He's been amazing this tournament.
Finished the game off for us once he found his timing.
He's been a revelation as opener for us and cemented a spot in the team. He is a good striker of the ball, he struggled early on but was able to fire big time in the clutch. He was struggling initially but recovered well later on.
I still think he should not be in the T20 side. He seems like an accumulator. They already have two other accumulators (Conway and Williamson).
It seems like people who don't watch us play or are use to seeing players lay a base and go for it.Jimmy Neesham saved him today..

He struggled for his timing and was slow but it was fine given we didn't have much batting depth left, I thought he paced his innings fine as he has the game to catch up like he did. It was all about laying a platform and then just launching, like the team did tonight.
Boss you were losing it in the match thread and writing eulogy of New Zealand cricket, now acting as if all of this was going to plan.
You have to admit Mitchell was swinging it wildly throughout the innings and was hardly able to time anything. Once Neesham came and changed the game around, then Mitchell also found his timing.
^This was Mitchell after Conway got out, the rest (Neesham, Phillips, Santner, Southee etc.) Just had to hit.Where did I write anything remotely close to a eulogy? Throughout I was supportive of Mitchell's batting because I knew what we had left and what he was capable of once he found his timing. We couldn't afford to lose more wickets since we don't bat deep.
When you don't have a long batting line up it's imperative you have an anchor who sees the innings through.
Brilliant and well deserved 100 to him - match been taken away from England.
Superb. Second only to babar.
In what sense?
Mitchell drops yet another catch in the series, he cost New Zealand a lot of runs at Trent Bridge with this.
A good batsman but his slip work is awful.
Knocked England out last year. The PowerQuitter, let down his spineless countrymen when they needed him most
This show how easy batting these days are. Especially after two new ball era.
His recent form is terrible. Not the whole career.People criticize his strike rate although he is not that bad... A good middle order batter.
