THOUSANDS of foreign crooks and illegal immigrants will be deported more swiftly under a landmark deal.

Britain has struck a new agreement with India to share criminal records info, fingerprints and intelligence.

India is third in the table of countries whose citizens sneak into Britain illegally, close behind Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Last year, about 6,000 Indian nationals were sent back for entering without the required visas.

But figure will rise substantially under increased co-operation between the two countries.

They have agreed a more flexible approach to verifying the identity and nationality of individuals to speed up the returns process.

Fantastic news for me and fellow native Brits. Of course we welcome immigrants who will integrate and enrich our societies, but they can of course do that LEGALLY. Good work my beloved UK.

Most of them are criminals offering nothing to the country other then crime. The are economic migrants not ones seeking escape from persecution. Should be sent back as soon as possible.

I agree, but hopefully by 2024 when India has become a global superpower they won't need to sneak into countries illegally. In fact it might well be me and you trying to sneak into India as economic migrants so we should maybe start learning Hindi.

Already happening from both sides of our borders

No my friend, I'm still in the UK, I haven't made any attempts at the moment. In 2024 when the UK is on it's knees and India is booming, I may try and penetrate the borders and live the good life under the Calcutta sun.

These illegal immigrants are only making it worse for the legal ethnic immigrants who are facing a rise in xenophobia from the natives. Unless they are escaping persecution there should be no mercy shown to them.

How is India, with a population ~6 times that of Pakistan and ~8 times that of Bangladesh behind those two countries in terms of number of people emigrating illegally?

The British government are absolutely clueless when it comes to illegal immigration because up until very recently there were no exit checks at British airports. The authorities would therefore know who arrived here on a tourist or a student visa (many of them fake) but they had no idea how many left so would just make assumptions.

The estimate of Indians living here illegally is 100,000 but the true figure could be way higher than this. Successive governments deliberately ignore the problem because they don't want the general public to know the true scale of the issue.

Up to 250k overstay each year - of course only a fraction of that total figure will be people from India however multiply that by 10-20 years and you have a big problem. Add together the illegal Indian, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani numbers and the overall figure for illegals from the subcontinent is not insignificant.

Up to 250,000 people drop off the radar and end up as illegal immigrants in Britain every year, according to secret Home Office figures, amid warnings that border controls are completely ineffective and will only get worse after Brexit.

David Wood, who was head of immigration enforcement at the Home Office until 2015, said that more than 1.2million illegal immigrants are currently living in Britain, predominantly after overstaying their visas.

People are not aware of the scale of the problem because official figures are not published and Home Office estimates for illegal immigrants are kept secret by ministers because they are "embarrassing", according to experts.

In a highly critical paper for Civitas, written with Alasdair Palmer, a former Home Office speechwriter, Mr Wood disclosed that the Home Office has privately estimated that between 150,000 and 250,000 foreign nationals fail to return to their home country when they should.

Up until now the Indian government were unwilling to cooperate with Britain when it came to returning illegal Indians who live here - the people in question would hide or destroy their Indian travel documents and some people would also adopt a new name. The Brits would then ask the Indians for help identifying such people but these requests ended up taking years.

Will this recent agreement between both countries change anything? I have my doubts.

It is good to have dreams even if they are fantasy. My Urdu is very good, don't know about yours. Live in the present instead of the fictional future!

I do not believe the bold emphasis is true. When checking in at the desk, the passport is swiped. This is the check.

However, based on the article you have cited :

But the true numbers are not recorded officially because the Government's new e-borders system does not share data with the Office for National Statistics and others, leading to inaccurate figures that are as good as "guesses", they said

The UK immigration can be best described in a word - Osmosis.

It is laughable beyond belief how these Indians are talking off 2024:))):))) It has not hit them that they may not even be alive by then!
