Dale Steyn vs Morne Morkel in ODIs

Steyn is widely considered to be the best fast bowler of his generation in Tests.

In ODI's this isn't the case though. Morkel is a different force in ODI's as compared to Tests.

Who do you think is a better bowler in ODI's

For me it's Morkel.

Morkel is certainly better, neither is at the top of the odi tree though.

Morkel but not by much. He bowled well in WC semis but just couldn't take the team over the line.

Steyn is comfortably better than Morkel. Steyn occupied the top 3 rank in ODI for an extended period. Morkel never did that. PPers are going by current performance and it's not a good way to judge players.

Steyn has been one of the top ODI bowlers for many years and gets underestimated because his stature in the test format is too high. If you are one of the top 3 of all time in the tests then expectations for ODI format also goes too high and that's why even a good Steyn is seen as not so good in ODI format.

No idea about his stats. This general perception I have of SA ODI team is the reason of above comment O fan of Alizee.

Morne Morkel has been in top 10 of ICC ranking for long time. He was best bowler for them in that format for long time.

Avg of 24 playing his games on really batting friendly pitches, big bats, small boundaries size, fielding restrictions. LOL...

I think Morkel in general is a better ODI bowler due to his awkward bounce and pace.

Steyn is a better death bowler and a more well rounded bowler but still Morkel edges ahead due to being better in middle overs.
