Blaming Misbah-ul-Haq in 2026 for everything wrong with Pakistan cricket is just about the most intellectually lazy thing you can do. He left the coaching setup 5 years ago... are you telling me that he was using a remote control to control all the coaches and chief-selectors that came after him? Did they not have their own free-will to promote Fakhar Zaman up the order?

And if he really was this evil mastermind holding Pakistan back then we should have seen dramatic improvement by now,. Why is then that this crap team just keeps getting worse and worse?

Pakistani fans need a scapegoat and Misbah is the perfect scapegoat.

I think people hold him responsible for 2011 more. And tbh he did blow that run-chase with his batting. For 2007 it's more about that moment that's imprinted on everyone's minds where he played that ramp shot into Sreesanth's hands.
