A leading investment group has launched the most expensive, diverse and creative advertising campaign ever run outside of Pakistan to promote Gwadar as the investment destination and to invite attention towards the future hub of economic activity in the South Asian country.

A total of 100 iconic red double-decker buses in London, the capital city of England, are running across 17 routes, carrying a beautiful banner which reads “Gwadar: The Gateway to Emerging Pakistan”.

A port city in Balochistan province of Pakistan, Gwadar which is being built and developed with help from China under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project has the potential to rival Dubai.

The campaign, sponsored by China Pak Investments Corporation (CPIC), has the potential to reach or make an impact on at least 10 million people for the month-long duration it will be featured on London buses.

In an interview to a private TV channel, One Investments Limited Chief Operating Officer Stuart Reid said that the “red Gwadar buses” have been launched in Zone 1 of Central London, the heart of the world’s financial capital, and go out till Zone 4 to celebrate Gwadar.

“It’s our estimate that at least 10 million of the world’s most influential people will see these buses whilst parading the poshest localities of Central London from Oxford Street to Park Lane and Buckingham Palace to the Houses of Parliament and Lords in Westminster.

“We have put Pakistan and Gwadar on the highest platform in the most prime locality of London, the city with the world’s most billionaires, which sees over $5 trillion in daily financial transactions,” he told Geo News.

According to Reid, the aim of this campaign is to showcase Gwadar as the emerging trade hub of South Asia on the global platform.

Amongst the fastest growing economies in Asia, Pakistan is poised to become the 20th largest economy in the world by 2030.

China has committed $62 billion to the initiative under its One Belt One Road initiative to develop commercial logistics links with Europe to get access to a warm water port 350 miles from the Straits of Hormuz.

Mashallah, this is brilliant.

Also Deutsche Bank, has expanded it's Pakistan ETFs, and more will be available soon.

Great times ahead for Pakistan.

:)

Nice! Allah Pakistan ko mazeed taraqqi dey, ameen.

They are doing it for themselves but if it helps Pakistan, great.

The red colour of the bus swamping the green signifies China's red commie colonisation of Pakistan.

Thanks bro, it helps a lot. I will further research from what you have wrote. :)

Doesn't really say how much this most expensive ever campaign costs although there were a lot of other numbers.

My mother invested in Gawadar 15 years ago and has quite a few plots. People were making fun of her for investing in sand but I guess she gets to have the last laugh now.

In 10 years, all Pakistanis will have the last laugh. I cannot wait! :)

It would be a BIG accomplishment if we can just get rid of the blasphemy law and Mullah culture by then and get people to vote for a representative who actually wants to change Pakistan for the better. I would not hold my breath if I were you.

I would add abolishing corruption to Mullah culture. Both have to diminish/disappear.

Though I am banking on prosperity changing Pakistan before anything else.

Mullah culture is there to stay, whenever religious frauds command a following there will be corruption. Same goes with any religion whatsoever (Jerry Falwell is a good example). Did you not see the latest blockades with these "religious leaders" barking, (calling Imran all sorts of names, there was not even an iota of class in it yet these people were lapping it up) and instigating people non stop just for their own personal needs that even the useless army had to pay these idiots bus fare back.

I have no hope for this nation whatsoever. I was promised all this prosperity many times before.

P.S . I was not talking about what they called Imran specifically but about the level of discourse. I personally think he has been losing his marbles of late too.

Saw an ad on my fb feed appearently coming to NYC for info session mid march. The are projecting 300% on investment within 3-5 years. Though I am a bit skeptical since it sounds too good to be true and I don’t trust anyone in Pakistan with my money. I might query some relatives who know about the real estate business in Pak to get more info.

"Most expensive ever campaign"?

It's just a couple of bus ads.

The land of the highest peaks <3

There is no stopping Pakistan. It’s rise was only a matter of when and not if. Much respect to China for being the helping neighbour India failed to be.

Loving these advertisements. They look incredible and will go a long way in enchanting Pakistan’s general image ruined largely by Indian propaganda.

Stop hating Indians. A stable Pakistan is good for India. Our exports to Pak far outweigh theirs. All the best to CPEC.

A couple? Have you read the article? 100 - ONE HUNDRED - buses.

Adverts on London buses are expensive, and these ads are not just about banners, note that entire iconic Red buses are painted with Pakistani colours/patterns.

I can tell you now, it's a shed load more than the *Incredible India* ads that were plastered when investments in India were being promoted. The routes were pretty much confined to NorthWest and West London.

Please elaborate more.
And this time do try to explain and engage instead of running away as you seem to be recently.

POTW for me, even if it brought pain to my heart to read it. I would rather see the land of my forefathers swallowed up by India than this slow absorption into atheist China. Modi is but a shadow of his BJP predecessors who once spoke of Akhand Bharat with pride and vision.

Brother Capt, They are both worst case scenarios and will never happen. Pakistan may be smaller to China or India but is still a giant of a nation which can take care of itself more than enough.

Poor governance, communal disharmony and India’s animosity remain Pakistan’s biggest hurdles. I believe they should be able to get out of these troubles once they taste prosperity they’ve never seen before. CPEC is a wonderful opportunity for not only Pakistan but the whole subcontinent. It’s just a matter of an economically stronger Pakistan is able to put India in its place and negotiate a big deal for giving access to this port.

