With 3 super overs in IPL today, my friend who is always critical of IPL said in our whatsapp group: "What other proof do you need if you can have three super overs in one day?". I said it is a proof that IPL is not fixed.

I watched the games today, all of them were super thrilling and no way they can be scripted, What do you say?

Theoretically yes, but the only reason I doubt is that they will have to involve a hell of a lot of players, from different countries, to fix these games. That sounds a little tough for me as someone could open his mouth at sometime. I can very well believe a captain and his small coterie, fixing the game but to expect it that entire team is involved is difficult IMO.

Thats a crazy theory. Too many arm-chair conspiracy therorists out there!

Why is it when we get entertaining cricket the first thing subcontinent fans think of is fixing? It's honestly so sad and pathetic.

Anything can be fixed, but for all that today to be fixed would be very difficult.

We do have rich legacy of match fixing. It has clearly eroded trust in already pathologically non-rational populace of the subcontinent.

But doesn't mean every time something like this happens you need to think of fixing.

Remember all these players are in a bio bubble surrounded by family, team mates , coaching staff, and owners. How are they going to interact with fixers lol?

There were two close runouts that changed the second game totally. One at the end of the regulation (Chris Jordan) and the other at the end of first super over (De Cock). There is no way in the world those two runouts can be fixed. Impossible.

There were 3 super overs?

Thought there were only 2 games on weekends, with 1 on weekdays?

Anything can possible.......I heard some Indian web series deals with fixing in a t20 league ...... I have seen few clips....of that webseries......the amount of garbage these webseries put in the mind of audience is heard to erase......trust ia not the same as it was

Would be stupid to fix it this way. Wouldn’t it bring too much attention? Also it’s wrong to throw accusations without any proof. And I see a lot of people do it, especially in the subcontinent.

That said IPL has had some shady stuff going on in the past. Iirc Sreesanth and some other folks were banned.

I won't say it's fixed but definitely scripted just like soap operas which is still entertaining.

This is the funniest post ever. Its not fixed but its fixed? If you want to make a claim, have to courage to say it openly instead of these sentences which make no sense

india has a legacy of corruption and theft too. therefore I can call you a thief?

You don't get it,I never said it is fixed but I see IPL as a reality Television show.

Dude it's the same thing.

Pre-determining the result for whatever reasons (bookies or not) is fixing.

So, yes you are saying it's fixed.

Coming to the OP....No I don't think they can be. The margin of errors are way too small.

Just yesterday, had either Jordan in that last over or De kock in the super over sprinted just a tad faster things would have been a lot different. Or had the fielder took his half second more to get to the ball or Rahul not collecting the ball .......well you get the point.

Lol, it's not WWE that it will be scripted. 50 years later these leagues may become one as such, just there for providing entertainment because ultimately it doesn't really matter which franchise wins.

LOL at the some of the comments on here.

Did you actually watch the games?
Did you see how great Shami bowled in the super over?

These things happen in cricket, look at the world cup final, if you wanted a to write a script that outcome probably would have been the most exciting, Just because they weren't asian team no one mentions fix.As some have pointed out , to stick to that script flawlessly with 11 men on each time would be near enough impossible. Just a sheer coincidence in my opinion.

It hurts me when fans throw match fixing allegations on leagues like IPL. How can you do it without any proofs? IPL is as clean as river 'ganga'. :inti

What is gambling racket? Gambling and fixing are 2 totally different things. Sports gambling is no crime and legal in most countries. In Britain, there are more gambling shops than restaurants...lol.

Illegal betting scam?

So we ask again after looking at the Super Over in PSL.
