Citizenship Amendment Bill: India's new 'anti-Muslim' law causes uproar

Not only this, the driver also threatened the passenger that he should count his lucky stars that he took him to cops only and not somewhere else....

This is really dangerous...If Uber doesn't act in this instance, big thumbs down to them...

He has thankfully been suspended by Uber but don't be surprised if he joins BJP and becomes your local politician.

Good to know this!

Btw, 'anti national' was still concerned that the driver should not be charged. Here is what he had to say on this,

"Uber should help the driver and give him counselling and therapy and send him for rehabilitation. His career should not be spoilt," he said. "There can be differences of opinion and people like me work for the whole society," he said.

Uber shouldn't buy this plea, even if it is coming from the passenger. The driver clearly isn't fit for the job as he could be a threat to the passengers.

Yeah. I know if I'm given a choice to board a cab driven by such lunatics, I won't board it for free...

cricketjoshila there would probably be a debate on UCC within a month, lets see what happens to beef ban.

Why would it be criminal anymore, if religion bias cannot exist?

based on Article 48 ( dream of mohandas, the father of the nation, whose image is used by liberals, whose ideals are claimed to be killed by the sangh parivar ).

Deliberate attempt to cover up police excesses: Karnataka HC grants bail to anti-CAA protestors jailed in Mangalore

“…a deliberate attempt is underway to cover up police excesses by implicating innocent persons at the whims and caprice of the police. Overzealousness of the police is also evident from the fact that the FIRs are registered under section 307 IPC against the persons killed by the police themselves.”

So this hostage crisis has now led to the death of a cop. This mob violence and extremists have got to be jailed, as they have destroyed public & private properties and now killed a policeman.

I do not believe Indian police will arrest Modi and the person playing the role of a first lady of India, Mr. Amit Shah.

The guy has been arrested as per reports. His name is Shahrukh and he belongs to anti CAA camp.
The riots were inevitable after the protesters started blocking more roads. I have office colleagues who are suffering due to these people. Some of them are so frustrated by the long traveling time that they are willing to help removing the blockade by non peaceful means.

Delhi is basically sh*t hole. People who think Delhi is best city in India should get their head check. As it seems, Delhi is probably Syria of India. I would never want to visit that god forsaken city. Well people of Delhi must be happy with all the free goodies eh? Who cares about law and order, we got free passes.

Its time Military should take over and clean up the city. Its giving rest of the nation a bad name( as it has always been the case with Delhi giving bad name to rest of India).

Everyone sane person knows Congress and their goons are the one behind this riots. Even AAP clown is basically doing nothing about the situation.

Considering it's your capital, anyone would think that it's one of your top cities too.
why would you make a "syria-esque" city your capital?

It will only take two minutes to google and you will know why it’s “Syria-like” situation.
Being a capital, it’s natural that people will assume being top city including law & order. But currently it seems Delhi has become a playing field for political parties, and I mean invoking communal riots. I’m not blaming any one party, but every major party is playing dirty politics, specially Congress. Washington D.C is capital but it’s definitely not a top city in US. There are many far better cities than DC.

Mumbai is easily better than Delhi.

I have been to Delhi and found it quite charming and full of history and character (being the capital of many empires and a long history).

Where as all i ve seen or heard about Mumbai is one large-scale Jhoppar patti, few British era buildings + Bollywood film studios. What else is so interesting in Mumbai?

You found Delhi charming based on historical monuments and nothing of late, which sums why Delhi is backward and nowhere up to standards of Mumbai.

If you think Mumbai is just slums then I’m sure you’re never been there.

Ignore his rants about Delhi. He is a nobody. also, I won't call Mumbai just a jhopar patti, it has its own share of iconic buildings and tourist spots.

As for yesterday's incidents, we had them coming considering the ever increasing levels of bigotry being forced upon us by rabid sanghis.

A police officer named Ratan Lal has been killed by the anti CAA mob in North East Delhi. May his soul RIP.

A peaceful anti-CAA protester named Shahrukh fired 8 rounds at the Delhi police. (no casualities)

Amit Sharma, DCP of East Delhi is currently in an ICU after being brutally injured by the peaceful protesters where he was pulled out of his car and hit with rods. His car was torched too.

Reports of Petrol bunks getting burnt, houses and shops getting torched, bystanders being attacked , dozens of Policemen and civilians injured as a part of a peaceful protesting act of stone-pelting by the mobs.

All i want to say in the midst of all this is that if you get a warranted reaction to all this , don't go harping on about "RSS Nazi Hindutva fascism " etc etc.

Perfect timing to ramp up the violence as Donald Trump is in India so more media attention. Again a flawed strategy implemented by Ammayi Sonya and Congress, sorry you are never ruling India again, go back to Italy...

My blood just boils as to what mayhem these 2 despots have unleashed upon us just for a few more votes.

