i didnt think i would see this in my lifetime..such a clinical performance. I knew they could do it its just i didnt believe they would. Now lets go and beat the kiwis and get into the semis..

I wasn't happy but I was impressed because it was a thoroughly professional performance - Pakistan was focused from ball one and the players' heads were in the game. This is the most composed Pakistan performance against India in a very long time.

Although India is by far the better side, this victory was not a fluke.

why werent u happy?

What an unbelievably dominant and professional performance from ball 1. I am still in disbelief at what I watched, as the delirium fades.

Congratulations to all! The most enjoyable cricket match I've watched since June 2017. Who doesn't love this sport?

It's a two way street. Mamoon better fess up. India got treated like school boys. Australia of "back in the day" would never have been annihilated like this let alone in a WC match. The focus here should not on Pakistan's weaknesses (we have plenty) but the fact that our so called mighty opponents were completely steamrolled and were never in the game.

Congratulations to Pakistan fans.

You'll still see us milking the 50-over World Cup streak for some more time until you beat us there too.

These sort of streaks by their very definition are bound to be broken one day. That's why I prefer over all H2H records.

man i am glad that it witness that.

I doubt that kind of Pakistan team will ever take field again. It was just different. That energy by the tboys, the way they ran after every ball. I still cannot believe that that was Pakistan team.

That energy was there in the batting aswell and I was scared if one of them got out the energy or whatever that thing was would vanished. It was just something different.

I hope I get to see this team again, I really really hope. The way these guys came, won it and gracefully left.

They did not do anything over the top. Came in as a pack, won the game and than left.

India couldn’t execute today. Underperformed with the bat and the bowling was flat.

Kohli must be bitterly disappointed with the performance even though he played a champion innings in his own right.

Nevertheless, it is a long tournament and they can regroup.

Congratulations to Pakistani fans - well played. Clinical, professional performance in all departments.

LOL Champions innings at run a ball took a gamble on last few overs and then got out. If not for Pant brief innings this would have been even more embarrassing.

I never thought I would see a performance like that from a Pakistan team and that too from quite an average team barring 3-4 players. Well done to the boys. It makes up for the absolutely embarrassing performance (or lack thereof) from United in the football.

what were you not happy about?

Congratulations to the Pakistan team and the fans! Well deserved victory.

I was disappointed with the way Indian batsmen played. However, it was a privilege to watch Pakistan's bowling.
I know the majority of the people in this forum will be happy to see such a professional performance from the Pakistani team. I am happy for you guys.

Fantastic performance top to bottom from Pakistan. One of my all time favorite cricket matches

Congrats Pakistan!! It was a magnificent performance from ball 1 to the end. That fire that was missing for a few years is back. Just incredible to watch.

Great feeling!

To our dear indian posters.... in my opinion, I'm confident we will meet again in the finals. May the best team win the cup.

Cheers

Thank you Civil! Congratulations to you and all the Pakistan cricket fans.
I am not sure if India will qualify for the finals or not. If India vs Pakistan meets in the final, let us hope for better performance from the Indian team.

Congrats again to the posters. It was a masterful performance by Pakistan.

Pakistan, especially Rizwan, Babar and Shaheen have won the hearts of many Indians. A lot of praise in Indian newspapers for Pakistan today. Since last night, Indians on social media were disappointed with India's performance but there was no animosity towards Pakistan.

Congratulations pakistan . I have never seen green army so calm and composed. 99.9% clinical performance . apart from the overthrow flawless performance..team is in good hands.dont let them go

Congratulations to all pakistan fans out here.. that was a clinical finish as it can get.
Because of australian timezone , missed whole game and now looking at highlights was truly stunned by the performance.
I guess my entire world cup will be highlights only lol

What i liked is
When in the 2nd over, imad was bowling, the appeal for lbw, was very rational, not over the top.
They didnt, over appeal, and lose the DRS, all in all, i could see some grit & determination even during national anthem.

Also the way, shaheen said at the start of the 2 innings

Aaram se chase kar lenge

Few years ago Shaheen was smoked all over the park by Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw in U19 WC final. Look at Shaheen now, destroyed the most destructive Batsmen on very first ball and then cleaned up the most gifted and talented cricketer of India after Kohli with classy inswinger.

That's how tables turn. Rizwan showed how to chase under pressure, trust me Babar alone could not have handled the pressure. Rizwan was on beast mode right from the ball one. Running between the wicket was phenomenal.

The duo put their best performance by their class and temperament. I was in tears, not only me, my whole family here in Indian Occupied Kashmir were in tears including my mother who doesn't even know why they are playing and what they are playing.

Congratulations to Pakistan and thank you Rizwan, Shaheen, Babar, Haris, Shadab and Imad. We will never forget this victory.

Congratulations to all the Pakistan fans! Amazing work. The change in script in ICC tourneys couldnt have been better!
Loved Shaheen And Rauf!

