Saw this on TV. Apparently this is the case for last 1000 years .

Not sure before that.

Erm I don't really think so. There has to be somebody else too if you are taking into account that long a period.

Yar Mughals alone ruled the region for around two hundred years. Entire Punjab region along with the adjoining parts was under the control of Mughal empire as Punjab Suba . Heck Akbar even stayed in Lahore for around 12 years to oversee the operation of supressing Pashtun revolt.
Also if my memory serves me correctly Maharajas of Jaipur served in the Punjab Suba as well as Maharajas of Jodhpur most famous of them being Jaswant Singh. That information is completely false.

The mughals ruled punjab for a long time, Lahore was their capital for a long time. The Afghans also looted, plundered Punjab and Gandhara for centuries, so much so that they've changed demographics in the socalled "KPK" province. So I'd say Abdali and Akbar have reigned over Punjab for longet than Shahbaz.

Time period doesn’t matter to the average punjabi. To them Shahbaz Sharif>Ranjith Singh and all others because he completed the Lahore metro bus project.

What about the magnificent monuments and architectural marvels created by the likes of Shah Jahan et al?

Pashtuns since centuries have inhabited the areas around the Khyber Pass. Abdali didn't do jack squat. He was a plunderer is all.

punjabis care about awaami issues, monuments don’t solve awaami issues. Though it would have been better if the bus stops looked like Mughal architecture. Modern bus stops, monuments including the communist symbols and bolshvik architecture are horrible.

I'm talking about Swat, Peshawar, and most of what is now KP, Khyber is in the tribal areas not part of the province.

Mughals had different governors appointed at different time periods I believe

From what I understand the journalist was talking in terms of individuals heading the province/state rather than the central authority it comes under. So Akbar wouldnt be counted for this purpose. Rather his appointed governors would be counted as individual rulers

That's a poor logic honestly. The post of Subedar of Punjab wasn't granted autonomy and they were repeatedly transferred to different regions (at least during the early Mughal rule) so as to not let any of them to consolidate their powers(Which began to happen after Aurangzeb) and therefore it's safe to assume that the direct control was under the emperor.
Shoddy journalism.

I'm pretty sure the Kurdish, Ali Mardan Khan governed Punjab longer during Mughal rule. He was made Governor of the Lahore province which then consisted of Kabul and Kashmir as well.

In which case the average punjabi would be right. Good luck with trying to get a Lahore metro bus project completed by a Ranjit Singh whose been dead for centuries.

I dont think so this is true. Don't believe every word pakistani journalists say.

They just play to the gallery and provide claims without any historical facts & evidence. Punjab was under mughal rule for more than two centuries.

Replace that with lahori and you are right. As for the rest of the punjab, the sharif family didn't do jack, never intended to in the past nor will do in the future.

I think journalist meant individual not dynasties or empires

Ranjit singh was also a part of Sikh empire, infact he was the founder of Sikh empire & its first king. Also are not kings or emperors an individual? Had they not appointed governors in punjab in their reign.

Anti-N league propaganda is at its peak right now and these military sponsored journos just spit out any horsecrap for rating purpose and gullible folks swallow it without thinking for one second.

Subhanallah for your logic. So anytime anybody will not agree with you or refute claims by lifafa journos on historicall facts, he is automatically a Noora. Kam az kam ye tanna hi mjhe kisi logical post pe dete.

Just one post ago you were suggesting ranjit singh was an individual & not part of an empire. I bet you didn't even know he is to Sikh empire what babar was to mughals. But hey lets not get logic in the way of slander

Clearly lacking comprehension here if that's your takeaway...

Anyways the way you were triggered and started crying about paid journalists and other conspiracy theories suggested you were a Noora since yours was not a rational response and came across as rather paranoid

You mean rational like assuming no body ruled punjab for more decade in last millenia cause somebody said so on TV and then turning your lack of Basic general knowledge into the same old PTI VS N league thread.
