The franchise will be based in Sialkot and called Multan Sultans? Is that the correct reading of it? Genuine query here.

PSL is not just a league anymore, its a full time circus

1 franchise gets sold as Multan Sultans next day owner says, Nah bro, you’re rawalpindi now

Another team bought as Sialkot auction done, players picked, everything finalized , Surprise, you’re Multan Sultans now 🤣😭

:klopp :kp

Have a feeling all 8 teams are owned by the same person, they just give it to owners who toe the line. 😨

So no team for sialkot, what a disappointment
Someone should take the ventures to court for completely undermine and undervaluing the team in terms of market value and subsidence

Will be Multan. Overall works better for the league as Multan has a stadium that can handle games. But it's been a shambolic journey.
So Multan Sultan, was the old franchise under an another owner (Tareen something?) which he let go, in the resale a new owner bought it for Sialkot as a new franchise, which then they have sold to another owner whosnow rebranded Sialkot Stallionz to Multan Sultans and also moved it to Multan?

Is that whats happened?

Multan Sultans stage HBL PSL comeback ahead of 11th edition

Lahore, 3 March 2026:

The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise operating as Sialkot Stallionz has officially been renamed to Multan Sultans, HBL PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer announced on Tuesday during a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

OZ Developers acquired the Sialkot Stallionz franchise for PKR 18.5 billion for 10 years during a Team Auction in Islamabad and has now entered into a strategic partnership with CD Ventures. Gohar Shah has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer for the franchise. Gohar was also among the bidders in the record-breaking auction (Multan Sultans) which was held in Lahore, but lost out on getting the team.

The announcement for today’s strategic partnership was made in the presence of Gohar Shah and Hamza Majeed, who addressed the media alongside the HBL PSL CEO. After the strategic partnership, Gohar, who hails from South Punjab, in his first act as CEO made a request to the PCB to change the name of Sialkot Stallionz to Multan Sultans. This request was accepted by the PCB upon payment of a one-time license fee and an increase in the Franchise Fee. The 10 year Franchise agreement was amended to reflect a total of PKR 20 billion as the new franchise fee.

The 11th edition of the HBL PSL is set to commence on 26 March, with the opening match between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen scheduled to take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The opening fixture was also officially confirmed by Salman Naseer during the press conference.

Welcoming the development, Salman Naseer said:

“We welcome Gohar Shah on board as the new CEO of Multan Sultans and to the HBL PSL family.

"The voices of our fans from South Punjab have been heard as New Sultans now take the reigns of the Stallions.

"To our amazing Sialkot fans, we understand the nostalgia and the love you had for the Sialkot Stallions. While the team may have a new home in Multan, the spirit of Sialkot's passion and cricketing legacy lives on and we will find ways to make it up to you! Many chapters still remain unwritten in the New Era."

Speaking on the occasion, newly appointed Multan Sultans CEO Gohar Shah said:

“Bringing Multan Sultans back to represent the people of South Punjab is both a privilege and a responsibility.

“This franchise carries a proud legacy and our commitment is to build on that foundation with professionalism, stability and a brand of cricket that excites our fans and strengthens Pakistan’s game at every level."

Hopefully the new owner will not be ranting against the PSL on social media and leaking confidential details.

What if CD Ventures and Ali K Tareen do some joint venture, shake hands, and Ali once again become co-owner of MS?

Circus 🎪 of events

Multan franchise given up by Tareen

PCB decides to run itself for a year.

2 x Franchise sold via auction , namely Hyderabad Houston & Sialkot Stallionz

PCB then puts Multan for auction citing genuine interest from buyers

Multan gets sold out and named as Pindiz

Sialkot owner fudges and has to sell his shares to another party.

The party finally acquires Sialkot and does Presser with PCB showing all good.

Now the party ditches the name Sialkot and renames it to Multan Sultans.

Only a fool will think its shrewd business. PCB & PSL executive end up as complete jokers in this series of events.

Don't be surprised if there's further twist before PSL actually begins.

So wait, there’s Hyderabad Houston, Sialkot Stallionz, and the old Multan.

The old Multan gets changed to Pindiz.

And then Sialkot Stallionz flips and becomes the New Multan.

I got that right?