Congratulations to pakistan team. The scoreline in T20 WCs now stands 5-1.

Hopefully this will end the kohli culture in team India.

Congrats Pakistan! I somehow had the feeling before the match that the streak is going to break, but what's surprising was the kind of dominance shown!

Unfortunately Kohli will be considered as worst Indian captain ever (more than Tendulkar in LOIs) because he achieved something which no other Indian Captain before did (breaking the WC streak!) But am not sure if Tendulkar captained any Indian WC event!

Congratulations pakistan. They outplayed India thoroughly. They were more focused, better prepared and had the aggression.

Indian team was more into wokeism,BLM. Captain was more interested in giving instructions on how to celebrate Diwali.

Down with covid 19 and in hospital, but i will be back. And so will be my team.

100% this account has been hacked. No way certain posters are eating humble pie.

This is probably the most one sided LOI ICC tourney beat down ever between the two sides.

Was the kneeling for BLM? From the replies, it wasn't clear.

Was home quarantining for 3-4 days. But the fever didn't subside. So my colleagues forcefully got me admitted into the HDU yesterday morning. Lungs CT scan is not too bad.

Started on Remdesivir yesterday night.

Yes kneeling was for BLM. Why we needed to do that i dont know.

Babar Azam and Mohammwd Rizwan are absolute legends the way the humbled India. No other team has beaten India by 10 wickets in T20

Kneeling didn't lose us the game, the fact that our team lost to a better overall performance and potentially a better side, is why we lost the game. Azam is the world's premier batsmen across all formats right now (ranked second in the last wtc cycle), Rizwan is arguably the premier keeper/bat and Shaheen the premier pace bowler.

We had the world's greatest player who is on a downward curve, a destructive opener who carries a pot belly and a bunch of talented but flaky batters around these two. The bowling unit is strong and this is what makes the loss hurt so much more, Bumrah, Shami...heck everyone were played like this was backyard cricket between a 5 year old and a 16 year old.

Absolute domination, what a massive drubbing. Breaking the streak, while making some world records. Just fantastic! I am absolutely elated since yesterday. Thankyou, Pakistan team! Thankyou Shaheen, Babar and Rizwan - you guys are absolute gems. What generations of Pakistanis couldnt do, you have done it!

Virat, you are a fantastic sportsman, and my respect for you is eternal. Best indian cricketer to grace the game.

Mohammad Rizwan in a recent interview:

“No doubt Virat Kohli is number one in the world"

“When we play cricket, we are all like a family. When we took a review against Pant after he played a reverse sweep, he (Kohli) said are you trying to get all of us out in 10 overs?”

“When we were batting, he also said a few things. I can’t repeat the things that were said, but all I can say is that he is a really nice guy.”

With memorable victories in Test cricket in Australia and England, 2021 was a memorable year for Indian cricket. However, there was one major setback as the Men in Blue were knocked out of the 2021 Men's T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the group stage.

Coming into the tournament, Virat Kohli had announced that the global event will be his last assignment leading the Indian T20I side as India attempted at ending their ICC trophy drought.

However, the tournament ended up being a major blow for Kohli's men as they were knocked out in the group stage. For the first time since the 2012 T20 World Cup, India had failed to reach the knockout stages of an ICC event.

It was India's start to the tournament which set them back in the competition as arch-rivals Pakistan thrashed them by 10-wickets in both teams' opening clash of the tournament at the Dubai International Stadium.

This was the first time in either a 50-over or 20-over World Cup match that Pakistan defeated India. The game saw Babar Azam's side end a 12-match losing run against India in World Cups.

Former Pakistan cricket Mohammad Hafeez who retired from international cricket following the 2021 T20 World Cup has made a bold claim saying India's body language was not the same following the defeat to Pakistan.

Talking to Sports Tak, Hafeez said, “Both teams have pressure. I've played many India-Pakistan games, and when you lose the first match, it always has an impact.

"When we won the first match, you could see that India's body language wasn't the same anymore. Because the amount of pressure a player bears is huge, and if you fail to win, it gets very difficult.”

The ex-Pakistan all-rounder also claimed that India is over-dependent on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to score runs in big matches and other players cannot handle the pressure of an Indo-Pak game.

"In India, Virat and Rohit Sharma are two players who can touch par runs when they play. I'm not trying to say that others are not good. But if these two players don't play well in an India-Pakistan game, the others cannot handle that pressure,” said Hafeez.

"I believe it will always be a good game. Virat and Rohit are very good batsman, but others cannot handle the pressure of India-Pakistan game," he added.

India is Pakistan will once again play their opening fixture of the tournament against each other in the 2022 T20 World Cup. The match will take place on 23rd October at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

"The cricket fans of Pakistan showed an immense and unexpected level of love when we defeated India in T20 WorldCup 2021"

"It was my first match against India, it was a normal match for me. I got so much respect and appreciation from the people back home which I'm not able to describe in words"