As for Modi he is indeed a shadow of BJP’s ex leaders. While he may still be as much of a minority hater as his predecessors but he is certainly the most incompetent and most illiterate leader BJP or India ever had. It’s a matter of huge shame for Indians that an ex tea stall vendor with a fake graduation degree happens to embarrass them at all major global forums.

I predict India will remain under this fascist BJP regime for three terms. The separatist movements will gain momentum. Economy will be destroyed. Eventually most major BJP leaders will be hanged by their necks once Indians will finally realise what evil mess they have gotten themselves into. Congress will come back triumphant and reunite Indians under one banner of Gandhi-Nehruvian ideology of oneness. Minorities will regain the respect and powers they had lost under hindutva.

But I’m afraid it will be too long then to convince people from not seeking independence from India. Kashmir, Punjab, Bengal, Dravidians would all be desperate in breaking away from the poor central Indian states who had been flag bearers of hindu nationalism amd spearheaded the hate campaign all these years.

Pakistan will be able to negotiate Indian Punjab into win-win business relationships. They will have huge backing of Canada.

Bengal will follow the same route with Bangladesh.

South Indian nations would have huge services industry and will be fine.

The only thing common between all these independent former Indian colonies would be that they would all jointly hold a grand annual RSS effigy burning festival.

Great post.

Gwadar is happening, insha Allah. The enemy has tried but failed to stop it. Just want a new government and Pak will be flying like a shaheen that Allama Iqbal visualised.

Stop hating Indians. A stable Pakistan is good for India. Our exports to Pak far outweigh theirs. All the best to CPEC.

Indeed. I hope it becomes a reality and delivers all the benefits the Chinese are hoping to get out of it. Chinese-owned asset creation in Pakistan is indeed great news for India. All these expensive assets would be within striking distance of short-range Indian missiles. This alone will ensure that the Chinese would never let Pak try any major mischief against India. Without meaning to, the Chinese have probably completely defanged the Pakistani nuclear arsenal and rendered it useless for any misadventure against India.

And all this is being funded out of Pakistani debt.

Indians couldn't have asked for more! It's win-win-win for everyone.

Wish you all the luck. A prosperous & stable Pakistan is a heavenly gift for us Indians.

While I certainly wish Pakistan success (it is good for India too), losing touch with reality does not help.

There is nothing "diverse" about this advertisement. "Diverse" seems to be a modern buzz word everybody wants to claim.

Also rather than being "creative" this advertisement is extremely boring. Poor text accompanied by bland colors, even a third tier Indian advertisement agency should be able to do much better.

People who would invest are not the type to be wanting flashy Bollywood ads. It simple, explains China/Pak partnerhsip and clearly states the name of the port.

Indeed it does so. But it is one of the most boring adverts I have ever seen, nothing "diverse" or "creative" about it. And the "people who will invest" still need a message. You are rather poorly informed, Bollywood does not make adverts.

More importantly, these buses will be running through the Square Mile.

Not surprised to see Indians getting their panties in a bunch here. People like Napa who have mentioned at least 10 times about how he/she has been to an ivy league school isn't aware that buses have a designated color because of regulation and advertisement space is limited. Someone please add some bright colors in there so Indian posters can get excited and some better buzz words like "leadership" "strategic" "passionate" so these guys can calm down

This was India's campaign in 2002 : http://www.incredibleindiacampaign.com/

A desert, Tiger, Yoga, and a reflection.

Have to admit, I turn green with envy whenever there is any positive news about Pakistan. I follow beggar my neighbour policy.

I admit to the deficiency of my education. The color of buses wasn't part of the curriculum :))

It has nothing to do with your education that you feel the need to tout about but rather common observation. Every city has one designated color for public transport. Where have you been living?

Dude, you don't have to take everything I say literally. Your sarcasm/humor meter definitely needs servicing.

China to establish 19 factories in Gwadar: envoy

QUETTA: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing on Friday said that his government was going to establish 19 factories in Gwadar to create job opportunities for the youth of Balochistan.

“China seeks to contribute to the overall development of Balochistan’s mining, agriculture, fisheries and water sectors. The Chinese consulate is easing the visa procedure for the businessman community,” Yao Jing said while talking to journalists here.

He said that 200 students from Pakistan had received scholarship in China.

He denied speculations regarding the Chinese government’s lack of interest in development projects in Balochistan.

“CPEC would change the economic fortune of not only Balochistan, but also Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries and all projects would go through Pakistan,” he said.

The Chinese envoy said that the provincial fisheries, agriculture, mineral and livestock sectors had room for development, which could end poverty in Balochistan.

“Chinese companies are working to strengthen the provincial irrigation sector while 50 vocational centtres are being established for enhancing skills of young generation of the province,” he said.

“China will invest in expansion of the Zhob-D.I. Khan highway considered vital for CPEC,” he added.

What are your thoughts on investing in Gwadar?

do not do it unless you are physically present to validate what you are investing in. i have heard some horror stories of plots being sold supposedly on the edge of the city, but in reality barren land in the middle of nowhere.
