Not that it matters either way, but we may well lose this one!
 
I'd still expect us to win against this team from this position 8 or 9 times out of 10. You never know...

Canadian openers bowled. Expected England to be strong in the field, ahh well... finish strong boys. Love to see how Captain Canada handles his innings.

Lol yeah, it was fun while i lasted. Nice to put UK in shock mode for a couple hours... now we can go dominate in hockey :)

Lol Tredwell and Wright. Can't believe England put these two in the squad. Absolute waste, can't bat or bowl.

Yardy can't bat. His bowling is always a lot stronger against less strong teams. Against the stronger teams, he gets hit all over the park regularly going for over 5 and 6 an over (and not picking up wickets). Honestly Collingwood is the better support bowler, they need to make more use of him, plus he's more likely to take wickets. He's been an asset with the ball for so many years now, I don't now why he's being underused for favour of Yardy.

Bopara should have played here instead of Yardy. Had a cunning knack of picking up wickets with his part time bowling if required anyway. At least he can bat. My gut tells me England will pick Yardy, which is the wrong decision in my opinion.


Being bowled out for 243 against Canda illustrates that once again the batting is the problem. England can't afford to weaken their attack by including yardy. With or without Yardy, England have the best balanced bowling attack.

I don't like Pietersen opening. Play him at 4. Bell's one of my favourite players, but he's disappointed me with his recent ODI showings, they just haven't been up to scratch. His ideal position is no.3, but since Trott's there, I'd rather have Bell opening.

Good to see Prior getting another good score. He's much better down the order. Hope he's starting to prove me wrong about his worth in limited overs.
 
I hope cheema gets going against one of the big boys in an acutal game. It could be epic :razzaq:iamlegend :afridi
 
Cheema must be saying to his fellow batsman, 'just stay in and give me strike!!', they're struggling to do even that.

I dont like it and I don't think it will work and it didnt work today so hopefully they dont pursue this tactic.

4th position has always been fine for him, it's where he's looked best. The problem is he hasn't had any good form in ODIs for a while now. Moving him to opening won't change that. What England have to do is play him at his normal position at no.4, and hope he steps up to the plate when the pressure's on (which he could quite easily do).
 
Cheema has just hit Stuart Broad for a 6!!! Canada require less than 100, run rate comfortable.
 
just 99 needed now. Can canada pull of a shock victory. I assume if cheema stays there for another 10 overs then canada will win.
 
if canada pull this of then it will do their confidence some good in the group stages against the bigger teams.
 
Just mentioned that Bryan Adams is one of the performances in the opening ceremonies.. Canadian content :)
 
If only Canada had one more player with even half of Cheema's batting ability, they would get home.
 
Canada require another 90 runs with 4 wickets and 22.2 overs remaining
 
Soon we might see Rizwan Cheema being offered a spot in the Hampshire team and later donning the England colors... thats how it goes..

Well played, shows that Pakistan can't afford to take it easy when we play Canada.
