Yes, the worst is behind Pakistan. They should slowly drift back to normalcy this decade assuming the US doesn't come to spread democracy in the region again.

Pakistan should normalize hosting matches. No need of thanking the teams, bending over backwards to prove that we are very hospitable and welcoming.

Just provide tight security because we are the most dangerous country in the world and we cannot take any risks.

However, as far as ICC tournaments are concerned, this is where things get complicated.

We need to understand that for all our chest thumping and shallow arrogance, we are at India’s mercy because there is no possible way Pakistan can host an ICC tournament without India’s presence.

If it was BCCI’s call, they would tour Pakistan because I don’t think the ye would like to damage PCB’s ego to such an extent and make them feel so helpless, but since it is the government’s call, you never know.

BCCI are invited to participate in the 2025 CT. No debate about it since they are a Full ICC member and qualified for the CT.

Whether they chose to participate is entirely up to the Indian Govt - nothing PCB can do about it and I doubt PDM will get involved..

The author does not provide his understanding of exactly what defines "Golden age"?

It's a subjective term and will vary from person to person.

"Golden age", to me would probably mean the QUALITY of the team and number of extensive victories under their belt. A high ICC ranking in all three formats will also be another indicator.

If the author thinks that second string teams arriving into Pakistan and playing under a presidential level security, cost of which is so high that it results in net financial losses to PCB, and with a team that has non-existing middle order, is termed as "Golden age", then .... what can I say?

Welcome to Saqball inanity of test cricket, not only do we play T20s like we are stuck in the 90s, we play tests like we are stuck in the 80s.

Not a golden age because that would mean itd be the high point which isnt the case when teams are touring with high security

Itll hopefully be normalicy soon Thats what we can hope for and the more teams tour the better facilities we can provide them with less and less security
