Canadian PM candidate Jagmeet Singh supports Sikhs right to self-determination

How can I give anyone anything? What land and borders they want is up to the Sikhs to decide. I can only say that I agree with their right to have a Sikh homeland.

Given that there are so many Khalistanis in Canada and the Canadians seem to be supportive of the idea, hopefully they'll carve out a piece of land to handover to the Sikhs to establish their homeland.

There is no shortage of land and money in Canada, so should be pretty easy to pull off. In any case, Sikhs should prefer to establish their homeland in a First World region like North America rather than in Third World hell holes of Indian/Pakistani Punjab.

Problem solved.

If Khalistan is ever to be formed then the movement has to be based in India. No point gathering hundreds of thousands of Sikh's in London or Toronto making feel good speeches that last a few hours. Canada like any so called free country allows everyone to express their political views that is not to be mistaken for being pro-Khalistan. I am afraid Khalistan it seems will forever remain the land of the empty!:(( Many Sikh's dream off making Lahore their capital where Muslim's are an overwhelming majority!:)) I tell them to first liberate the land where they are a majority before even thinking off anything else:tahir2

Before that Frenchies would be demanding a Quebec as seperate nation. I personally dont see Jagmeet getting elected as PM. There is no way the rednecks in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba would vote for this clown. Plus he is also not popular among desis as JT is. Like i have been saying, just taregtting Sikhs and Punjabis would not win you PM election. Id have like an Indian origin PM, but just not this dude. JT will get my vote again

I have worked with few Sikhs who supports the idea of Khalistan. You will be surprised to know the actual reason for new nation. Lot of Sikhs in Canada are filthy rich and many have black money. Now, its practically impossible to convert that black money into white here in Canada without paying tax or facing problems, so the other way would’ve been to send it to their homeland and purchase land or property. Now, those who left India on refugees are no longer Indians and do not hold OCI OR any rights to do business or hold property. So, basically those Khalistani sikhs have nowhere to send their blackmoney. Their homeland is no longer theirs to do business, which is why their demand of seperate nation would resolve that issues. You also have to wonder, why would they care about a peice of land in India now when they are living their luxurious life in US, Canada, and UK unless ofc they can still benefits financially.

Lol the other day Trudeau was anti Indian and pro Sikh and now that the alternative is even more anti Indian and pro sikh y'all are backpedaling and supporting Trudeau :))

Doesn't Calgary have a Brown Muslim mayor lol, they can't be that bigoted. Even Obama was said to have not a shot at becoming a President cause he was black but the rest history.

Yes, the mayor in Calgary is brown( Ismaili) but still dont see Jagmeet getting the top spot of Canada, not with his Khalistani support.

Must be saazish from Pakistan and China this no?

I think many pro-Khalistan Sikh's are still living in Bhindranwale's time who was an illiterate with no political mileage at all. You can not establish a country with weapons when no political homework has been done:)) According to Bhindranwale's prophecy his death was supposed to bring about the completion of Khalistan. Over 30 years after the movement is still getting nowhere:facepalm:

Lately Jagmeet Singh seems to be spending more time talking about Indian politics than he does Canadian politics. Which for a leader of a Canadian national party is pretty embarrassing. Sikhs make up 1% of the population in Canada yet every other week Jagmeet is making a comment about India or Sikhs.

As for 'Khalistan' - the Sikh population of Punjab is steadily declining in % terms, due in part because of migration, Sikhs are over-represented when it comes to migration out of Punjab (generally to Europe, Canada and the US) and Hindus are over-represented when it comes to migration into Punjab (generally from UP and Bihar). The current figures are around 57% to 39% Sikh to Hindu with the rest being Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Jains. It goes without saying that the non Sikh population would never vote for the creation of a Sikh theocratic state therefore you would need 90% of Punjabi Sikhs to vote for Khalistan should there be a referendum. That's something which is never going to happen. Sure the lack of justice over 1984 has left a lot of people bitter and a lot of Sikhs have no faith in their current politicians however I'd be surprised if more than 10 or 20% of Sikhs living in Punjab would support a separate Sikh state.

Ironically those who support it the most live in Canada and Britain - this bunch wouldn't even live in their so called Khalistan if it were created tomorrow lol.

Maybe his aim is not to win the Canadian elections, but take away Trudeau's Sikh Vote and be a hero among Sikhs around the world.

Apparently he was found hanging around with below singer:

Only Punjabi natives should get to vote.

Will Khalistan also include Pakistani Punjab?

No lmao cause Muslims are the absolute majority. Khaalistan would only consist of the sikh majority areas and that's what all my sikh friends say. It's only only deluded indians that suggest muslim pakistani punjab join a sikh theocracy :))

And who are Punjabi natives?Living since when?Irrespective of that the population of Sikhs is still only 58-59% in Punjab.
Gabbar Singh says hindus from up/bihar have been settling in punjab. A punjabi native is somebody that follows punjabi culture and is fluent in punjabi.

The population of the old Sikh Empire was 70% Muslim, 17 % Sikh, and 13% Hindu. The sikhs ruled over a large Muslim population and they were always a minority.. If it happened then, no reason it can’t happen now. They were very respectful towards Muslim beliefs. A Sikh state would respect everyone’s beliefs

That migrant population won't even be 2-4%, also mind you Canadians and Brits will not be allowed to vote, if that's what they are hoping for.
Also If Punjabi culture and fluent in Punjabi is the criteria to vote then lol there are many around the world.

It would help if they could get a hold in Indian Punjab first. The Khalistanis got a good thrashing in 1984 and we never heard a peep from them since, so I would leave Pakistan on the maybe list for now.

I live with a large number of Sikhs of Indian origin, and support for actual Khalistan seems very small/negligible from my conversations. Being Pakistani, I've had them talking more about Indo-Pak conflict that anything about a separate state for the Sikhs. However, I've seen floats in the Vaisakhi parade (free food for all!) referring to Shaheeds who apparently were being some attacks in India. It seems like there's an undercurrent, but very small.

If this Jagmeet wants independence then come and fight for it in India. Sitting in Canada won't do, if you're so brave then come and live in the land where you want independence. This is what Allama Iqbal told Quaid Jinnah that if you want independence then come here and fight for it. That was when the Quaid was in London. Sikh's don't make good politicians, just look a Sidhu who once kissed Modi's feet and is now with Congress.