There were riots in Mumbai in 2012 when Congress ruled both center and state. The peaceful community protesters were protesting against Assam violence by Bodos and Mayanmar violence against rohingyas. BJP was nowhere in the picture but still peaceful community showed their true protest style.

Riots have been integral part of India since we got independent, with no community can claim to be holier than thou. But never before have people been as anti establishment as they're now.

And you're speaking sanghis' language if you think its only muslims who are protesting against CAA. Everyone knows riots are favorite tool of sanghis to garner votes. Don't go too far, just witness the kind of toxic language all sanghis used to garner votes during Delhi assembly elections.

Pity, they still lost miserably.

As a muslim I never called Hindus as RSS goons or Sanghis but some here are mocking Muslims as peaceful when allegations goes against them.
It's a generalization from both the sides.

Sanghis isn't a derogatory term, they all owe their allegiance to RSS and hence the name of sanghis.

Because of our past people still remember the wounds their ancestors received from both the sides.
I hope future generation will forget.

They want a re run of the Shah Bano episode. Only that it will not happen.

I apologise if any of my comments have hurt you. Though i am sure i have not mocked anyone calling them peaceful or whatever.

But certainly posters here get away calling people sanghis etc.

I think CAA protesters should call off their protests now especially considering that they've become violent now and violence is the last resort of the cowards. Would help in avoiding further polarization of India.

Are you saying Mubmai is more developed then Delhi?

Are you saying Mubmai is more developed then Delhi?

Are you not aware that Mumbai is the Financial Capital of India ? It is home to highest number of Billionaires, Multi-Millionaires, Millionaires and also attracts the poor from across the country than any other Indian city. Full-fledged port with coastline, home of Bollywood. Countless celebs living in the city. Has Good transport with Locals Trains, Metro trains operating and an underwater Bullet Train project in process . Also, a very safe city in comparison with no rape epidemic. Delhi might also have its plus points but Mumbai is not far either. Coastal cities always have an edge over landlocked cities in every country with all business and economy concentrated around it.

Seems like one-sided I assume no casualties or injuries on the other side? I saw a video of a Muslim man beaten up by the Mob and someone saying " Aaaj mullay ko azadi di hay" was that from somewhere else?

People don't understand politics it seems, everyone here thinks it's the "common man" involved

There isn't anything politics about it. A large group have taken hostage of roads, properties and are violating attacking common people and cops. You just have to see the hatred like the speeches, banners. That's not democracy and it's against the country.

No don't tell me that Muslim are responsible as you regularly posts about them here.

As any IPS/IAS officer will tell you off record: Any riot can be quelled within a couple of hours if there is political will to do so. All riots are fueled by political actors imagining benefits out of it. The street thugs are mere punny men. There is no exception to these rules.

Both sides are responsible.

Muslim egged on by politicians first blocked Shaheen bagh and then Jaffrabad to protest CAA. Hindus now reacting to i, they also have been incited.

Why have you become like this? Why so much disgust?

You think either side is saint?

I was pointing to that specific posters hatred towards anything related to Muslim and leaving a blind eye on the other side of violence . Never said Muslims are saint here, there are violent ones in that group too but what are the cops doing? Waiting so that these unemployed youth fight and die?

Sister i am sad to see you having so much anger and hatred. At the end of the day we are ordinary indians.

I beg your forgiveness if anything i posted made you like this.

Cops? They get involved, one of the sides will play victim.

Unfortunately, women and children are "weaponized", and being used as protection by the radical protesters in this hostage crisis. It's not a simple riot that you want to believe....

100% agree with you. I have been saying this as well that all these riots are fuelled by politicians trying to gain some votes. Why would an average middle class person would want to throw away the career and life for mere politics that he or she may not be directly impacted? I’m sure the guy who shot police officer knows he has strong backers or else why would he be so daring to shoot officers in broad day light.

Politicians hiring political actors, media anchors, celebs, social workers etc to promote Anti-India/Pro-India stance, and while doing so in the process creating a rift between communities.
Indian politics have always been known for playing with lives. Sometimes I feel our democracy is broken and it’s better to get rid of it and implement Presidential rule. I would rather have functioning dictatorial rule than broken democracy.

Never even named them. Yet, you make judgements by the identity of community. That's communal right there. Judge them by their actions, not their identity.

Oh please, as of now Delhi is far worse than Syria, let alone better than Mumbai.

This is at Marine Drive yesterday where Anti-CAA Protestors had planned to occupy the public place and turn it into another Shaheen Bagh. All their plans were foiled by pro-active intervention of Mumbai Police DCP who gave a strict ultimatum to vacate the place in ten minutes and they did without much noise. Compare that to inefficient Delhi Police and their protestors who have a lot of free time on their hands holding a city hostage for two months . It had to end this way.

Proud of Mumbai Police.
