By all counts, the first covid vaccine isnt far away. Countries are now scrambling to pre order various vaccines. Someone like Canada has ordered so many vaccines that its 527 percent of its population. UK has ordered around 277 percent of its population. US has ordered 800mn plus dosages and is negotiating for 1.6bn more. India has ordered 600mn and is negotiating for 1bn more, first 100mn will come next month. Bangladesh has ordered 30mn. EU has ordered 400mn and negotiating for 1.6bn more.

But what about the countries that dont have the financial strength? How will they get the suppllies?

3rd world countries will have to pay for it with credit, raising their debt levels even further.

Imo Nations such as India and Pakistan should hold back and see the results of these vaccines first. Pakistan life pretty much back to normal with low figures of infection. Pak doesnt need to waste money on this, the whole pandemic has been vastly exagguarted to enslave and make profits.

Oxford’s vaccine will be produced by Serum, Pfizer will not come handy for us due to temperature storage.

Also lets not forget while Healthcare might be better in western countries but they have not done large scale vaccinations in last few decades like South Asia and Africa, it would be interesting to see how they do that.

Pfizer may not become the one that govt uses. But it may be used by upper middle class and affluent class as they may be ready to pay the high cost.

Serum will also manufacture the NovaVax vaccine and the codgenix vaccine.

I feel it will just be flu shot style at first - albeit with the logistical nightmare of the -70 degree storage. Maybe set up centres in schools and allow the vulnerable to get vaccinated first, then bring in people in batches based on demographics and post/zip code or something.

Good luck convincing right wingers to take the vaccine, I can see many saying its better be with tranquilizer gun as they wont take it lol,
Anti- Vaccination (any vaccine) drive has been in full force among conservatives for a while now

Any idea how many dosages have been ordered by Asian and African countries?

India, the world's largest vaccine manufacturer, will produce enough for itself and the rest of the developing world.

At least three candidates are undergoing advanced testing in India.

I heard India doesnt have the capability to store the vaccine. It better acquire the technology quickly.
