Can Babar Azam score a 150 in ODI cricket?

Babar azam's top score in ODIs is 125*. Imam ul haq has one 150 and fakhar zaman has a double century. These days when teams are scoring 350 plus for fun , players tend to carry on scoring after 100 as well. Babar azam is capable of scoring big but I think he loses his drive after scoring his 100.

Will we see him scoring a 150 in world cup?

I can definitely see him make 150, not sure about the World Cup.

As long as he is able to make some centuries, this will further confirm that he is a brilliant batsman and easily Pakistans best right now.

Maximum balls faced by a batsman in an innings in this modern era is Rohit Sharma. 173 balls 264 runs. Babar Azam has faced 100 balls 11 times of which 9 innings has a strike rate below 100. Once 110. Once 102. Either you start going bang bang and continuing it or he should have the ability to accelerate as the innings progresses. Otherwise he will just end up feeding strike to better hitters down the order. He probably will get there one way or the other. Who knows. HE could get in this world cup.

The problem with Babar is that once he gets to a hundred he tries to up the ante and gets out. He puts a lot of pressure on himself. He needs to pace his innings better so that he doesn't feel after getting to a hundred he needs to hit everything out of the ground.

He can get even double - play another 5 games against ZIM reserves and put him as opener; he’ll score at least 3 separate hundreds including one 170+ games f not a double.

PAK team and players are surprisingly stuck in a limbo - something I can’t explain. They are still individual skill wise miles ahead of associates or even ZIM, IRL, AFGs (I have seen the warm up game), but somehow forget cricket when they take on bigger boys. For example, again that game on 26 Sep 2018 - despite probably the worst on-field Captaincy in my living memory, at the end target was still 240 against a poor attack, which even was massively depleted due to absence of key players. Batsmen probably didn’t even believe that they could win that game!!!!

This is probably the biggest failure of Arthur’s tenure - individually he has improved several players, but their collective output has gone alarmingly down. Babar might get a 170 even against a top 5 team.... still I am afraid PCT will find a way to loose that game!!!!

If he scores 160 off 150 balls in ODI cricket, he has used up half the innings for a score of 160 which isn't ideal, but in a team like Pakistan where he is the only batsmen, you could give him leeway.

First 50 balls at a run a ball then Babar needs to shift up a gear the second 50 should come off 35 balls, remaining 50 off 25 balls that's 115 balls

(This does not only apply to Babar only atleast one of the top 4 needs to play this type of innings )

Rest of the 8 batmen only need to chip in 20 runs each at run a ball and we will post 300+ every time

I think the pressure being put on Babar is completely unfair. He is the anchor of the team, and players around him are responsible to allow him to play his game and score around him.

In terms of his position, I think when he bats at 3 and once Fakhar / Imam have a strong partnership, he actually comes in when the field is out and so he struggles to get off to a flyer and so scores at 80-90 SR as he is not a six hitter.

I know the WC is already upon us, but I wonder if an approach could be to open with Imam and Babar, during the powerplay Babar is unbelievable and scores well over 100 SR. With Fakhar at 3, the ball is a little older (less swing) and also he is able to clear the boundary more than Babar / Imam.

He doesn’t have fitness or the power to score 150. This can be exemplified by the by the inning he played against South Africa in South Africa in the t20 match that we eventually lost. He started out by scoring good boundaries but he fizzled out in the later stages. And that was a t20.

Its possible but i don't see it happening in the near future. When Babar scores a 100, he gets out not too long after playing a big shot.
