Seriously? Someone who cannot hold the bat properly holds the most number of centuries in T20. Must be by fluke.
 
PSL reject and IPL legend ...... hmmmmm ...... one of the two country is terribly wrong !!!!
 
Gayle is the GOAT in T20s. No one come even close. Could have been an ATG in other formats too if he had applied himself as he has 23 centuries in ODIs and 15 centuries in Tests along with a couple of 300 plus scores.

So that's why Afridi is the leading six hitter in international cricket, he preferred doing the hard stuff and left easy stuff to the kids :sa :afridi
 
I was very sad when Gayle failed in PSL. I dont want him to end up with "PSL reject" tag. Admittedly bowling is easier in IPL than PSL but I think Gayle has the talent to survive and excel in PSL. Hopefully some team in PSL will offer him another chance.

No point in hitting 6 and get out next ball. Gayle has scored more runs, centuries than anyone if I am not wrong. Average is not in single digit. I have not checked Afridi’s average in t20 cricket, I would be surprised if it’s anything over 9.

Surprised its not in single digit. I apologize. But still overall Gayle's is way better than Afridi when it comes to batting which is what the argument is about. Played way more match winning innings. Again I haven't checked Gayle' s average, it must be well over 25 with almost same strike rate as Afridi. There is no comparison at all between the 2 when it comes to batting.

tbf He does average 7.57 with strike rate 96.36 against India.So I can understand your guess about Afridi's Average. :afridi
 
Performing now in sluggish uae wicket that too in empty stand but not in psl it is in ipl

Gayle is under rated and an all time great who is now past his prime, to come back in your prime all you need to do is play the IPL and butcher broadband customer service representatives, I can see Gayle laughing through his helmet while they run in

That’s not true. One of the cleanest hitters ever, not sure he is the greatest ever match winner/tournament winner in T20s.
 
Gayles last ODI score against Pak in world cup 2019 was 50 runs in 34 balls with 3 sixes.

Agains India struggled and scored just 6 runs in 19 balls.

People are simply missing the point of today’s innings

He smashed Tiagi, Aaron and Stokes who are all below par fast bowlers...and he licked Gopal for some monster sixes but that’s ok because his bat reach allows him to back himself and destroy most spinners whilst staying in his crease.
 
West Indies cricketers have generally been very generous in dealing with Pakistan cricket.

I find it highly disgraceful of Pakistanis to be ridiculing Gayle just to taunt IPL. Trolling is fine but you need to be careful not to hurt sentiments of people who have always come forward in supporting Pakistan cricket.

Chris Gayle as a cricketer needs no certificate to.prove his greatness from any group of fans. Leave your nonsense out of this and learnt to respect greats.
 
Gayle indeed in an IPL legend, infact he is a T20 legend; but did I really read it that he is a PSL reject? Incredible.....

Thankfully Tom Banton smashed Pakistan few months back and not some other side. If that were to happen, we would have been told that he failed in PSL because Pakistani bowling is too hot for him.
 
Was he really "rejected" by PSL sides? As in he was available for the auction/draft but was unpicked only for cricketing reasons......

Seems kinda offy to me especially seeing Samits and the Delports and the Ronchis finding buyers but not Christopher Henry Gayle....

He score a 50 of 30 odd balls vs pak in 2019 world cup and that was against your best bowling lineup and that too in a freaking odi.
The guy is a monster in t20s and has gained this reputation from fans all over the world,do u really think your dilbars and raufs and what not can stop him when he is in zone.

He is not my Dilbar, that doesn’t sound right.

But everyone has their favourite team and worst team to face. He really loves the England contest, just like Salman Butt loved the Indian bowlers. Pakistan have traditionally fancied their chances against him and they will probably plan to deal with him again
 
Chris Gayle vs Pakistan

Something happens to Chris Gayle versus Pakistan. It is reflected in his T20 average of 7. In ODIs he averages only 28 and in tests 31. These are well below his overall career stats.

The universe boss always looks a bit more chilled as if scoring against Pakistani buddies doesnt really matter…why does he spare us?
