Can Pakistan pull off another come-from-behind hit on India in yet another ICC event?

Champions Trophy, Ramzaan time, Fakhar dismissed, walks back in, takes the game away.

Amir edges, catch dropped, Kohli will make us pay, no he doesn't - he's out! Pakistan wins with the biggest margin in an ODI between the two sides in history.

That was 2 years ago. Since then we played in the Asia cup for a few inconsequential losses.

But this is for the ultimate prize. A lot of drama over the last few months to build up to the game.

Was CT 2017 a fluke, or does Pakistan have India's number in ICC events? Does Pakistan need the stars to align to beat India, or do they genuinely raise their game from now on vs India?

This match will decide everything, could be the turning point for a team to give birth to a generation of winners and future legends.

No IndoPak game is inconsequential.

But if you take it literally, then the first game was inconsequential. But the second loss to them combined with a defeat to Bangla eliminated us out of the tournament. So , not sure how you just called it inconsequential.

have been listening this for decades.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results

All Games are equal, No game is inconsequential. We played poorly in the Asia Cup. (Asif Ali was a big failure there, plus pace bowling also failed to get us any advantage). Hope we can field a full strength side and play well.

Indian batting is similar to CT 2017. Get top 3 and the rest will crumble.

Not sure how to describe Pakistan batting then!

Pak batting is hit or miss. A lot depends on Fakhar and the start he gives. If he does not click, then Pak will be in trouble.

Pak needs a score of 240 to have a chance and hope that the Top 3 of Indian batting are back in the hut by 50 runs.

I hope our players are not as overconfident as some of our IPL fans here. We should give respect to opposition. I can see some of our fans wanting to win this match at any cost because of Pulwama attack and they will create unnecessary pressure on players. :inti

That can be described as equal to batting left after Indian top 3 have been dismissed :))

And that's not even funny!

Pakistan batting will have to experience a miracle to make their mark in this tournament.

Hasnain or Shaheen is going to get a fiver against India.

Mark my words.

We need to bowl first. Hopefully JK has Kohli’s number. Hasnain can surprise Rohit and Hassan Ali can clean up Dhoni & Co.

I am optimistic about our batting. The guys will have 5 proper games to get upto speed. We can score 320 if the line up is correct.

Imam
Fakhar
Babar
Haris
Sarf
Hafeez

The guys know they can bat quicker on English surfaces compared to the uae

Batting may fire once or twice but on average will be average. Our bowlers will have to deliver to ensure respectability in the tournament.

Sohail Khan 5/55 in Worldcup 2015 against India
Wahab Riaz 5/46 in Worldcup 2011 against India
He will be joining them if your prediction is true.
But will the game results be any different?

My head says India will win.

My heart says Pak will win.

What should I follow? You tell me.

Stay neutral and enjoy a good game or cricket and follow the principle "win and loss are part of game"

May the best team win on that day!

Would love to see Pakistan breaking the streak...

Off course Pak can win it. These can this or that happen threads are incredibly stupid! Pak is here to win the tournament.

Firstly, stop talking about the CT. It's finished. The wc is here. Secondly, the match against ind is our 5th match so it is pretty important but try to focus on the matches before so we are in a good position when going into the ind match.

Would be poetic justice if Shobby signs off with guiding us to a win vs India once again. He will play the Tony Stark role in end game vs India.

Many things went right for Pakistan that day. Pakistan is generally not known for racking up 300 plus total that easily even against lower ranked sides that too with guys like Azhar Ali in the line up. Indians were caught off guard against a noob player who they didn't have prior knowledge about. Also Kohli botched up selection by going in with return from injury Ashwin instead of a genuine pacer. Once Pakistan put up such a rare total like that, India was playing a huge catch up game. Now India knows about everyone. Rohit Sharma as a captain is a much better than Kohli. He will definitely play a role in field set, bowling changes alongwith Dhoni. India was a far stronger side in CT final a bit like how Pakistan was stronger than India on paper in most world cups (except 2003, 2011) yet ended up losing to them. But it was a perfect storm for India. One guy that clicked also got run out. Then that noball incident. I do not think in a world cup they will play like CT. They will be completely switched on.

No way.. be ready for the drubbing. Be ready for the beating of the century. Indians will be unbeatable in this world cup.

With people talking about consistency and Pak batting not being experienced or suited to England etc.

We can't even fathom what will happen on that day until the end of the day. Pakistan has been known to get thrashed in the most horrible of ways (remember the 1/4 against Windies last WC?) and then pull off victories that were impossible (The SA victory last WC??).

It can go either way...
