Babar is a weak character and even though his place is safe, his captaincy wouldn’t be great imo. It won’t help that he does not perform against the big sides. Putting him as captain would be the wrong move.

I think they need to play shadab in middle order and patiently goom him.He has potential. And use malik as lower order hitter.

What i feel pakistan lack is not talent but a proper role definition of the players. Your top 3 is very good but the problem is with the rest of the batting. Malik should bat @ 5. You need a number 4,6 and 7. 4 bowlers should be hassan, junaid, saheen/Amir and yasir shah/shadab. dont think shadab is a good enough batter to bat @ top 7. so if he cant make it as a bowler, he should be dropped

Where would you bat him ? He is an even worse hitter.

Also I'd have Saud in the squad now, he has done really well in domestic recently

Personally, I don't think you can Asif Ali on the team. He is a solid T20 player but doesn't have the ability to construct long innings and our batting isn't deep enough where we can solely keep a batsmen in the playing 11 that can only hit a few sixes and not do much more than that.

Haris should play at 4, he has the ability to play longer innings and gives you a solid 3-4 combo with him and Babar and you get an extra lefty in the middle of the lineup. Malik is at his best at 5 and Sarfraz can play at 6. It's not an ideal position to play Sarfraz since he can't play big shots but unless he is opening, there is nowhere to play him with how poor his batting has become.

Ideally, I'd prefer to have someone else open other than Imam but he will definitely retain his spot.

this is an excellent team combo ... If there is one genuine spinner there and an inform amir then this team can fight against any side.. I was looking for sharjeel khan in this side if we can get him back if he is not proven guilty then this would be near perfect team......

Averages can sometimes be misleading. All I know is that Sarfaraz is not a top 5 batsman. You ask any international team in the world (including Zimbabwe) if they would like to borrow Sarfaraz at no.5, they would say no thank you!

He also averages 60 in England, where the next World Cup happens to be.

Last time also NZ came to UAE just before WC, even closer to this time - just 3 months before. They won the decider to win the series 3-2 from 2-1 behind with a XI, 5 of them missing very next week from their final World Cup Squad.

This time also, if Kiwis send their full squad, I don't see PAK winning this ODI series either. In that regard, just for the sake of a change why not a bit different team? Obviously condition in UAE & UK are not same, therefore bowling combination will change in WC, but there is no concept of "Horses for courses" in batting department - a good batsman should be able to adjust his game according to condition. We have seen teams changing bowling combination frequently for different Countries/venues, but hardly batting order is changed unless someone is under performing.

It's just 3 games and a 3-0 loss won't be the end of world (5-0 didn't ended it), I'll take a chance with this squad
