What's new

CT:Sri Lanka v SA: 7th match, Motera [updates]

Sangakara will be the key for me, he is the best SL batsmen against a pace orientated attack.

Jayawardene the new man in, gets of the mark immediately.

Your da man! Cav! You tell it like it is! Have no fear Cav is here!

No, on a serious note I absolutely agree Cav, we have nothing to fear infact it should be the other way round.

:89: :89:

SA keeping it really tight, 12 runs from almost 6 overs now. plus the all important wicket of Sanath , not bad i says.

we in for a thriller!

Sri Lankans batting at less than 2 runs an over. Thats very unlike them

Thats true !

Quick single taken, could have been out as well, but misses the stumps one run to Thuranga non the less

13 for 1 sri lanka.

13 for 1 .

7 overs , not a bad start at all considering the fact, the ball is still new and could go for some runs.

well bowled polly & co so far!

The Lankans look a little dull... wonder whats got to them. Perhaps they believe 220 is a tough target??

i would have sent Dilshan up the order, just to give him some practice and to increase the run rate a wee bit as well, he is a dasher.

It's not the fiorst time that Harper has given a batsman out to a ball that pitched outside leg stump

Maybe the guy does not fully understand the laws of the game

He thinks other wise ;)

This is a dangerous line being bowled by Natini, quite tempting but at the same time can get you as well.

out nooooooooooooo

just falls short of Nel, just short, miss pulled takes the bottom of the bat scoops it in the air, lucky thuranga!

Tharanga is not getting going here. He's been pressured by some great tight bowling by Pollock & Ntini and is forced to play some wild strokes which he plays and misses.

I have a feeling that they are waiting for the bowling change - perhaps they have decided to see pollock and ntini through. We could see a shift of gears once the bowling change happens....

lucky again Jayawardena, outside edge flying through mid wicket for 2.

I don't think they are waiting for bowling change. Tharanga has found it hard to bat today. he is not playing clean shots be it a blocking/defensive shot

Gone, Tharanga! superb bounce in the corridor from Ntini, takes the edge and Boucher takes it easily. Sri Lanka in some trouble now.

Sangakkara gone for a duck caught behind. What bowling from Pollock. Like watching him of old!

Pollock bowling tremendously. The perfect line and length. Sanga goes for a 0.

Have to diasagree Cav, I think keeping wickets in tact is the name of the game. If they keep 7-8 wickets in tact by the 25-30 overs and assuming they score at 3.5 runs/over they can still win comfortably.

SL in trouble now. they need to not lose a wicket for 15 overs or so plus they have to score runs too

Mad Max Nel into the attack

Time for the Lankans to get back into the game

SL should atleast score close to 200 to keep the NRR down of the teams. it may come to NRR for a teams who qualifies and the group leader

expected dew is nowhere to be found yet and the monsoon has taken Eid break.

It seems like the Lankans are on the take from the bookies :)

Attack is the best form of Defense, and now that dilshan's here you would see what difference he makes ! :16:

35 for 4.

14.3 overs

Looks like the Lankans will let me down! :(

Lets see if SL can muster heroics of a Razzaq-Akmal proportion.

Good performance by SA so far!!

But these two are both dangerous players

I hope you're right Cav, for Sri Lankas sake anyway.

if SL loses then the pool is still open. Pakistan just needs to win one to qualify but for the rest it maybe NRR

Nel was involved in a head on collision where is head hit the windshield. The guys brain must be smashed

Gotta say, the Saffies have been amazing with the ball and in the field today.

Nel is a south african version of Sreesanth,.... or the other way.
Sreesanth cannot walk to a batsman and stare at him for more than a second. he can only give a hero like pose and tippy toe back to the runup

because Jonty Rhodes is watching over them. they were always good in fielding. SL were exceptional today in the field

And you think Nels pansy antics make him some kind of tough guy ?

Sri Lanka look down and out...a compliment to their opponents SA and Pakistan, or does it put into perspective how bad we are to lose 5-0 to them!

23 overs 75 for 4!

if sri lanka reach 120 by 30 overs with 4 wickets down, i says they are favorites to winthis one!

Last time i checked they were still in the game with 75 for 4 :O :O

atleast he walks up to the batsman and stares unlike Seesanth who will start tuning look at the batsman, play with his necklace and walk back

Indian bowlers cannot do stuff like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlJNxuBOUDE
sure some get away because of the language but another example is Afridi vs Kumble and Afridi wasn't even bowling
