A 25-year-old ice-cream seller was brutally beheaded in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki after a dispute, with the accused arrested while cooking at home with the severed head nearby.

The cost of asking price of his ice-cream turned out to be a fatal nightmare for a 25-year-old ice-cream seller, who was allegedly beheaded in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district on Saturday (March 28) in a shocking incident that has left the local community shaken. The victim, as per an NDTV report, was identified as Bablu. Bablu, along with his cousin Neeraj (12), had gone to Parsawal village as part of his daily routine to sell ice cream.

During his visit, he got into a verbal altercation with a resident, Shankar Yadav (52), who had eaten 3 ice-creams and, when asked for the money, started an argument.

Beheaded, Carried Head, Then Cooked

According to police, the argument escalated quickly. Shankar Yadav allegedly attacked Bablu with a sickle, slit his throat, and severed his head in public view. In a disturbing turn, the accused then picked up the severed head and carried it back to his house in the same village.

The brutal incident triggered panic in the village. Hearing Neeraj’s screams, villagers rushed to the spot, and village head Ram Milan Yadav informed the police. Meanwhile, even after killing Bablu, Shankar did not stop. He took the victim’s head to his hut and started cooking with Bablu's severed head lying nearby.

Accused Arrested, Probe Underway

About 45 minutes after the incident, when the police arrived, Shankar was cooking inside his hut. When the police asked him why he was doing this, he, as per a report by Hindustan, said that he would cook and eat. He was immediately arrested, and the murder weapon was seized.

Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya also inspected the crime scene.
Station House Officer Manoj Kumar said that the dispute started when the ice-cream seller asked for payment. Enraged by this, Shankar beheaded him with the sickle. The accused has been arrested, and a case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father.

Bablu, the eldest of three brothers, had been supporting his family through manual labour and selling ice cream. His wife and two young children are reported to be inconsolable. Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and are investigating the circumstances that led to the altercation. Further probe in the case is underway.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Telangana, has seized assets and registered a case of disproportionate assets against Arramada Venkat Reddy, Additional Collector (Revenue), Hanumakonda, who is also in-charge District Education Officer. During the searches, ACB officials detected several immovable properties owned by the accused and his family members. These include:

Married Navy Staffer Kills Lover At Home, Chops Up Body, Stores In Fridge

Ravindra, a navy official posted at the Indian Naval Ship Dega, matched with Mounika on a dating app in 2021.

Visakhapatnam:
When Chintada Ravindra's wife left for her parents' home, he called his lover, Polipalli Mounika, to spend some time together at his residence in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam. The meeting, however, turned out to be a death invite for Mounika. A fight broke out between the two and ended with Mounika being killed and chopped up into several pieces.

Ravindra, a 30-year-old Navy official posted at the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Dega, matched with 31-year-old Mounika on a dating app 'Mingle' in 2021. The two would frequently meet at various locations across Visakhapatnam, such as parks and theatres, police said. Gradually, they developed a romantic relationship.

A couple of weeks ago, Ravindra's wife went to her parents' house in Vizianagaram. Sensing it was the best time to spend quality time with his lover, Ravindra, on Sunday afternoon, decided to call Mounika over.

By evening, a fight reportedly broke out between the two, and Ravindra allegedly suffocated Mounika to death. He then allegedly purchased a knife from an online delivery platform and cut the body into pieces. According to the initial investigation, Ravindra separated head, legs, and hands from torso. He packed legs and hips in a trolley bag, stored the torso in the refrigerator, and transported the head and hands to a different location, where he allegedly burned them.

Ravindra then walked to a police station and confessed to his crime. The accused claimed that Mounika had taken Rs 3.5 lakh from him during the course of their relationship and would often threaten to reveal their relationship to his wife. This was the reason behind the frequent disputes between the two, including the one on the day Mounika was killed, the official said.

The investigation has revealed that Ravindra had planned the murder as he was tired of constant harassment and threats by Mounika ever since he married another woman in 2024.

When the police rushed to the crime scene, they found chopped body parts inside the refrigerator and the house. Mounika's head was missing. The police suspect that Ravindra disposed of it at another location.

A special police team has now been formed to search for the missing body parts. A murder case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

The case is an eerie reminder of the brutal murder of Shraddha Walkar on May 18, 2022. Walkar was allegedly strangled to death by her live-in partner, Aaftab Amin Poonawala, in their flat in Delhi. He allegedly chopped her body into pieces and stuffed the severed parts into a refrigerator before scattering them at multiple places in the national capital over several days to avoid detection.

Telangana Shocker: Official's Assets Estimated To Be Over 100 Crores

While the documented value of Mood Kishan's seized properties is pegged at Rs 12.72 crore, investigators say the actual market value could be much higher.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against the deputy transport commissioner of Mahabubnagar district for possessing assets wildly disproportionate to his known sources of income.

While the documented value of Mood Kishan's seized properties is pegged at Rs 12.72 crore, investigators say the actual market value, considering the vast land holdings and commercial interests, could be significantly higher. Estimates put the market value of the assets at over Rs 100 crore. A source told NDTV that the 31-acre agricultural land alone would have a market value of Rs 62 crore.

The scale of the discovery is particularly shocking given the official's rank and tenure. An officer of his rank has a gross monthly salary between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh. Raids conducted at Kishan's residence and 11 other locations belonging to his associates revealed a diverse portfolio of luxury and commercial investments.

These include a 50 per cent stake in Lahari International Hotel and 3,000 square yards of premium furniture showroom space in Nizamabad.

The vast land holdings include 31 acres of agricultural land in Sangareddy district and an additional 10 acres of commercial land within Nizamabad municipal limits.

Liquid assets and vehicles were also found. A frozen bank balance of Rs 1.37 crore, over 1 kg of gold ornaments and a fleet of luxury vehicles, including an Innova Crysta and a Honda City.

In the residential property category, Kishan is said to own two flats in Ashoka Township, Nizamabad, and a specialised polyhouse facility in Sangareddy.

This case stands out not just for the total valuation, but for the brazen nature of the accumulation. The Deputy Transport Commissioner is alleged to have built a sprawling "shadow empire" of hotels and showrooms while in active service, a direct violation of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The transition from a public servant to a de facto real estate and hospitality mogul suggests a deep-rooted system of dubious means that the ACB is now working to dismantle. Kishan has been booked under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the amended Prevention of Corruption Act. These sections pertain to enriching oneself illicitly and criminal misconduct.

The ACB has used this high-profile bust to remind the public that the identity of complainants remains strictly confidential. If you are asked for a bribe by any public servant, you can reach out via toll-free helpline: 1064 or WhatsApp number 9440446106.
