Delhi vs Sui Gas | Mohammad Nissar Trophy | Delhi | 15-18 Sep 08

fantastic stuff from Delhi

This is the beauty of the second chance while almost eliminates the fluke factor.

I feel a few wickets will lead to a collapse despite the ease of batting conditions.

Anyway, congratulations to Imran Ali for getting 6/52 and making a couple of runs. Anyone knows what his style of bowling is?

Good fightback by India after a first inning setback. But I suppose its pretty obvious that this wicket is a seamer friendly one. The totals and the run rates reflect that. The Delhi batsmen are quite aggressive and thats both their strength and their weakness (remember that this is a weakened line up sans Dhawan. Anyone knows why Gambhir is left out?).

And quite surprisingly, I see a lot of wisdom from the Indian selectors in picking Virat Kohli for internationals at this age. I didnt watch him bat but he's scoring >50% of his runs in boundaries and scored a few runs in that Australia A game too.

M Saad is probably the only PPer who has seen him bowl and he wasn't impressed(thanks for the report Saad)

they will also be looking to score fast because remember Delhi have to win the match to 'win' the match.

Ehm.. thats Asad Ali and not Imran Ali.

Doesnt look very "menacing"
40610.html
Pretty good domestic averages and strike rates but that doesnt say much.

Yaar Imran Ali doesnt look like a fast bowler from any end ,he is short ,medium pace (around 130k) bowl too much straight wkt to wkt even though he had taken a hatrick on that match I didnt witness any kind of movement from him (Could be becuz of a flat pitch)

On the contrary Asad Ali has all the ingredients to become good fast bowler (I rate him even higher than Anwar Ali) and can seam the ball even on dead pitch.

Just as i thought Dehlis strong batting line up was not going to fail twice!

No surprise to see the Indian fans typically get in with a shot once their team starts do even slightly well...anyways do remember your team lost 8/40 in the first innings, so I wouldn't get too cocky just yet, pixaar.

provocative comments need fitting reply.
thats what you get Mr. cars.

"Fitting reply"? Don't flatter yourself, dude. You just come across as a typical Indian fan really - always defending your players, administrators when the whole world can see they are wrong, jumping in with comments as soon as your team does even slightly well and then disappearing when the inevitable loss occurs.

so you do agree that your comments are provocative.
well in case you have seen my all of my replies, i respect and like players from other teams too. something which you can't do.

and going through the forum, i see no one really argues with you.
so there. i am wrong. you win i lose.

Funniest post ever here. YOU start everything in this thread with your degrading comments about Sehwag and Ishant and when someone retorts you arent able to take the heat

Yes I've seen your posts, and your constant defense of India/Indian players - which says it all.

I'm perfectly able to take the heat - keep your delusions to yourself.

if i remember correctly, there was an article on cricinfo, during the last u19 wc saying that the indian team spends more time styling their hair than practicing on the pitch. yet the ended up winning the tournament beating us in the semis.

Indian,

Get your facts right.

Are you from New Zealand then?

err sorry if i offended u by not following u19 much lol
maybe it was quarters if not semis?

Actually we lost to South Africa in the Semi Finals.

Your team lost to us in the last two crunch u19 games we've played. The most entertaining being the 2006 WC Final :))

How many 'supposedly' Pakistani posters do you see getting called Indian on PP?

That should tell you something in itself.

And pretending to be a Pakistani doesnt?

thats what i dont understand. am i supposed to defend pak even if i feel they r wrong?

and attack india even if i feel they arent doing anything wrong?

sorry but im nothing like cars...and i'd hate to be anything close to him geez

There are plenty of Pakistani posters who dont defend Pak, in fact we have pakistani posters who say nothing but negative stuff about Pak.

You are not one of them, you are an Indian poster who is pretending to be a Pakistani, even your reaction and replies above point to the same thing.

^^^ I can also vouch for his 'Indian-ness' too...

^^as if it was apparent already....

The more attention we pay to him, the more he will continue acting like a Pakistani. Best thing to do is ignore him.... :Evil

Yeah, I was wondering about that. If this match ends in a draw, we win right? The first innings lead will be the decider, right?

Well Sui gas seems to be awefully lucky matter of fact their best luck ever to bowl out Delhi side for 130 odd in the first innings...

Romali_rotti said:

Yeah its very surprising to restrict them to 130 considering that there is only 1 decent bowler in the lineup.

Not a good day so far but if that first innings lead thing holds, we should be OK because I can't see us losing 10 wickets on this pitch now.

Well i think delhi bowling is way better than sui gas bowling so theyl have to bat realy good to draw this match.

By the way if we manage to draw this one somehow, who will take the trophy? Or will they share it?

Delhi 431/1 in 93 overs. Kohli at 197, Chopra at 167.
omg.
this is amazing batting
delhi lead by 299
they should declare after both kohli and chopra get double centuries

finally Kohli departed for 197. score 438/2

btw, Kohli is now officially Asad Ali's bunny :D

would u still call him his bunny after getting whackd all over :D

no matter, he got him twice. that is more than sufficient to be labeled as bunny :D :D

does anyone know how many times this Nissar trophy has been held? may be I missed something, but first time I'm hearing such a match between the domestic champions.

i think its the 3rd time they playing it.. 1st sialkot played against someone (cant remmber which team it was)and sialkot lost.. Last year karachi played and lost also...

477/4 in 110 overs. what a collapse.
they lead by 345 runs, 30 overs left in the day
chopra got out for 182

I really fail to see how any team, any bowling attack in the world, can give 182 runs to Aakash Chopra. He is a distinctly mediocre batsman.

Other than that, the early juice in the pitch has obviously dried up and it has become a flat patta. Unless we fall to the pressure of a giant total, I think we should be able to draw this one, by batting just as well.

PlanetPakistan said:
Already stumps! Did Viru forget to declare?
I don't know how bad the light there in Delhi, but either they should have declared or should have looked to get some quick runs even the light is not at best. the current status doesn't make any sense.

i think its quite a funny name especially if we start calling him "auntie jee" or "auntie jaan" because that will be a mixture of mild insult and respect.

coming back to the match i feel it will be very unfair to 'win' the match like this...hope the players take the field ASAP.

Well we ''lost'' a drawn game last time around so I don't see the problem. Plus cricket, like life, isn't meant to be fair.

yeah i don't have a problem with a "drawn" win how ever it will be nice if the Delhi bowlers get 60 or 70 overs and test the SG batsmen out. The overcast conditions will certainly help them.

Well deserved Win Lol knowing that there is a deficit of over 400 runs and had this game been taken into the 4th and 5th day then it would have been curtains for Pakistan.Pakistan did incredibly well to restrict the Indian line up in the first innings but to think they could do that again was an illusion....

Win is Win what about the deficit of 122 in first innings and 134 allout
on a doggy pitch indian massive bating line ups always ends up in 130's and 140's

I did say that the seam bowlers under overcast conditions of Sui Gas did well to restrain the delhi players but since then it was outright ownage for you guys but nevertheless congratulations :)))

134 plays 266 and you call that ownage :)))

And how can you be so sure that Sui Gas would have folded in the 2nd dip. We outbatted you in the first innings so there is a huge possibility it could have happened again, moreover the result was decided on first innings scores so in that regard it was a throughly well deserved win.

:yk :yk

Feel very bad for Delhi...they didn't deserve to 'lose'

Still credit to Sui Gas, despite only having 1 superstar they were able to sweep every thing in sight(Quaid trophy, limited over competition and now Md Nissar trophy)

everybody knew the rules before the game started.
so in case of a draw the second innings just doesn't matter.
this is stupid but they won legally. you can't argue that.
