as well give up now. If SA didn't have the stupid Quota then might have a chance
 
In T20 format, there will never be a clear favorite for WC as KO games come into play ... anybody can win
 
WI and Aus can beat them and NZ also has a good T20 side . After a long time I think Pakistan has a very good side for T20s and they will fancy their chances . Overall most of the Top teams are looking good and even if England and India start as favs won't be surprised if neither make finals
 
England's biggest problem is that for their second main pacer, Mark Wood to play the finals, it is important that he doesn't play more than 1 game before. He is not capable to survive 3-4 games in T20 World Cup this year or else he will start well and by 4th game hit a half century with bowl.
 
India and England are clear favorites because of a few so called X factor players. These are the players who can change the game in one or 2 overs and hence called X factors because they bring in the unpredictability.
Australia and Windies come close next. They have players like Warner maxwell Pollard Russell.
Nz and SA have potential one or two such players.
Pakistan Srilanka Bangladesh don't have any such players and are ruled out.

Yes but in subcontinental condotions pakistan will fare better however england and india still favourites.

They love flat pitches more than any other country, and are more clutch than all these top teams with the best system, diet, physician, therapist, masseuse etc.

They’ve murked India and England before who seem to lack the killer instinct to win big tournaments in recent times. England won the OD WC but there was some bizarre cricket that helped them. India haven’t closed out any major tournament after Dhoni retired.

All bets on WI to pull the rug from underneath of whoever is the tournament favorite :gayle
 
^England also got murdered by a Pakistan team they beat black and blue 5-0 or something months ago before CT17.

Different format, but you have to be able to hold your nerve to win tournaments let alone dominate eras of limited overs cricket like Australia did in consecutive world cups.
 
Can't say what happens in SF and final as one innings as one over can turn the game. But India and Eng are far ahead of everybody else. They destroyed every other team even abroad. They are confirmed SF slots. One could never leave Aussies out of contention and they will take the 3rd spot. The dog fight will be for the 4th spot between multiple evenly matched teams.

Gayle and Russell seem spent forces. WI isn't as strong as they were 2 years ago.
 
I guess Pakistan...The conditions are similar and suit them..jus they shouldn't brain fade...with sharjeel at top they could be a force to reckon.what they need to do is fix their lower middle order..with Rizwan performing excellently he should continue playing in top order and may be Haider Ali could be tried lower down.Their top six should include an all-rounder to add balance and should invariably play two spinners.

It will be india , England , West Indies and Australia

Australia are good but lack variety , confidence and power hitters in form
West Indies is the only mercurial team in the mix

England is a good all round team but the current series has shown that india has now adequate firepower to beat them at their game .

I know pakistan fans consider their team to be mercurial or some strange magical team , but a team that selects a 116 kg unfit sharjeel 4 months before World Cup surely has become anything but mercurial . Please stop deluding urself .

If u do want to learn something , see how india has not picked Varun mystery spinner due to him not passing crazy high fitness standards set by kohli . Note that he will likely be in the squad for World Cup imo as the X factor .

Sharjeel at top - team will be good for heavyweight boxing not cricket . U really have not understood how modern day t20 or modern day cricket is played .
High energy , high fitness , hig fielding , super strong reflexes with super agile body

I encourage u to have a look at the indian squad . Most of them have six packs . Except Rohit ( who is a bit like tendulkar , fit and gifted but not super fit looking ) . None are overweight .
 
t20 is a format where favorites do not matter. West Indies with their brutal power hitters can knock any team, NZ too has a formidable t20 outfit. Pakistan can never be ruled out considering the WC is being played in India. So India vs england final is not a given.

Its unfair to attack Kohli. India have defeated Eng, Aus, NZ and SA in their home turf since 2017 under his captaincy. It almost seems fashionable to deride him on PP.
 
New Zealand look a good T20 squad, but in India will they be as competitive as they would be in home conditions?

Pakistan will be dependent upon Rizwan- so he can..
Windies obviously will go in as favorites..

Heavyweight boxing requires skill. Every meathead can't be a good boxer.

those games were too close...on another day, each of those close games could have gone NZ's way too....but in non-NZ conditions, there is only way....and that is NZ getting butchered mercilessly
 
England is a very average side in subcontinent conditions, specially Morgan who is a passenger in the team. He reminds of Sarfaraz, as soon as he's laid of his captaincy, he will lose his spot in the team. I see them losing to Bangladesh in these conditions too.

They are 4th.. England is top, top 6 teams are
somewhat closer in rankings.

WI are be 9(after BD,Afg) but they will start as favs .. SL are 10th

T20 is a format where form and rankings go out the window. It'd be way too naive to think India or England have got this in the bag. It only takes one player to decide the entire game. So, I'd say the tournament is gonna be wide open!
 
Pakistan will get to the semi final but however am not sure about them getting to the final

Chris Jordan's catch today is a perfect example of the fitness levels required in modern day cricket. More than taking the catch one-handed its about him running to that position to be able to take that catch. Doubt Sharjeel would have been able to cover that distance. This is exactly what Kohli said when he emphasized on fitness.

But its a completely different story that the Indian team drops sitters in a regular basis.

India, Eng, Aus and NZ seem to be the most likely teams that will make it to the semis with WI having a outside chance. This also heavily depends on the format that the WC is going to be played. But we cannot rule out Pak completely as the WC is being played in India.
 
I'll stick by my India vs NZ final prediction, but apart from that India vs England is probably gonna be the likely finals match up. Not to sound too optimistic here, but it's times like these where a team like Pak could very well surprise us all :afridi.
 
If pakistan pick the right squad, they actually can challenge anyone and might be the dark horses. Tournies aren't won by batting, but more so by bowling strength.

Ten heavy weight boxers with same skill set . But two are unfit . Doubt if the unfit will ever beat the fit boxers .

Here the two unfit guys don’t even have the same skill set as the skilled 8 . You cannot be serious if u tell me sharjeel is more gifted or skilled than most modern day cricketers from the teams of Australia New Zealand india and England .

It’s silly to even think of defending a fatso playing international cricket these days . More so if u have been getting worse fit than improving . Fans like you do a disservice by giving positive feedback to bad habits . But best of luck . I can u understand that the current pakistani talent pool is limited .

True .
Ability to go for a catch is important followed by catching ability . In tests india has been guilty of dropping sitters but not in t20 or odi
 
I’m surprised the West Indies are being given a shot. They’re carrying a lot of over the hill players in Gayle, Bravo, Fidel Edwards etc.
 
Tournament is starting in October & still we don't have any knowledge about the stadiums, fixtures or groups. Does anybody know when ICC will announce fixture list?
 
If pitch spins England will be lucky to be in semi let alone in final. Most of their players are hit or miss.
Most likely its Ind vs NZ/WI.

I think it's only india india and india....they r overwhelming favourites...... absolutely fabulous display by Indians .....Nz Eng might pose threat but india has so so many match winners.....everything they r touching r turning to gold atm.... After that 36 not out

It’s because they have explosive hitting ability . And their bowling is decent for t20 and with allrounder like holder , u have to give them respect .

Stop being delusional . Bcci uses its might to get players best salary , best physical coaching and conditioning , strict rules for no chucking etc . It’s a well run organisation. The 36 all out demonstrates not the indian teams weakness but rather the twilight zone phenomenon in day nights matches. The pink ball has caused several collapses .
